If i remember correctly, Tali was not supposed to be a squadmate in me3, but BW made her a squaddie due to her popularity, so Liara is not the only one getting special treatment :bandit:

Liara got her own DLC in ME2, her own comic (soon to be 2), plot armor throughout the entire series, has the only romance that can be truly sustained throughout all three games, and a tastefully done erotic love scene.  I love Liara and all, but she got preferential treatment above and beyond any other squaddie.

My friend plays with a straight femShep and she told me she likes Liara but she feels like all her romance possibilities are just ok (or even meh) compared to Liara/Shep.

But wait, will there be another comic?

But it`s so easy to overlook those things when the squaddie getting special treatment is your favourite

Apparently a new comic coming out soon, but this is not an exclusive Liara comic, all me3 squaddies get their Homeworld comic. From ME wiki:

"Mass Effect: Homeworlds: A series written by Mac Walters with each issue focusing on one of the main characters of Mass Effect 3. The first issue, focusing on newcomer James Vega, is due on April 25, 2012"

I would be surprised if it did. If anything unexpected were to happen, the value edit wouldn't change the dialogue and you would just hear the "years" line instead of "months".

@bryan and hollow, you're welcome. ^_^

I've yet to see one. Sorry. :( Was there a Mac version for ME2?

For the life of me I can't remember where but I've seen an artwork cover sample somewhere for Homeworlds #4 and it is surprise surprise, Liara.

Hey, does anyone know, aside from our awesome blue fandom here, how is Liara acceptance by other fans? And why did they choose to make LOTSB and not... dunno, "Fleet and Flottila a DLC for Tali"?

I was wondering if it has something to do with character popularity or something else entirely.

I think she was very popluar after ME1. She was the only "exotic" love interest in the game after all. And a favourite of the writers. And famous too thanks to FOX News :P

So I'm pretty sure that's why they decided to give her a more important role In ME2 & 3. And from what I have seen that had a bit of an radicalizational effect on the community. Many still "just" like her, but as some got more extreme in their fandom (who would that be, I wonder?) others started to resent her for all the attention and screentime she got.

Add the very popular characters and romance options added in ME2 and I'd even suspect that the overall number of her "real" fans has actually declined a bit. At least I don't see her very often at the top of the "most popular character / love interest" polls anymore. That was very different in ME1 times ...

Curious enough, I started to like Liara even more after ME2. She was nice ans sweet during ME1, but our relationship startled me there:
"Hi, how are you?"
"Were you worried?"
"Well, yeah"
"Are you with Kaidan?"
"Hell no"
"So we're dating?"
"WHAT?  ...oh... ok "

But after that it was great :D

I've always found the ME1 relationship development a bit odd with my one Shepard (cuz she's kinda shy about relationships and all that).  I fix this with a lot of extra headcanon so it doesn't feel too rushed.

But it fits perfectly with the one who has the huge asari thing, cuz she was trying to mack on Liara from the moment she fell out of that bubble.  Though, I don't think she was ever sure if they were technically 'dating'.

You think Liara with an omnitool is sexy too?

I think it's extra sexy b/c it makes her look so smart and bad ass cuz omnitools just do that to people.

I think the fact that Liara is Drews favorite LI in ME1 contributes to her importance in the story :D

When you love or hate a character you have to be careful that your perspective doesn't get really skewed. The haters take Liara's character in a direction that is sometimes weird but so can the rabid Liara lovers. She is not perfect but she also is not a "rapist".

As far as airtime, each character has a part to play and this will never be a 50-50 thing. You cannot give all characters the same amount of time whether in books, movies or games. If you look at each character alone the question is did their story fit ... It is not about quantity but quality. Liara in the whole of ME2 was not enjoyable just like the VS then she got one mission in a DLC and now you would think that she was in all of ME2 and with Shepard by the haters. She had one mission that was focused on her like a loyalty mission and it was so well written (quality) around the relationship that it knocked everything else out of the water. I think every character deserved their own quality, relationship focused DLC. *looks at Ash & Kaidan for that first release*

It is that DLC that I see mentioned in all the other LI threads as what they want for their romance. If you have a quality story then the character can be limited to the play time. Some characters were not given that kind of writing and it stung their fanbase. So their hate of Liara grew. Right? Wrong? Doesn't really matter. Emotions aren't always reasonable.

It was a bit rushed, but headcanon told me that those trips between clusters and worlds took some time, so they probably spent a lot of time together.

I only regret Ash not teasing Liara about her sex life :D

Well, Bioware mostly listens to the fans when it comes to Liara. I mean...they even changed the boob size of the Kotobukya figure that is being released soon because fans thought they were too big. Hmmm....well....since the release of ME3 the boob size might be debatable again :D

Here, have some!

What's the latest on the Liara romance dialogue bug? From the first conversation aboard the Normandy, when she says something about not seeing Shepard for years. It was strange, since the rest of the LotSB stuff seemed to be acknowledged.

There isn't anything new. Its a code bug, and it's a minor cosmetic issue that's likely not going to get fixed. You will have to head cannon the correct line.

Actually I found the solution to that conversation problem :P
You have to set the value 6941
to True, then Liara will say: "I'll always remember that tour of the Normandy, but let's be honest, Shepard. It's been more than a half a year."

instead of
"It's been years since we were together. Are you still interested in us?"

If you're talking about the one I was referring to I believe it's after Mars and the Citadel when you return to the Normandy. Gliff / Gliph : "Liara has something she would like to discuss." The Crucible blueprint is discussed then their relationship status. "It has been years since we were last together..." vs "It has been months..."

I agree. As much as I love Liara, I would buy in a heartbeat any DLC focused on ANYONE. My friends (with their own ships) would be happy with their LI and I would be happy with more time spent with my femShep's friends. Mass Effect was one of the few games, maybe the first, I ever played to grab me and make me care for the companions in such a way that I cry like a little girl with every death or every important moment (Grunt's badass hero against the rachni? I cried as hell and then jumped and bounced when he got out alive like a boss).

I do fear (A LOT) for all the hate Liara gets being a factor during this whole "fixing the ending" thing.

Yeah, I'm not that happy they decided to turn my lithe, perfectly proportioned, blue angels chesticles into top heavy pornstar boobs. BioWare should change them back.

I officially declare the start of the Retake Liara's Boobs movement! :D
