In ME1, both Ash and Kaidan were supposed to be bi. But for some reason they had to cut it out.

If Faux News can get upset about a little side-breast, and some ass in a "sex" scene, imagine how they would feel if BioWare promoted the "homosexual lifestyle" in ME.

Um, if they make everyone gay or bi, they ARE promoting the homosexual lifestyle.

>Implying you can promote sexuality. So if gay sex just gets enough good marketing it will turn you gay ? Pluuueeease

Mass Effect has had homosexuality since day 1. People just seem to forget that because it's lesbianism.

Asari don't count remember? They aren't female! They just look female, talk female, act female and happen to have blue skin.

Didn't you hear? Liara is mono-gendered, so it's not really gay.

/sarcasm

I hate that argument...

Proof?

Ashley

Kaidan

There's more on Youtube.

Male Shepard - Originally intended to be a woman?
Male and Female Shepard likely have the same script. Recorded voice lines do not prove that they ever wrote Ashley/Kaidan as bisexual.

Each gender has lines for it, at it is not just re used from their same sex romances, they mention names the.

Edit: Hm, hadn't seen that Collider, in any case I'm no expert on this, i just thought it was common knowledge that all romances started out bi in all bio games :)

DA:2 was just the first where it wasn't cut :P

Sir, you can promote ANYTHING, from hair care products to religious views.

And no, it wouldn't turn me gay, but some others are not as "stubborn" as I am.

I don't agree. The lines are recorded, but that's different from intention. It's very useful to have male and female Shepard read off the same script in case you decide to implement x romance. Otherwise, if you didn't have those lines ready beforehand, you'd have to call up the voice actors again, which is inconvenient.

For this moment, the devs no confirm Ashley/ Kaidan are bi, You can't speculate or confirmate without answer for Bioware

Since when do people need confirmation to speculate? Isn't that sort of a contradictory statement?:P

Oh yes, and I will speculate:devil: that we will NEVER get any sort of confirmation. Hell, our boy Casey may admit they made everyone bi after release, but not before. They will simply let you discover that on your own.

Kaidan and Ashley... Gay?

Conspiracy, Blasphemy, Insanity, Supernaturality!
There is one confirmed I think already. So there is one for females (Asari that looks female, but aren't actually) and one for males ;(
So don't ruin the game by turning it to DA2 in the space. Kaidan and Ashley remain straight.

I wouldn't say a female character romancing an Asari is 'lesbianism.'

Of course you wouldn't. I suppose you wouldn't count Kelly either since there technically wasn't any actual SEX, just some cuddling and naked ass shaking. :P As Kaidan put it so eloquently in ME1 when he says he didn't realize you prefer other women and Liara said she's not exactly a woman: "Yeah, but you look like a....... er."

Sure, I'll take it :)

Anyway: Personally i wouln't bet towards them becoming bi, it's chracter breaking, and i just plan on Romancing Liara and Garrus for the females and Tali for the male in any case.

re: Liara
Liara is not a woman.
Liara is female.
Fact. "Woman" is a societal gender term for which the asari have no use.

A female Shepard, in order to be attracted to Liara, either has A) lesbian tendencies, B) an overpowering fetish for blue skin and/or head appendages which lead to lesbian tendencies.
Therefore it is a lesbian relationship.

re: Kaidan / Ashely
They were never established as not being bisexual anywhere other than in your own heads. Ashley starting a relationship with a female Shepard in ME3 would not be character breaking. It would only break the pre-established assumptions you personally made for her, and as such it is no different than Garrus starting a relationship with Shepard in ME2 after not being available in ME1.

It's really simple. Not every bisexual is an equal-opportunity bisexual. Some have stronger preferences towards one gender; some are willing to start a relationship with one gender sooner than the other gender.
If your assumptions about these characters' sexualities are that important to your ability to see them as good characters then I must wonder if maybe there's something else behind all these vehement protests against "making them gay" when they were never strictly established as being straight in the first place.

Jeez, it seems like the only thing people are looking forward to in this game are the romances.

that's because none of us have any romance in real life.:)

 QFT! lol...

Yeah no kidding! ^_^

:lol::lol::lol:

Anyways, I hope we avoid the "Everyone is bi!" rule from Dragon Age. Not only does it make it unbelievable but there are still people complaining about how they can get ninjamanced by Zevran and Anders. Rather have it like it one in Origins, one strictly hetero character and one bi character. You know... sorta like real life:mellow:

Pretty much. I'm still hoping BW won't make all squadmembers in ME3 shephard-sexual, though. It'll just end up like DA2 and feel...bland. Why not make one or two NPCs exclusively gay ?

weren't they originally supposed to be bi?

I mean, you can even find the FULLY recorded dialogue for it on youtube, thanks to some people digging up the content.

and even so; what's the big problem if they are?

I have serious problems with tolerance and not letting the world know I don't like bisexuality and homosexualism so I will remain silent... OPS I did it again!

DA2 totally sold out by making every character bi. I will be very dissapointed if they do that with ME3. I realise that BI-oware is trying to make everyone happy but at what cost? The more they water down their product the cheaper the game feels. The casual gamers their trying to appeal to doesn't give a hoot about these things, they probably traded the game in a few months later.

Ashley's religious views basically imply that she wouldn't be interested in a same sex romance
