Actually it's the gays that get upset about it. They don't want people to have the option to "not choose" them as being part of their game :bandit:

I'm a straight girl, engaged to be married.

I play a gay manshep.

Toggles are for chumps.

Be sure to ask for the "toggle" specifying class, place of birth and personality background as well as how Shepard looks to be removed too.

After all, "Toggles are for chumps."

I asume you want the forming of these choices to be made during gameplay as well, seeing that they are just as intrical to his personality and background as his sexual orientation is, correct?

Go figure, just like people of particular color wouldn't want racists to have the option to "not choose" them as being part of their game.

So in your opinion they are just bringing Shepard into line to make him the way he should have been from the start?

No. They're just bringing options into line. For some players, Shepard was already bi/gay from the start even without options (for his male form only of course). Role playing.

Straight person here, who supports S/S romances and intends to play them.

Please do not assume that straight people don't support S/S options.

I find it funny that you make such statements when you are the one showing predjudice and "petty discomfort".

You clearly show that you are intolerant of anything you disagree with, even if you have no clue about what you are actually disagreeing with (as is clear from your twisting of things into being something they aren't.)

Grow up. Really. <_<

Petty discomfort with what?  Your infallible logic?

You are basically accusing people of being intolerant when they don't agree with your disagreements.

Yes, I am prejudiced against assholes and intolerant of opinions that support intolerance. I don't really have any problem with that.

I was wondering when people would resort to pull the "racist card"...

If anything, you guys (and by "you guys" I am meaning the peeps in general here that pour hate on anyone that dare to disagree with the changes made to the game series in this regard) are showing all too well why decent discussions are impossible about the subject.

Wait, wait.

We're being insulting and hateful for stating that straight people also support the s/s option.. we're the ones being called intolerant? Hang on, give me a minute to work this one out..

Not really. But I guess if people WANT to read something into a sentence, they WILL read that into it.

In that case I might as well have written "Poly likes sugar" and the response would have been the same.

His reply had nothing to do with what I posted, which I why I said he misread my post. Appearantly you misread it too. Go figure.

Since this seems to be the main s/s thread for the time being, I'll just leave this here:

Some of us want to be able to talk to crew members without being railroaded into s/s romances. I see the word "optional" being thrown around but given the track record of ME1 and ME2 this is a laughable notion. Ever tried to avoid a Sheploo romance with Ash in ME1? It's pretty damn difficult. Even if you don't talk to her at all, she still confronts you with Liara and tells you to choose between them. In ME2 you need only say that it's nice to see Miranda smile, and the two start flirting. Try using the dialogue wheel to tell Jack that you want to get to know her, and Shepard interprets this as "I want to know you before I f*** you". This is hardly what I'd call "optional". The only "option" for those who want to avoid unwanted romances is to not speak to the crew at all, and in ME1 even that doesn't work, as previously mentioned. So please, stop with all the "optional" BS. It's fine to say you want s/s, but don't claim it's optional when the last two games prove it's anything but.

And no, that was not a racist statement, just in case you were assuming again.

I can dig it with a shovel I guess. Still kind of seems like they are changing Male Shep a little bit but I realize that isn't a universally accepted viewpoint. It's still better for RPG that they added the option and I've said that from the start but it feels like a change to character. They probably should have just let Male Shep rub crewmate p...enis from ME1 onward. It's not like gay people can't shoot geth or punch mouthy reporters or headbutt Krogans too.
