Harbinger: So you'll do nothing about this? Sovereign is dead, as are the Collectors. Why won't you address this problem?
Reaper Council: Ah, yes, "Shepard." The immortal organic allegedly lurking in Council space. We have dismissed those claims.
Harbinger: Goddamnit.
MEANWHILE, IN COUNCIL SPACE
Shepard: Whoa. I just got a chill.
Turian Councilor: I suppose it was the doing of the "Reapers"?
Shepard: **** you

We're you the one that wrote that in the youtube video I linked? One of the top rated comments.

Turian Counselor needs to be at the trial...HE NEEDS TO BE THERE
That's the only way to get back at him with his own air quotes

Of course the chances of that are slim to nil

Here's hoping for him completely losing it and turning into a vegetable after having his nice little reality shattered.

He'll annoy us even further by saying he knew about the Reaper threat before Shepard did.

If this happens I will hog tie him and give him to the Reapers. :bandit:

No no! Like this!

Turian Councillor: Shepard, Palavan is under attack, we desperately need your help.
Shepard: Under attack? By who?
TC: The Reapers!
Shepard: Ah yes, "Reapers".

I'm convinced the Turian Councillor is the deus ex machina to end the Reaper thread. So great is his disbelief and finger quote power, Shep will actually realize this, weld him onto the SR-2's hull and fly straight at the Reaper fleet. At the pointed time, the Councilor will obviously do this "Ahh yes, Reapers" bit and the whole Reaper fleet will vanish.

Bud Light salutes you, Mr. I Can Will It Away With Finger Quotes Turian Councillor Guy.

lots of good humour in this thread so far, and yes I admit there is something in me that wish I can do just what proposed so far in this thread Image IPB

On a serious note, the council is the weakest part of the ME universe so far, to the point of ... let just be fair, they're just lame writing. It's not common for game to put politicians in a maggot spot in order to glorify the military men but there gotta be a limit to it until it become senseless and demeaning the story as a whole. I can't believe there can be worse politician in a game then those from the front mission series.

So I seriously hope that there "lameness" in ME2 was a fake, maybe they were reluctant and playing Shepard for fool because of his connection to Ceberus, maybe they were actually doing something. Of course doing something doesn't mean they're doing enough, but my god, I would have to fight the urge of shooting someone if it turns out they are really NOT doing anything. Again, at that point the lameness would get out of the characters and pin right down on the writing. So yeah, whoever in charge of writing the story for the council, you have a red dot painting on your forhead ... no pressure, 'kay?Image IPB

Wrex, the new Krogan Councillor: "I'm so gonna use your face plate as an ash tray you toolbag."

Volus Councillor: "You let THAT idiot..." *wheeze* "in before ME!?" *wheeze*

Elcor Councillor: "With exasperated shock. I think Commander Shepard should strap your dumb Turian ass to the front of his vessel and parade you around the galaxy."

I vote for this.

The Turian councillor, a living legend. My question being: how far into Mass Effect 3 will the Turian Councillor deny the existence of the Reapers? Will they have to show up at the citadel again? Will he believe video footage of Earth ("Loose Change", it's obvious the Alliance has edited this to hide a secret weapons project!)? Will he believe they exist when they show up at his backyard?

Will he ever believe?

I am half expecting to beat ME3 and the councillor to give a speech about how the "Geth" threat has finally been delt with. And once and for all, the "Reaper rumors" can be put to rest.

I think that during ME3 events the Turian Councillor will be on vacation, and he will get back when the invasion's over.

The Turian Councillor is a source of lulz, one more reason to save the Council in ME1

This.  He will definitely win the game for you by disbelieving the Reapers out of existence.

No, but really, I seriously think there should be a clip toward the end of the credits of him standing on some... space balcony making airquotes, Reaper after Reaper just popping out of view.  "Punch a mountain... in SPACE" style.

This is in your hands now, Bioware dudes and ladies.

I have so much love for this discussion!
Laughing at it painfully reminded me I'd hurt my ribs today.

I agree, the Turian Councillor is far too stubborn to be indoctrinated and I hope he'll use air quotes till the end :P

Reapers appears and the Turian Councilor says, "This is clearly a dream. Shepherd is still wrong, and when I wake up none of this would have happened."

Maybe that's how we'll defeat the Reapers. The turian councilor will simply deny their existence and since a councilor (especially the turian councilor!) couldn't possibly be wrong, the Reapers can only accept the fact they never really existed.

Well - at least the Turians are safe. The Reapers only harvest advanced life...

So - I suppose the Counselor's ignorance saved his people.

Well played Turian Counselor... well played.
