So, I just finished my first insanity run while playing as a Sentinel and after I learned the tricks of the class, it was a ton of fun!  Talk about feeling almost immortal.  I pretty much played the class as a CQC using the SMG and melee attacks for most of the run.  Which, brings me to my question...

I'm going to start a full FemShep run now and was wondering what you all would suggest.  I've tried the Adept and really enjoy the CC ability of the class but it just feels rather slow most of the time.  The RP concept for my FemShep is that of a semi-renegade and rather aggressive so I had considered either the Vanguard or a Soldier though I have never played either class long enough to know what special skill I should pick up.

Between the two, what would you all suggest as an aggressive, fast-paced class to play and what special skill should I use?  Either that or is there a style of Adept that is a bit more aggressive than trying to CC targets?

Thanks!

Both can be played aggressive and fast-paced. The question is would you like to use biotic powers or more weapons?

With both classes, their bread and butter move is Adrenaline Rush and Charge, but the Vanguard has Shockwave and Pull, which can help CC when Charge is not the best option. But AR is more flexible and can also be used to fall back to cover if the going gets rough.

Both classes will definitely use Inferno, and both can easily stay with a one-point bonus power.

With the Soldier the two best options is either going Revvy or Widow. That could dictate which AR evolution you will use. For example, Hardened AR with the Revvy works nicely, and Heightened AR with the Widow is thus better on average.

And with the Vanguard the question is would you prefer the Claymore or another shotgun? The Claymore can easily 1S1K most enemies, but each shotty can work depending on how you prefer to play.

Edit: I forgot to mention that both classes are best served by using Squad Cryo and that with the Soldier, you can choose any combo for the squad and have little problem completing the game on Insanity.

With the Vanguard bringing someone for Warp bombs is icing on the cake, using Pull (or Slam, which the Soldier can also go with).

With the Vanguard then, is the Geth shotgun not a good option to use? I thought with it's power up option that it might be the best 1 shot damage weapon.

That might be true, but it has an unhealthy shot delay due to that very fact that can get you into trouble.

If you can consistently perform the Reload Glitch, the Claymore is all you ever need. Ammo efficient, effective, good looking.

The only issue with the GPS is how it charges up the Shot, but it is a fine weapon to use with the Vanguard.

I myself have used it until I get the Claymore.

At any rate, Shotguns are nicely balanced in ME2.

So which you choose would depend on what you prefer.

I happen to like how the Claymore sounds ^_^
And it performs well too.

Reload glitch?  I've heard about that before but never really looked into it.  Can you tell me what that is again or shoot me a topic link?

It's often called a glitch, but I personally think it's simply a hidden feature like being able to feather the trigger on the Shuriken.

Here's a recent thread on performing the trick on the 360: http://social.biowar...1/index/7611664

And on the second Player Note, there seems an adequate explanation of how to do it in general: http://masseffect.wi...re#Player_Notes

Just finished my first Insanity run as well, using an AR Adept. Next run will either be a CC Vanguard w. Mattock or a Shotgun Engineer w. Capacitor Helmet (b/c I fear nothing!).

The best shotguns in my opionion is Claymore or Scimitar, Eviscerator is a bit after since it is between those shotgun in everything ammo clips, DPS and damage.

Scimitar is easier to until you learn the reload trick perfectly which can take some time.

Just to add (I skimmed, so if someone already mentioned it, sorry for the repeat), once you get the Claymore on the DCS, practice the reload trick before continuing on. There is a weapon kiosk at that point in the mission, so you have access to unlimited ammo, just access the kiosk and your ammo will be reset. This is the best way to master the Claymore that I am aware of.

You can also go to Alcheria- you can access it even after the Normandy Crash Site mission.

It's also very fitting to perfect your weapon for revenge in the hallowed grave of your fallen comrades.

I almost beat ME2 on Insanity, but then I got stuck on the planet with that one quarian chick being attacked by fast moving varrens who dies after being hit twice. It wouldn't have been an issue, but whenever I go on a new mission I constantly feel the need to delete my saves ,then resave there...

unfortunately in that situation it got me trapped and like after an hour of re-trying that mission I gave up.

That mission is awful.  I've done it once and never attempted it again, as defending passive NPC's has always irritated me in video games.  I believe I used the Arc Projector, but I'm sure there are plenty of other strategies that work.  I paused a lot and assessed the situation as it evolved.
