right click on your nwnmain, nwtoolset, and nwn exe files in your nwn dir and go to the compatibility and click on the win xp service pack 3 mode and on down towards the bottom select run as administrator. do this for all exe files. maybe this may help.

Diamond edition is already fully updated isn't it?

@simomate : you are probably right. If you want to make sure run nwupdate.exe (in the main folder of the game) and it should tell you about your version of the game(you DO NOT NEED to hit the update button).

The diamond disk edition is not patched. There is a patch on the disk you have to run and then you need the 1.69 update. Also check you have done everything in the Guide to installing
Good luck

I can't remember when the movies play on those, since I had to disable mine, but there's always a chance that's what the problem is. At the least, it wouldn't hurt to rule it out.
In the nwn.ini file, the three lines to try playing with are:
SafeMovie=0
Disable Intro Movies=1
Disable Movies=1
That's my settings under win7 for the movies, try disabling them and see if that makes a difference, or if running them in the SafeMovie mode does.

Just as an experiment, try turning UAC off before starting the game. I had problems due to the confirmation window not being visible.

If I understand you correctly, everything runs fine until you reach the module selection screen, right? You select a module and then the game crashes?
Can you safely rule out that it's connected to the modules themselves? Which modules in particular were you trying to load? Can you load the Official Campaign without issues? And what about the Premium modules that came with the Diamond Edition?
