I hope Bioware was paying attention at E3 and not just worried about what they were doing/showing...the "gunsmith" feature for GR:FW looked awesome! Since we are not getting the game until next March, I hope that they can find the time to add a feature like this for the weapon modding in ME 3.

I just checked out a youtube video of that. And you're right, that was pretty impressive use of Kinect.

My favorite part is when they announced it at E3 and the audience just stared at them blankly for a full minuet, until two or three people started pity clapping. Yes, it's a gimmick, one that's been around for a good decade now. At least the voice command, the motion control crap has been around since, like, the Nintendo Power Glove. It was sucky then, and it's sucky now, at least imo.

It might be a gimmick, but I hope Bioware got a nice little pile of money from microsoft to add it in.

But we all know they arent going to admit its a gimmick or something to make the series feel more special on the 360 since it went over to the PS3. Its like asking them to tell us the true reason why Mass Effect 1 wasnt ported to the PS3, all we get from a interview on gameinformer is that ME2 is a great entry point and ME1 is pointless lol. But hey the ME1 thing is another topic in itself so ill go back to the Kinect thing.

I will admit I was awed by the demo for Fable: The Journey and Star Wars for Kinect. But even those games are barely enough to make me wanna get the Kinect, they arent pushing the true potential of this Motion Control thing. The Motion controls can be more than a gimmick like it is for Wii mostly. Mass Effect 3 optional use of the Kinect can make the Kinect used for actual games than gimmicky ones. The real reason why the Kinect and most motion control devices stay gimmicky is because developers dont push the device like they do with games like Mass Effect 3.

But at this point Mass Effect 3 use of the Kinect is gimmicky and they can make it for use of mic just as easily. So Bioware there is a mic device, using the Kinect for that use is not using the device properly :D

What I dont understand: Why only for Kinect?!
Voice recognition is around for a while now. They might as well bring it out for PC and PS3 with headsets too.

But I guess they have an exklusive contract with Microsoft. Well....at least they cash in some more money for the Budget :)

They don't want to bother writing the software for PC and PS3. Because of Kinect, it's already been done for XBox 360.

I still laugh at the voice recognition. The amount of abuse that I will put that thing through will be astronomical.

"Garrus, Overload! Thane, dance crazy!"
