Absolutely, it's completely worth it.

I 2nd this. It's an awesome game. I still play it from time to time even after having finished both ME1 and ME2 several times.

Absolutely, it's completely worth it.

I will start a new playthrough when I get ME3, so that by the time I'll get to ME3 there will be (hopefully) a patch or a DLC.

I already have 2 level 60 characters (sole survivor, Liara romance - War Hero, Ashley romance) and a level 57 with no romance from ME1 so I'm pretty much done with that game unless I ever wanted to go full renegade (always been very paragon with my playthroughs).

I only recently got those 2 characters to level 60 and did choose a few different decisions so I will probably play a couple of ME2 playthroughs with them. One where I stay faithful to the love interest and one where I won't.

Not quite sure how replayable ME3 will be seeing as it's the end of the trilogy. ME1 and ME2 were so replayable because of the importing. If you liked the series enough you would replay the game just to make sure you had a "perfect" character.

Also to anyone who hasn't played ME1, you should definitely get on that. It's such a great game in terms of story and immersion.

I'll probably do 3 complete playthroughs (Mass effect 1 + Mass effect 2 + all DLC and sidequests)

I'll end up finishing 2 before the year is over... 1 paragon and 1 renegade and i might do 1 more a month before ME3 comes out.

I'm going to do a Female Shepard run through just to see what's different, and I have a "me" Shepard I want make. I have a similar one made but I wasn't very thorough and only did about half of the side quests.

Being able to experience the story firsthand is worth it imo. Though the gameplay is a bit different, it still gives you a much better idea of the lore and character backgrounds than Genesis does.

As for the OP's question, I will be doing a fresh playthrough of all games shortly before ME3 is released.

Yep, gonna do another complete run-through with my main-Shep. That way I can try for some of those pesky achievements that I missed in ME1.

 Just read this and popped in ME 1. Took a longer than average time designing my character. But yeah, reintroducing myself to the ME world from scratch one last time before ME 3. I know I'll end up doing another N+ game for the sake of carrying over the save file to ME 2.

I just finished ME1 with all the sidequests done and Bring Down The Sky (besides finding the turian emblems, asari writings, ect... >_> ) and I just finished ME2's main quest and Arrival + The Shadow Broker. Working on sidequests now.

Don't know yet. I've done countless runs of ME1 and about 12 of ME2 with my 8 Shepards. I'm not going to do another one unless I feel the need to change something. I also have technical difficulties in ME1 - I can't load my old saves into my new game version (switched languages) because of the damned DLC, and I like my Shepards' faces too much to try and remake them from scratch. Too bad there aren't any facecodes for ME1 Shepards.

I'm reinstalling ME1 as we speak, as odd as it sounds (coming from me) I really wish I had the console versions of the games, the PC version feels kind of cluncky to me, but o well.

I'm still playing through Mass Effect. I just got to level 60 last week and I have to finish the game three more times. The only thing that really changes between playthroughs is the LI. One Liara, one Ashley, and one Tali. The no romance ME is the Tali romance in ME2, and it is also the basis of my Biotic playthrough. It's complicated, but It's worth it.

If I'll get through technical problems of running ME1 on Win7 64 bit with 570 gtx, I'll do male-full renegade.
And since I'm currently on my 19th ME2 playthrough, it'll be 20th. Jubilee!

Yes i will play 2 playtrough´s, first a male paragon and then with a female renegade.
(have to play the renegade carefull, theres a differents between renegade and evil.)
These playtrough´s will not be a tick this plot flag play´s but fully roleplayed characters.

Considering ME3 is over half a year away, and I'll probably get all crazy in the months running up to it, I think it's more a case that I'll *need* to do another playthrough of ME1 and 2.

Not quite.

I have Virmire onwards to complete with the last of my main 6 Shepard's in ME1 (one for each class). I'm currently working my way through playthrough #4 of ME2, and will probably at least complete playthrough #5 by the time ME3 is released. Plus once all 6 have gone through ME3 I will be doing an encore run through all three games (one after the other). Fun times! Although I sometimes feel like I replay these games so much I have no time for any other games, no idea how those with 20+ playthroughs fit it all in.

Yup, 1 more. Have to save Kaidan this time. Ugh, 5 playthroughs and Kaidan is dead in all of them. Feel quite bad actually.

I'm pretty happy with my Mass Effect saves -- I still wrestle with Virmire a bit, but that is easily fixed with Gibbed. However some of my Mass Effect 2 choices are still conflicted for my "canon".

Geth Heretics and Keiji's Graybox in particular. I kind of want to metagame the Collector Base choice knowing what BioWare does to Renegade choices. However I think I'm going to stick to that choice.. and if it turns out to backfire I'll live with it.
