I've been wanting to get this off my chest for a while now... and it's sort of on-topic...

Has anyone here seen Aliens? That, IMO, is how you portray a kickass woman.

Femshep is not done like that. Femshep walks like a man and tries to talk like a man, and it just fails on every level for me. If she's supposed to be a strong woman then please, BW, let her be a strong woman. As I said Ripley is a good example, but even Ash is a much more convincing "strong woman" character than femshep; if they were real people and I had to fist fight one of them based only on how tough they seem to be, I'd definitely rather take on femshep than Ash!

I usually think of my fshep as a combo of Ripley and Vasquez but when bw has her smashing a yahg around like a toy it totally looses that imagine. She could've kicked boxed it or went all thai fighter on the thing. Oddly enough that's really my biggest fight complain I've got on her when she does things like that I don't care about the whole shove spector girl out the window moment, or crush mouse's neck, those two scenes are plausible for me yahg boxing is not. I can find the yahg boxing plausible for mshep but barely the he has metal bones excuse works better here for me then me using that theory on fshep.

I don't see why it isnt possible for femShep or maleShep.

For a normal human femShep or maleShep? No way, it wouldn't happen, the Yahg would tear them apart...

But for rebuilt with a few extra parts and cerberus improvments Shep? Yes, its possible in the realm of Science Fiction. Thats the way I always look at it. Way more possible than being brought back to life from a pile of mush and bones and tubes, lol.

And I also think Ripley is a great female character and hero, I've always really liked Ripley. But shes honestly still probably more feminine than I am, so I still see my Shep as being entirely realistic.

I LIKE my Shep being more "butch". I am sick and tired of female characters that are all soft and feminine and girly and graceful and not allowed to be more brutal and forceful, that aren't allowed to charge into situations head on and fists flying.

Sounds to me like you need to just play the Himshep and be done with it.

Why? Since femShep is exactly the way I want her to be I see no reason to go for what is in my personal opinion the lesser of the two options, I prefer femShep and her VO.

In a perfect world femshep would have her own unique animations and her own unique fighting style. Sadly, this isn't a perfect world.

I did laugh at how femshep sat in her dress. When she's first wearing the dress and says to Kasumi "is there a reason I'm dressed like this?" (or words to that effect) it made me think she wasn't pleased to be wearing it. Generally I was happy with her walking an sitting animations but they should have changed when she was wearing the dress, wearing heels changes the way you walk and if Shep wasn't used to wearing heels tripping would have been more realistic than the way she walked. I actually would have loved it if she'd tripped and then complained that she hates high heels.

I like Shepard the way she is. I've always been a bit of a tomboy so I find femshep easier to relate to than the majority of female characters in video games that either act like little girls or like prostitutes (sometimes both which is disturbing). If Shep suddenly started walking like LadyHawke in ME3 it'd be really strange and seem completely out of character. But I would say Shep should either avoid dresses or learn to walk in heels.

Yea, having her Trip up in the heels would have been a nice touch and fitting, lol. XD

Yeah, I would like it if maleshep used punching and femshep used kicks.

As for when walking/running, she does need a bit of swing to 'dem hips' but maybe not as exaggerated as in DA2.

At first I thought this was one of these threads about how femShep jogs and sits. Although I don't like the way Shep jogs in ME2. Prefer ME1 there. I have no problem with how she sits though, or her general poses/stances.

I agree about the knuckle-cracking, I don't like it much. Makes more sense for a renegade I suppose, less so for paragon. Aren't they supposed to be more about diplomacy?

Generally I like the way femShep is, because it suits her, to me. FemHawke's more feminine style suited her, because she was supposed to be an ordinary woman (actually a noblewoman), who happens to get involved in other people's business/fights a lot. FemShepard's a soldier, so it makes sense that she seems tough and unfeminine.

when i saw the vid of femshep in LotSB rushing the shadowbroker and slamming the shield i laughed at how silly it looked.

shoulda had a more believable scene/animation for femshep than brute forcing it like maleshep.

i agree with you, having her be super butch and do all the same actions as maleshep comes across as awkward and goofy.

What would you have had her done? Cry at him? Femshep, because of her upgrades, is physically at Krogan level strength. She can brute force anything she wants.

read the damn thread. damn people wtf?
i already said what i would have had her do... but i guess you cant be bothered to read so you're going to comment on a post on one or two rather than look to see if the damn post has been adressed.

and no. shepard is not at krogan level strength, whats wrong with you? stop making stuff up to suit your own needs...

The fact that Shepard is able to hold her own in a physical struggle with the shadowbroker (atleast for time) is proof enough that she is at krogan level strength.  Also the fact that she can carry and fire the Claymore shotgun and Widow Sniper file. These weapons were not made for humans and would shatter the bones of a normal human if fired. Shepard causually moves heavy beams like they weigh nothing, headbutts a krogan, It is very clear that Shepard's upgrades allow her to operate at a level that is way beyond a normal human.

Like others have mentioned she's not an ordianry human she's a cyborg therefore normal rules don't apply. All that gender stuff goes pretty much out the window. Because Shepard is barely human anymore.

You just don't seem to understand that.

shes a woman in the military , the marines specifically. she serves on the front line so she not going to be lady like. this is "reality" shes going to be manly as hell. look at woman in combat roles in military. They come off as really mainly out of necessity. the "prettier" ones usually have desk jobs , were they do a lot of sitting and/or typing. were there that is secretary , radar operator, pilot, truck driver. technician, i really dont get under my skin because cause i understand why she does it
