Miranda is sickly looking, in all honestly. Her proportions are so off that she's firmly in the uncanny valley to me. Samara's mode of dress is irritating, but less of an issue than Miranda.

I do not find Jack to be overtly sexualized, though.

Personally, just for myself....Miranda's overly large ass and fugly face means I don't really see her as attractive. She's just not that attractive to me. She's occasionally attractive to some of my characters however.

Samara pretty.

Jack's got a pretty face, a dancer's body, and I can't help but think of how much of a whole person she would have been....had Cerberus not got their hands on her. She's now a hardened anti-social broken human being who's never the less one of the deadilest people in the entire galaxy. I really like Jack.

But personally, Liara and Kelly are the two hottest characters in the entire game. To this male player in any event.

I dont see the Problem with Samara's Out fit personaly

Unlike Miranda, Samara At least Wears Armor, she just Shows a little skin and judging from the Collar, i assume its a personal choice, and with her code it might be one of the few forms of Freedom and or Self Expression she has

I disagree. Feminism, as stated in my post, has many incarnations, and while you may be opposed to some people under the feminist banner, I'm pretty sure you at least agree that women should be allowed to participate in politics and should have equal treatment under the laws.

Yes, and they have those things. In fact when it comes to law i'd argue women have advantages over men.

1) Miranda has irritating shots focusing on ass? Jacob has them too. Moreover, let's remember a vid about him in LotSB, or romance scene - everything that shown about poor guy is his abs. Equality with Miranda? Yes.
2) Samara runs around with half of her chest exposed? Thane does that too. Even more, Thane was _designed_ to appeal to female audience. Equality in sexualising? Yes.
3) Jack has ridiculous outfit that only underlines her sexuality? Garrus has a hole in armour which accents his badassery (and in several cases badassery=sexuality). He also keeps that stupid hole after LM and change of outfit. Equality? Yes.
4) All strippers are asari? Well, asari first found the Citadel and everyone knows asari. Not surprising little percent of aliens is aroused by species known only for about 30 years, maybe humans also don't enjoy the idea to dance before aliens.
This lack of comparison and little "didn't checked" moments like "Shephard" and "Sarin" make me - both a woman and a feminist - very, very sad. Who speaks about equality considering only treatment of one side?

I will never understand why it is anti-feminist if a woman is dressed sexy? And is proud of their bodies and flaunt it.

Perhaps because "feminists" aren't a homogenous faceless mass who all think alike ? The current "s.lutwalk" demos pretty much have the "it's okay to be sexy" message and are considered to be pretty much feminist.

It's interesting that you referenced the s***walk demonstrations. They happened because a Toronto police officer decided to offer some 'advice' to a class of York University students. He said the best way to avoid getting sexually assaulted was not to wear revealing clothes. It was clearly a blame the victim issue. He got disciplined, but that's the rationale for those walks. Men and women attended those rallies and wore whatever they wanted--revealing clothes is not why women get attacked.

Just for the record, that whole "But Miranda's the perfect woman!!!" defense, it doesn't work. There's no agreed upon perfect appearance for a woman, and to be honest, a woman with Miranda's shape would be considered freakish in the real world. To get those attributes, you're talking freakishly anorexically thin with about 20 lbs of silicon between her boobs and her butt. Barbie isn't that disproportionate.

I disagree. While Miranda has idealized proportions, they are within the realm of realistic.

I never understood the whole problem with sexualizing in general men or women. My only problem with the outfit designs in ME2 is that they really made little sense when it came to combat and ESPECIALLY space/planet exploration. In that sense aesthetics were obviously more important then functionality and I find that really annoying.

BUT, what Jack, Samara. Miranda and even Jacob wears does not bother me one bit. It fits who they are, I like that Miranda is conflicted with how and who she is, I like that Jack is so wild she doesn't give a shi*t. And Samara old enough to be comfortable in her skin, whatever.

isms are dangerous in any form because they have an ideological dogma and are usually myopic and inflexible.

I don't know why we simply can't say we're all different but everyone should have equality of choice to pursue anything they they are personally qualified to pursue. But the isms don't see people as individuals but as groups and then study the power dynamics between those groups to the exclusion of other important criteria.

Marisa Miller has appeared in Perfect 10 magazine, which has a strict requirement of the women not having had cosmetic surgery. Are her proportions average? No - hence she's a supermodel. If by natural, you mean average, then no. But if by natural you mean that her body is a product of surgery, you are incorrect.

... *facepalms*

I cannot believe the person who wrote this blog went through all the effort to note all those screenies. Is she really paying that much attention to where Miranda's ****** are hanging out and the deminsions of Samara's cleavage.

Overcompensating much?

My opinion:
A woman can wear whatever she wants to wear and shouldn't be looked down upon for it. There is far too much emphasis on how a woman presents herself in the world today.
