How about it people? let us give Bioware feedback on the facegen on how to make it better.

What i would like to see is that we can get to the facegen in just under a minute when starting the game, this would prevent so much fustration.
Secondly i would like that Shepard would not make a slightest grin when we see her/him for the first time :o

Go ahead, what would you suggest ?

How about full 360 head rotation so we can see how those cheekbones will really look in-game. I never got them quite right despite repeated attempts.

And test cutscene or test lighting. Some of the Sheps I've made looked perfect in the generator but when I saw them in the actual game

More of every feature type. I've found in all of Bioware's recent facegens there are only ever 1 or 2 types of Eyes, Noses, Mouths and other features that I find acceptable. There are usually only a small handful of these features to pick from. I would like to see the number of each of these features dramatically increased for ME3 to give players the most options in customizing their Shep.

The best one I have used was Oblivions I once spent two days and made a face that was almost mine. Very easy to use too.

Mass effect 2 was improved over 1 a bit but is still to restrictive. Instead of giving us types to select why cant we go with Oblivions method or the dragon age editor if I remember correctly and allow fine control of features. They are all using FaceGen underneath anyway aren't they?

In practice most of the features e.g. the eyes only looked good with a specific face shape so that narrowed the choice further if you wanted a shep that didn't look strange. I think this is why the good looking custom sheps particularly the males all seem to look more or less the same.

I would like a better face generator but I think mass effect's biggest limitation would be the animation needed for shepard to talk and make facial expression. a mute protagonist could get away with a more customized face.

Not saying they couldn't make it more in depth, I just see as one of the main obstacles.

Another problem with the face generator, at least in ME2, is that it can only be reached after viewing a lengthy cutscene.

They should do rotation like in the DAO/DA2 CC.

Would have to agree that this is a much needed feature for the character creation tool.

I would like to see smoother aspects of the faces. ME1 had a much smoother aspect in terms of how to handle lines on the face as opposed to ME2. In ME2 it looked like I was seeing bits of the mesh that weren't rendered completely if that makes any sense.

The ability to have Shepard speak a line of text that demonstrates how the face animates.

I am in TOTAL agreement!! Especially about getting better hair style options. I only use 2 of the options given because the others are unattractive, especially the pulled back hair styles which leave fem Shep looking like she has a receding hairline!

I've seen a lot of pics and clips that others have posted and they tend to use one of the 2 or 3 decent hair choices or they use the hair styles of NPCs. I play on the 360 and I am pretty much stuck with the in game options.

In ME3, most if not all characters received an appearance makeover and I think they look great, especially, Liara, Kaidan , and Ash. I LOVE Ash's new hair style and armor! It would be awful to have all these awsome looking NPCs around my fem Shep and she be stuck with the same ol' appearance options. PLease don't do this Bioware!!!:(

I know this discussion is for the facegen, but I also like to make a request quickly here for more more feminine attire or armor for fem Shep. Miranda's and Samara's armors were awesome. The little black dress in ME2 was GREAT too! I know it's engame...fate of the entire galaxy time...but I'd love to play as a beautiful, ass-kickin, galactic hero with great hair, armor, and high heels!!!! :kissing:

Something along the lines of EVE's cc which allows detailed customization using the mouse to morph features instead of a slider bar, would be great. Also EVE's cc allows body customization.

Better hair modeling.

More hair options.

A bald option for females.

A model or actress for Femshep's default face.

....pic snip...

PC players can easily mod to get around it. Takes me 2 minutes to get into the game now, and most of that time is hauling Jokers arse to safety.

I support the ability to rotate. Too many times my Shep got exaggerated cheekbones. Or maybe some option to at least decrease that high cheekbones a bit..
And yes to more hair options! or beards.

^This!

So many of my characters looked really nice in the character creation screen but when I saw them in game and with different lighting it's always 'Meh..' A quick test option that shows your character in a fixed scene with 2 lines of test dialogue and different types of lighting and movement would make all the difference.
