Other than that, it'd be nice if we could be scarred in-game. We'd get injured, have it heal over time and have the scar stick but not as a scripted event.

Another problem with the face generator, at least in ME2, is that it can only be reached after viewing a lengthy cutscene.
Yeah, this is seriously annoying. Fortunately, I learned how to use gibbed to experiment with face changes without restarting the game.
But mostly what bugs me about the facegen is that the textures of default Shepard (at least mshep) are so superiour to the textures for the facegen. In comparison, generated faces look a little plasticy and the hair is simply awful.

You should see the face code undearth all other options in face gen, write it down to piece of paper and recreate it when ever you like it.

How true! I can't tell you how many times I would make a Shep, write down the facecode just in case and start it up only to be unsatisfied and have to sit through that cutscene again and again. I'm terrible with eyes. In the generator I get them to look like this,

Also had this problem in ME1. I would spend time making Shepard look the way I thought I wanted, get to Eden Prime, see what she really looked like and start over. I didn't have quite that much problem in ME2, but once in awhile I wondered what went wrong.

When I start a new Shepard the usual process is to start the game, go get some tea while the intro is running. Fix a face and take screens of what choices I have made, play a little and take some screens in game. Turn of game and look at it. "Hmm... she looks really strange from the side. Oh well, I'll make a new try tomorrow". Start the process over again. Version 4 is usually good, then I have tweaked around enough to make her the way I wanted her to be. It isn't really that much fun. My hubby has a lot of fun with me sitting there fixing the perfect Shep and then starting the game. After having played 3 FemSheps through ME2, I have seen the intro quite a few times.

Ugh, I hated Oblivion's face generator tool.Demigod wrote...
The best one I have used was Oblivions I once spent two days and made a face that was almost mine. Very easy to use too.
If you moved one slider, others would follow. If it were only simpler, like DAO / DA2's face generator tool...
On top of that, the faces I created were automatically "altered" by the game: they looked older than I had made them.

I think for the most part, the screen where youre editing the character needs better lighting and maybe the option to move the camera around the character. Id like to see more hairstyles too, but i guess the whole, im in the marines thing kind of limits us to the military type haircuts.

You cannot be serious. Oblivion's facegen system was a travesty. Insanely powerful, but in ALL THE WRONG WAYS.Demigod wrote...

It was possible to make a good looking character after hours upon hours of tweaking, but only after researching the mechanics and intricacies of human aesthetic attraction, and even then you still had to look at the ugly faces of every NPC.

How about full 360 head rotation so we can see how those cheekbones will really look in-game. I never got them quite right despite repeated attempts.
I got my Shepard looking pretty darn good. After an hour and a half of watching the same unskippable cutscene over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
