I'm sure a lot of you have heard the rumors that there may be a Prothean squadmate in ME3. Here's some evidence that it is genuine:

•I recently realised something that Liara says on LotSB regarding the Shadow Broker's research into the Protheans:

Shepard: Why was he [the former Shadow Broker] still looking at Protheans? They gave us the warning and the Conduit at Ilos, but we've used those.
Liara: The Shadow Broker seemed to think that there was more out there. Perhaps the Protheans had other plans.
These 'other plans' might equal Prothean squadmate in ME3! :wizard:

•Also, imageshack.us/photo/my-images/541/skrmklipp8.png/ - Prothean stasis device?

•As Dexi said on this thread, the voice at the end of the ME3 trailer "we need a plan to stop them" sounds suspiciously like one of ME1's prothean voices.

Also worth noting is that the forcefield in the image is similar in use to the bubble that held Liara in ME1- and that was a Prothean invention.

Tbh though we know a lot about the Protheans, there really isn't much mystery left.

That statement by christ priestly carries very little weight. The devs also denied kasumi and arrival dlc before they were released.

That line could mean a lot of things though. It could just be the shadow broker looking for some Prothean technology. After all, there are still plenty of unexplored Prothean ruins it would seem.

Lol, this is actually the same exact line echoed about Kasumi, Arrival, PS3 version, etc about ME2.

The last person to believe on this forum is Chris. (hey you said it Chris :P)

The virtual aliens mentioned in the CDN were the first thing I thought of when I saw that, but I can see what you mean.

I've lost track of how many topics have been opened about the Prothean squadmate. Chris Priestly pretty much said that the mention of given character as an additional squaddie in some N7 Edition listings was simply "old text", so it seems the concept was trashed a long time ago. Speculation is always nice, but I wouldn't build up too much hope if I were you.

That be interesting, I wouldn;t mind if we had a Non-Human aka Prothean Squadmate. Yes we need more Non-Humans, This is SciFi and humans are kinda boring. I know there going to be more Info soon.

Please, God, no. I can tolerate a lot of insane stuff in Mass Effect. But preserving an individual for 50,000 years is just taking my suspension of belief, snapping it, and beating me with it.

There's a lot of rumours going around about this DLC character we're getting. Personally I think it'd be damn awesome if it were a Prothean. Recruit the last surviving member of the Prothean race to take swift vengeance against the Reapers? Hell yeah.

If not? Well then they still keep the mystery of whatever the hell they looked like. The best we can summarize about their appearance are those funky statues on Ilos and the Collectors.

The DLC is called"The Prothean"

It didn't say anything about the squadmate.

How do you tie-in a Prothean squadmate to lore/story?

So you have no problem with a brain dead Reaper being in orbit of a brown dwarf for 37 million years, and yet you have a problem with something like a Prothean being in stasis for 50k years? They built a Mass Relay of their own. They would have all sorts of technology more advanced that what today's races have.

Mystery was good in the first two games, but now the events start to unravel, and mystery is no longer an option

Ummm, yes it did. It says mission + a character.

Well that kind of implies:

A) Prothean Zombie/Prothean Husk
B) Vigil 2.0
C) Prothean Survivor

Take your pick I guess, Imma choose option C.
