I agree with this guy. Except that I never though much of the Gears of War franchise at all.

Eh, Gears has done good with graphics technically, and very solid, well-made third-person shooter gameplay. But, aside from that, not much. It would be unfair to group it with the likes of Call of Duty.
I'll stop there, I don't want to digress into a different, and irrelevant, topic.

It's polished, which is more than ME2 could claim as a cover based TPS. But in terms of story and characterization it was essentially all that this trailer attempted to be. That is to say,"look how BAD ASS our hero is!!!!!" It's meaningless unless there's some substance in the actual game to back it up. Which in Gears of War there is not, as it's all really just intended to be about badassery.
