My Shep is a spacer/survivor, and her feelings for Liara that stem as much from the loss of her squad as her upbringing as a protector of others. As such she is outwardly very protective of her, but inwardly needs Liara more out of her fear of being left alone again - especially when events keep pulling Shepard's friends away from her.

Me, I love Liara because she's a scientist, like me. Plus she's hot. And blue.

Did you catch the conversation between Ashley and Liara in ME1 in an elevator, where Ashley asks Liara how much she travels as a scientist, and Liara says something like "yes, my travels usually have more explorations and fewer explosions". And Ashley says "speaking the truth for scientists everywhere in the galaxy." 

That was priceless.

My Shep is a Spacer/Ruthless, she grew up on ships following her mom all her life and loves the military life. Her dad was a high-ranking officer but died when she was young. She is not evil, she is alliance to the bone, but does whatever it takes to get her mission done. Her mom was always politically correct and played nice, and Shep knows that if you want to get ahed, that is not the way to go. Anyways, she is somewhat cold and reserved, but all that changed when Liara showed up. Liara was so sweet and nice, it was imossible not to like her, and Liara taught Shep that friendship is imortant and one should not keep everyone at a distance, especially the ones you have to trust with your life. Because of Liaras influence Shepard grew much closer to her crew and softened up a bit. As for Liara, I guess she was the first one to see past that cold-hard-witch () shell, and find the goodness within Shep.

Click the options button in Origin (next to the question mark top right, looks like a cog) then go to redeem key. Boot up the game and you should have a new message from liara and the gun will selectable next mission.

Finally did it guys! Got my first bit of writing in AGES done.

Few notes to begin with:
- Its set right after the first conversation with Liara on the Normandy. The way I've always viewed the series is that theres tons of stuff "in between" that we just don't see. The setting I have in mind here is that they've rescued Liara and are heading back to the Citadel to resupply.
- My general idea is to add stuff to the romance without actually speeding it up in any way. So my rule for writing these is that it has to "fit" between what happened before and the next "romantic" thing that happens. If theres any inconsistencies please tell me so I can fix them. I want it to fit naturally into the story and your headcanon (if you wish to incorporate it).
- I use my own Shepard and her name in this. Can't please everyone.
- Its probably pretty bad because I'm way out of practice. Please provide feedback, I'd really appreciate it.
- Its only about 2000 words, so just a short story.
- I'm planning more if it goes down well.

Totally channelling Mal Reynolds, if I don't miss my guess? Short and sweet, I love it. It's a great break in my reading, and I need one. I also need to write some 2000 words of my own. Only in a much drier fashion. Goddess help me.

Only thing I can think of (and yes, this is silly) is that alarm clocks seem to be holographic in ME
