I love ME1 and ME2, altough, the little laptop I used was already sweating and out of breath after ME2,
I said "its oké, my dear little laptopy, i'll put the settings down, No more annoying shadows for you!". Computer said "jeej!"
But I am worried, If ME2 already strained my laptopy, will I be able to play ME3? Any news on that?
Frowny face
ME3 system specs?

Mass Effect 3's graphics don't look truly overhauled. All I can tell you is that the game will probably have a lot more render distance for areas that you'll probably not be able to access, but only serve as aesthetic. There seems to be a bit more blur, and a few model textures on the faces have been increased in resolution it seems, and I doubt they'll suddenly make every face on NPCs detailed, so there probably isn't a worry for a lot more high resolution on everything.
Other than that, regular environment textures don't seem relatively different, or a general overload on things like bloom, or HDR. I'm going to say that if you were able to run Mass Effect 2 at maximum, or medium settings , you will be able to run Mass Effect 3. That is my estimate. I don't know about you, but this talk about graphics being improved don't really stick with me, it really does look the same. Not that I have a problem with that, but people are under the impression that it's a giant overhaul.
Just keep in mind, this is a game that has to be sold to a console audience. So they cannot go overboard with everything, otherwise they'd end up exceeding the console's limitations, and frying the damn things. Unless they cater to the PC audience and improve the graphics drastically from the console versions, then you might have an issue of hardware.

Something around this, probably.
In one of the Q&A's they said that they are trying to keep the PC specs close to that of ME2.

Expect heavy lighting effects lense flaires etc, even if they say its gonna be around ME2 specs, they outright lie into your face xd
It's gonna be 50% up, both cpu and gpu. It's still a console port, but so was DA2, ran the first game on max with with 4x AA, but the second game i had to run on medium graphic settings, even though it was supposed to be 20% higher.....
Heck i can run Crysis 2 on med, no AA.

I don't think it's going to be by that much at all. I'm sure there is room for improvment, but I doubt anything utterly drastic is going to be done.
By the way, I recall Crysis 2 isn't really as graphically heavy as its predecessor. Especially considering that Crysis 2 was almost basically a port in many ways. Generally, if something is a console port, without optimizing it for PC gameplay, you'll end up with some pretty hefty requirements, despite your possible decent specs to begin with. Just look at GTA IV, it was extremely difficult at the time when it came out for PC to run everything at maximum. I don't blame it completely on required specs, but GTA IV for the PC was one of the worst ports to PC to date.
