Option C- Prothean war veteran survivor in stasis, sent by his people to aid organics in the future struggles against the reapers.

I think it could be a survivor from the few Prothean scientists who made it to the Citadel through the Conduit. Vigil told us that he could only speculate on their fate, but believed it was most likely they eventually starved to death. If I was one of those scientists, I'd have tried to do something more to help the races of the future against the Reapers. Perhaps putting myself in stasis somewhere deep in the Citadel for 50,000 years? Maybe that's crazy talk, but it seems to fit. :\\

Or Option D - None of the above. Restricting the options to support your conclusion, tsk tsk.

Suddenly Consort Shaira sounds relevant.

The DLC is called"The Prothean"

It didn't say anything about the squadmate.

Well that kind of implies:

A) Prothean Zombie/Prothean Husk
B) Vigil 2.0
C) Prothean Survivor

Take your pick I guess, Imma choose option C.

I'd pick a hybrid of options B and C.

It could be a Collector with awakened genetic memory for all we know.

But that orb looks Reaper - it's in that shade of red that only reaper tech has had so far, Sovereign, Derelict, Shepard's obviously reaper-tech renegade face,

Reaper Red - When Renegade Red just isn't jerky enough.

I'm sure a lot of you have heard the rumors that there may be a Prothean squadmate in ME3. I recently realised something that Liara says on LotSB regarding the Shadow Broker's research into the Protheans:

Shepard: Why was he [the former Shadow Broker] still looking at Protheans? They gave us the warning and the Conduit at Ilos, but we've used those.
Liara: The Shadow Broker seemed to think that there was more out there. Perhaps the Protheans had other plans.

These 'other plans' might equal Prothean squadmate in ME3! :wizard:

Also, imageshack.us/photo/my-images/541/skrmklipp8.png/ - Prothean stasis device?

Is that picture definitely from ME3? Have you got a source for it?

I ask, because it looks awfully like something not out of ME3, but out of the new X-Com shooter.

Also, we know what a Prothean stasis pod looks like. They're all down that tunnel on Ilos. They look like big metal tubes.

Please, God, no. I can tolerate a lot of insane stuff in Mass Effect. But preserving an individual for 50,000 years is just taking my suspension of belief, snapping it, and beating me with it.

It doesn't necessarily have to be an actual survivor from the last culling to be a Prothean. It could be a Jurassic Park -esque clone or something. The Protheans have already demonstrated that they could download information into organic minds. Put some machinery on a timer, have it whip up a clone and DL the info into it's brain, and hey presto! You've got yourself a bona fide useful Prothean companion.

Or we could all be completely wrong, and the DLC companion is Barney the Purple Dinosaur or something. Posted Image

I don't think it will be Barney - he'd have dominance issues with both Grunt and Wrex and then Shepard would have to get involved and the Normandy only just get retrofitted... wait... The Normandy 2 is a civilian ship... why do they have the right do anything to it again? They basically stole Shepard's ship when he turned himself in... WTF, Alliance??

Never mind, that's not the point - if Barney did become a team member, it would probably be at the cost of losing Grunt and/or Wrex and I doubt that'll happen.

Edit: -

I think their home world should be nuked from orbit... super-Krogans with Salarian inteligence with the morals of Volus? They'd be as bad as the Reapers.

Will all due respect to anyone who has lost faith in Bioware because of whatever, I will live, eat, sleep and breathe Mass Effect 3. I will bow down and worship Casey Hudson, and I will sacrifice many beers and much pizza to the Church of Gaming when ME3 comes out. They could include an Embrace Eternity bathroom decoration pack DLC and I would buy it. They could sell a fracking My Little Pony as a squadmate and I'd buy it. Just sayin.

lol "Having trouble secreting? Well, worry no more! New Asari "Eternity Flow" will have you feeling fantastic in no time!" *Female Asari Voice|*: "Just sit back... and Embrace Eternity!"

Edit:

Couldn't resist - threw this together.

I think an actual alive recruitable Prothean somehow diminishes the threat of the Reapers really. Sure, Earth is getting bombarded back into the stone age, but if Protheans can suddenly pop out of cryogenic storage 50k years later, it's almost as if suddenly the Reapers aren't very good at their job.

That's my only reservation about the concept.

It is possible because the Protheans stole some of the Reaper's tech, probably this is the only surviving Prothean scientist who travel through the Conduit? he/she trapped in some kind of stasis field similiar to Liara's on Therum?

Most of the Protheans were transformed into Collectors, maybe this Prothean can tell us why the Reapers did it?

It's one of the screens from this ME3 demo.

I may be wrong about this, but the only time I actually heard that said was on one of my play throughs where I did that DLC prior to going to the Collector's ship. I figured that he was on the verge of finding out what Shepard finds out; the Collectors are Protheans. Like I said, I may very well be wrong on that.

She says it even after you've completed the main plot.

Actually it's already confirmed that the reapers aren't 100% perfect at their jobs. The survivors on Ilos showed that- the reapers focused only on the prothean world's described in the Citadel's records (which is why the top secret science facility on Ilos was spared).

oh, I'm sure a prothean stuck in stasis for 50k years will have all sorts of humor about the situation. . .

either way, he/she should be an intersting character, and really serves to wrap up the mystery; helping to close the plot threads that the Protheans created for Shepard.

and yes, I do hope he/she is funny lol

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Prothean in the white sticky stuff Liara dropped on the previous Broker.
