I think that it is the dyson sphere Legion mentioned.

Legion never said it was an actual Dyson sphere.  Instead, it was said that that was the closest analogy for what the geth have been building.  Yeah, it is a megastructure, but the purpose of it is not to capture the entire energy output of a star or provide tons of habitable surface area.

I agree Drone - people would be like 'WTF it's a protean'. Maybe (and just speculation here) Chris wasn't lying about I being a typo and old, the idea for DLC prothean was scrapped...... And incorporated into the main game and a new DLC character was made :o dun dun dun...

Well most prothean squadmate threads I see on the forum focus on questioning the validity of the rumor through mainly looking at what the devs have said (specifically Chris Priestly's comments on it) or how it would fit into the game (would it be a good thing?/would it be a bad thing? etc.). I made this thread mostly to look at possible clues within the games that support the possibility of a prothean squadmate and I have summed some of them up in the OP (the main one is Liara's comment in the Shadow Broker dlc).

But evidence is evidence, in game or not.  And from what I can see from the tail end of this thread, the conversation was about if a prothean would fit into the game.

I just think your points are still relevant enough to join a conversation that hasn't been quiet for a month.

Just throwing that out thre, but what if "The Prothean" refers to maybe a memory disc of some kind like Kasumi's boyfriend's, or perhaps you're just looking for clues left by a Prothean, which will lead you to a new squadmate, that isn't a Prothean?

Even if there is a Prothean squadmate something like that should be in the main game not a DLC pack..........though Protheans have been dead for 50,000 years I don't think it would be possible for a prothean in stasis to survive for that long

Did you think Shepard could come back from the dead after 2 years?

My problem isn't so much that it's a Prothean, but that if it's a DLC character its effect on the game will be minimum at best. You probably won't even be allowed to have down-time conversations with it, and to me... Something like a Prothean with actual knowledge/survival tales from a reaper onslaught would be very prominant/involving to the story.

I reaaaallly don't want for the team to be like.. Oh my gosh, it's a Prothean. Alright Deshkibob, go sit in the cargo bay to rot.

I've been hoping since Vigil told us on Ilos that the last dozen or so Prothean Scientists disappeared and were presumed dead, that we would some how find them in stasis some where and get a boatload of back story on the Reapers.

I'm all for a Prothean squad mate, bring it on! lol.

This "prothean squadmate" won't have a organisiation that plans to rebuild his/her body

What if this isn't an ordinary Prothean, but the Prothean equivalent of "Carrot-top"?

lol, I find the possibility to encounter that the Protheans did in-fact survive to be a surprising twist. like the race survived

I think it could be a survivor from the few Prothean scientists who made it to the Citadel through the Conduit. Vigil told us that he could only speculate on their fate, but believed it was most likely they eventually starved to death. If I was one of those scientists, I'd have tried to do something more to help the races of the future against the Reapers. Perhaps putting myself in stasis somewhere deep in the Citadel for 50,000 years? Maybe that's crazy talk, but it seems to fit. :

Thats what I thought of when I heard ab00t this.

The Prothean version of Sheperd maybe, or even a pig nose like Vega! JK:P

There are like bazillion threads on this topic. Why do people keep making them, I will never know.

Uhm, because people would like to know whar they are paying for, when buying the CE?

Over one bazillion threads on this topic exist. Why do people keep making them where they have a perfectly functional SEARCH button?

Bad King wrote...
As for "why do people keep making them?" if you actually bothered to
read the OP you would notice that this thread is different to many of
the other threads that were created regarding the prothean squadmate.
The purpose of this thread is to look at possible clues for the
squadmate rather than just being "ZOMG Prothean squadmate!"

All the other threads covered it a hundred times over. There is no new info here. Only rehashing of what's already been discussed. The topic in question isn't that large that it needs two threads, let alone a dozen.

I don't think that's right. I recall myself (and plenty of other people) posting information about clues in at least two threads, shortly after E3. You probably didn't bother to read them fully.

I like this idea. Maybe, Shepard will find a prothean (not necessarily as a permanent squadmate), who will tell him something about what the reapers want and how they can be defeated.

Exactly my theory. Why, oh why would they dump such an important squaddie in every aspect to DLC? Just doesn't make sense. Hence why he's now in the vanilla game. :D
