Disappointment...

There's only one thing that really irks me about this game. And that's the lack of potential for gay and lesbian relationships. It's not realistic. In fact it's downright close-minded. It's 2011 and while homosexuals are sometimes still prejudiced against in some parts of the world, I would think that a game that takes place almost 200 years in the future would be more progressive.
I've seen several clips of things that had supposedly taken place with Liara T'Soni in the first game (which unfortunately I wasn't able to play), but apparently Bioware has made the claim that Liara isn't female, so a lesbian relationship with her isn't possible- even though the codex claims that all Asari ARE female. How can Bioware make one claim and then state something completely contradictory to that claim?
I'm a straight male, but I've got a lot of gay and lesbian friends, and frankly speaking I find this lack of respect for the LGBT community completely OFFENSIVE!

Where do some homosexuals get this sense of entitlement?

NO, as far as i know homosexual relationship is still a minority and there are only a handful of companions so i say it's very realistic and call this a disappointing ?, well what's the meaning of this thread exactly ?.

2. Liara is mono-gendered..Then means for her it's not gay, for you though it is.
3. F/F,M/M romances have been confirmed for ME3......Where have you been.
4. Someone get the confirmed feature topic stickied again.

I'm just stating the fact that I am disappointed by Bioware's choice to limit the romantic interactions in ME2 (and technically ME1) to strictly heterosexual based relationships. True, I can be happy that same sex relationships will be an option in ME3, but I don't know if I'll be able to get it, or if my com would be able to play it.
I don't really care for forums though because people like this are typical. Someone poses an idea to your that threatens your standard definition of what is or what should be and all of a sudden you're on a witchhunt. Be happy with yourselves you close minded jackasses. This is a forum dedicated to a great game, but you've polluted it with your sick prejudiced attitudes. Grow up and realize that this isn't the dark ages. There's nothing wrong with someone being gay or lesbian.

No-one said there was anything wrong with being gay, because there is nothing wrong with being gay.
Read people's posts and get over yourself.

Please, nobody is feeling threatened here, except maybe you, read the responses again. Your complaining about something that has already been addressed. Open your eyes and realize that you should be happy they include homosexuality in their games at all. How many game developers do that? No prejudice here, just annoyance with a redundant complaint.Kazu-Ichi wrote...
I don't really care what any of you say. Whether I feel "entitled" or whatever, and maybe this thread has been made before, again I don't care.

You want same sex romance? go play the Witcher 2. This is not this kind of game.

I absolutely LOVE Mass Effect 2. It's honestly one of the best games I've ever played (if not THE BEST). Everything from the graphics to the gameplay to the storyline was absolutely spectacular.

This post is sums up everything that's wrong with the Bioware forums.
Because of this place, Tali will become a lesbian, and Garrus will become gay. Because of fans, some great characters will be given the Anders treatment.
It's too late in this series for Gay romance, alright? It's just going to damage the consistency and realism of the game unless it's done well enough.
What, you think everyone is bisexual or gay in real life? I've hardly ever met anyone who is gay, except for when I go to the occasional Gay Pride parade.

Optional content is optional.
Likely with new characters.
Getting tired of repeating this.
