Ah yes, "male homosexuals." We have dismissed that claim.

No. They're just bringing options into line. For some players, Shepard was already bi/gay from the start even without options (for his male form only of course). Role playing.MonkeyLungs wrote...
So in your opinion they are just bringing Shepard into line to make him the way he should have been from the start?
I can dig it with a shovel I guess. Still kind of seems like they are changing Male Shep a little bit but I realize that isn't a universally accepted viewpoint. It's still better for RPG that they added the option and I've said that from the start but it feels like a change to character. They probably should have just let Male Shep rub crewmate p...enis from ME1 onward. It's not like gay people can't shoot geth or punch mouthy reporters or headbutt Krogans too.

Since this seems to be the main s/s thread for the time being, I'll just leave this here:
Some of us want to be able to talk to crew members without being railroaded into s/s romances. I see the word "optional" being thrown around but given the track record of ME1 and ME2 this is a laughable notion. Ever tried to avoid a Sheploo romance with Ash in ME1? It's pretty damn difficult. Even if you don't talk to her at all, she still confronts you with Liara and tells you to choose between them. In ME2 you need only say that it's nice to see Miranda smile, and the two start flirting. Try using the dialogue wheel to tell Jack that you want to get to know her, and Shepard interprets this as "I want to know you before I f*** you". This is hardly what I'd call "optional". The only "option" for those who want to avoid unwanted romances is to not speak to the crew at all, and in ME1 even that doesn't work, as previously mentioned. So please, stop with all the "optional" BS. It's fine to say you want s/s, but don't claim it's optional when the last two games prove it's anything but.

Not really claiming, just stating for a fact.
Am I making you uncomfortable?

You don't want to have a particular group of people in your game just because of their innate characteristic which doesn't hurt you in a bit. I don't need to pull any card. The argument you bring into the discussion is irrational hate/dislike in the very first place. Yet I've been still polite to you so stop accusing everyone of hating on you when you bring present a hateful argument in the very first place.SalsaDMA wrote...
I was wondering when people would resort to pull the "racist card"...
If anything, you guys (and by "you guys" I am meaning the peeps in general here that pour hate on anyone that dare to disagree with the changes made to the game series in this regard) are showing all too well why decent discussions are impossible about the subject.

I agree on this one.
You should be able to tell any crewmember regardless of sex that everything needs to remain professional and conversations from that point on should reflect that.
Honestly there should be a friendship path that is comparably strong as the romance path for all crewmates. You should be able to become close and learn more about them without any romance involved.

We're being insulting and hateful for stating that straight people also support the s/s option.. we're the ones being called intolerant? Hang on, give me a minute to work this one out..

Honestly, you should have stopped posting a while back, you're just embarassing yourself and consistently getting owned. Not that it's not entertaining, mind you.

Only by your inability to read the insults you made yourself, or those of the other posters wanting to pour hate my way for daring to speak out my disagreement on the subject.
That you even state your fallacious reading skill makes you claim a fact to exist which anyone reading the thread can verify does not so is just.... I don't know... fascinating in it's own way I guess....

If we go by dummied out content -both for ME 1 and ME 2-, that was the intention from the start. However, said content had to be cut for unstated reasons.MonkeyLungs wrote...
