Well, will your Shep be, 1 remorseful, but defending the actions, 2 will s/he be an unrepentant jerk with no sympathy at all, or 3 just plain insane/obstinate; for example

judge: Cam. Shepard, why did you destroy that Batarian system and over 300000 Batarians

Shep 1 I am sorry for all the live lost and if I could have saved them I would, but I had to stop the reapers

2. i wanted to know how many Batarians it take to screw in a light bulb and now I know, 300000 and 1, 1 to screw in the light bulb and the rest to die and then the other one dies too.

3  what's a Batarian I've nver heard of one before.

Well what do you think also What Would Your Shepard Do?

Have Tali provide a recording from Legion's databank as evidence that shows Shep was to busy going around giving "this is my favorite store on the citadel" endorsements at the time of that unfortunate incident.

Shepard: "They were just Batarians, who gives a crap about them?"

Seriously I'm tired of explaining the reaper stuff to these guys, they won't listen anyway. I'll wait patiently until the reapers invade, thank Harbinger for their timely arrival, then get the hell out of there...

I'll do what I did at Tali's trial. I'll choose the blue/red paragon/renegade option, and BS my way out by appealing to the crowd or something while presenting no evidence or valid argument.

You know, in the 80's Syria did the same thing they're doing now; they basically shelled a city killing over (estimated) 20,000 people in the process. A journalist once asked the brother of the Syrian president whether it was correct that an estimated 20,000 civilians had died in that city (Hama) and he responded: '20,000? I though we had killed over 38,000!'.

You see, that's how my Shepard's gonna respond.

Chat about the weather and stall for time until the Reapers show up to rescue me.

Heh you're right. Shepard has experience getting someone out of court while providing no evidence of their innocence.

Miranda and I will leave the Normandy and install a chip in Shepard that does nothing beforehand, and at the last minute, break into my trial and dramatically blame everything on the fake loyalty chip.

Futhermore, Miranda will confess to having altered me for nefarious purposes and having been monitored on the Normandy so as to make sure she didn't take the chip out. She will ask for forgiveness and I will grant it in such a syrupy manner that it will be obvious to all parties that I am not in my right mind. Technicians will find monitoring devices on board the Normandy and find nothing to contradict this theory. An alliance doctor will remove the fake chip and all will be well.

I'm just hoping the trial itself is a good length of dialogue with various dialogue options... I don't want the first few minutes of the game to be 3-4 minutes of dialogue followed by an immediate invasion and straight to the action.

I want the drama and suspense to build, lets us enjoy the beginning with some solid narrative and not be in a hurry to throw us into the fray of fighting right out of the gate... I'd like a good 10 minutes of solid dialogue at the least before any bullets start flying.

The "What would i do" Shepard would likely blame the Council/Alliance for giving her no back-up in the first place. Things coulda turned out differently if she had some support in the damn fight against the Reapers for once... But nooooo.

Though i doubt that will be an option so it'll probably just Criss Cross between Para/Rene choices, whatever feels right really. >.>

Jury: "We find the defendant, Commander Shepard, GUILTY of genocide!
Anderson: "OBJECTION!"
Judge: "Denied."
*Reapers burst through the ceiling and cause general pandemonium*
Shepard: *Trollface* Problem, judge?"

Do we even have to defend ourselves properly? Halfway through the trial people will have other stuff on their mind anyway.

Council Lawyer: Commander Shepard you have been accused of being a member of Cerberus…

Shepard: Ah, yes, “Cerberus.” The former Alliance black ops organization allegedly gone rogue and now seeks human advancement by any means necessary. I have dismissed that claim.

Council: Really? Then explain that Cerberus symbol on the side of your ship. And on the uniforms of the crew.  And the armor, and everything else on board.

Shepard: Is that the symbol for Cerberus? I thought it was the logo for Cord-Hislop Aerospace. I make a few extra credits providing advertising space for them.

Lawyer: Your crew are all known member of Cerberus.

Shepard: Really? My security team is composed mostly of nonhumans. The fact that you believe a human-centric terrorist group like this"Cerberus" would tolerate aliens on their ships shows just how fragile your mental
state really is.

Lawyer: Sir, this is a serious matter. You stand accused of destroying an entire star system as well as its Mass Relay…

Shepard: Everyone knows that’s impossible. The batarians are a very charismatic and persuasive people.  They convinced the Alliance that I was responsible. Just as they convinced you.

Lawyer: And you have an illegal, not to mention unshackled AI on board your ship.

Shepard: There's no evidence to say it's anything but a sophisticated VI. I tried to get one of those VIs that talk like me that are being sold on the Citadel. Never did receive it. So I made due.

Shepard: Look. I believe that you believe these charges. But that doesn’t make them true.

Lawyer: ::head explodes::

I'll bribe the jury with the remaining credits I had from ME1 that didn't transfer to ME2.
