Most versatile, and most experience.

Unless in this real firefight there are xenomorphs (hey, it could happen). In that case Wrex goes.

Wrex & Grunt, assuming that it's a real life firefight where enemies are just humans with no biotics. Or Miranda & Ash, because there's nothing cooler than having two hot chicks as bodyguards.

Me= Vangaurd So I usually keep Team Dextro (Garrus [Sniper] and Tali [Tech]) with me at all times. been that way ever since the first game.

It would highly depend on whether I can or can't ask for an autograph afterwards. Although, come to think of it, in either case it would be Garrus and Jack.

Probably Legion for having better than normal reflexes, and Grunt so there would be someone up front to die before me. I'm terrible at shooting. I either miss, or hit something lethal.

Garrus+Wrex, obvious choice for me.

For ME1 I always felt like I could trust any of the squad-mates to watch my back. Each one seemed to have their own reasons to make my job successful. I usually felt most comfortable with Kaidan & Wrex and they went with me on most all of the missions.
For Mass Effect 2 I felt that because Cerberus wants something from me I could always trust Miranda and Jacob to watch my back at least until I got the mission done. Jacob and Miranda was also used to working with each other,but I liked to switch my Squad-mates up more in ME2.
Overall I felt like I could trust Grunt ,Garrus and Tali the most. I also felt I could trust Samara, Kasumi, Jack and Thane. Mordin and Legion I felt were spy's and Zaeed I disliked.

I know Garrus hands down. The guy is the whole package. Overload, concussive shot, sniper and assault rifle. He knows his guns. Observant as heck. I trust him with my life. And makes hilarious sarcastic comments. 
Anyone who can make me laugh during combat and steal my kills constantly has respect from me. lol

The second person......Between Wrex, Tali, Thane, Mordin & Kasumi! I alternate. Depending on the actual RL firefight i'd be going into would depend who the second person is
