I admire your positivity. Right now, I can't really see that movie working, at all, and would rather Bioware not ruin her character.

Unfortunately Liara will most likely be in the movie no matter if she´s a LI or not. She is one of the most popular characters in the series and I doubt whoever is making the movie can ignore that.

Just like they probably can´t exclude Joker either (I really hope they cast Seth Green for that role BTW).

Noone in real life can be like Dr. Liara T´Soni. Not even Jillian Murray or Ali Hillis (okay, maybe Hillis could act like her, but she doesn´t look like her soo...).

Nothing a whole lot of blue paint can't fix.=]

And hair fringes, don´t forget the hair fringes!!
Sorry, I meant; don´t forget the semi-flexible, cartilage based scalp crests. They are important too, you knowImage IPB

Hmm... Maybe we could let Murray play Liara in the movie while Hillis provides the voice over. Win, win, right??

Win win situation would be to scrap the entire movie and let the funds to go new endings for Shepard/Liara.

I'd MUCH, MUCH rather see their story end happily (as happily as can be when so many billions are dead and so many worlds are devastated) than to see a Shepard that's not mine with a movie version of Liara in a movie which crams 40 hours of content into 2,5 hours and is focussed on explosions! action! and hot aliens - And please... for the love of the goddess do not depict Liara as some oversexualized alien.

ETA: I also question BioWare's judgement to make a movie about ME1. I mean all of us know that story by now and would much rather replay the story than watch a movie version. They could've made a movie about the discovery of Mass Effect technology, the years leading up to and including the first contact war and the first human ship to arrive on the Citadel after the Asari intervened. Setting the stage for the trilogy...

For those of you not on PC the message that you receive at the private terminal is bellow, for those of you on PC you may want to wait and read it ingame.

Thanks again, it's a nice weapon. Bit OP maybe but great fun to play with.

And I haven't really been following this movie business at all. All I knew was that they're doing one animated movie and one live action.

So is it sure that the movie will be directly about Shep? 'Cause that rubs me all the wrong way right from the start.
In the games and the merchandise it was allways "there is no canon" and "this is your Shep". Why would they start this movie business with alienating the group of people that has the most interest in it in the first place?

And as you guys said, something similar applies to the other characters from the game.

This all doesn't make me feel like I will spend much money on ME cinema tickets ... :?

Exactly^

If they turned Liara into some weird objectified sex-symbol. I would not be surprised at all..not in the slightest.
Yeah, that is most likely what they will do. Damnit, the movie hasn´t even be made yet and I hate it already, lolImage IPB
Yes, and I think maybe even Alli would be offended if they did that. She sounded pretty ****y in the pwned interview.(But she probably knew the ending ahead of time so..)

Pwned interview?? What pwned interview??

Heyy... I kinda liked Olivia Wilde, from House.... Though I don't see her as a Liara at all. So.. eh..

And Liara being the Darth Vader of this generation? (Actor voices all the lines, to be secretly VO'd by a sexier voice)

And me? I'm not watching the ME movie, not at all. Ain't my Shepard, and if it's gonna tell the story of Shepard, well they can find some other dupes to watch it, because the story of my Shepard is in my save files, and whenever I start up an ME game.

I will probably watch it. just so I can critizise it. I suspect that most of those who will love the movie haven´t even played the games.
And I also suspect that fans of the ME franchise probably will react more aggressive towards a movie adaption of ME than fans of other videgame series. That is the difference between being emotionally invested in a game instead of just playing it for the lolz.

Well if it ever gets made it will be in 3D which i cant see anyway and gives me a worse headache than an L2 Biotic. <_<

If a film is done it should focus on the First Contact War war or the Skyllian Blitz(but not from sheps point of view).

I dunno, I also think is wrong using shepard as main character in a damn movie, don't make many sense to me, in books of Mass Effect, they don't even say if shepard is female or male!

I read they're doing one movie where James Vega is the main character (Mass Effect - Paragon Lost), I also read somewhere they would use Jon Grimsson as character in a movie, if is true or not I dunno!

Not all that much in my opinion. The usual discussing/worshipping/loving Liara (Some more than others).

A fix was also found for the Liara romance bug in which she wouldn't acknowledge the cabin scene. Stating that it'd been years since they were together instead of months. A fix was posted here if you play on Pc or Xbox. Other than that... nothing special really.

I agree with you. All of it. As already said before I will most likely watch the movie but I will probably hate it.
Yes, the general consensus among many fans is that if they absolutely have to make a ME movie why not create a completely new story set in the same world as the games, books and comics?? It would be much better than make a story based upon another story. Cause when you do that, there will always be inconsistencies and other details which really, really annoy the fans.

And yes, I also fear that Liara and the asari as a whole probably will be portrayed as oversexualized, hot alien chicks and nothing else (not that they aren´t viewed as such by some people, but there are alot more to that species than just being eye candy. Miranda handles that job fine by her ownImage IPB)

Thanks Rob!

Good thing I didn't miss anything important then, except tons of Liara pics, I can imagine :D

Bookmarked that romance-fix-thread though, have to try that after I've finished my current playtrough.

Looking at the thread it seems most of us Liarans play Biotic classes for our "cannon"  Liara romance? myself I decided to go best of both worlds and oficialize my Shep as a Sentinel to get that Jamesbondish feeling I used to get from the Infiltrator back in ME1 (being an agent that relies on his wits to survive and is prepared for every situation), so I guess I fall into the biotic category too , what about your own Sheps?

What?  Theres no way I can be the only adrenaline junkie all guns blazin', blue romancin' soldier classed spacer shep in here?

Nope! My canon Shepard is a soldier as well! Him and Liara makes the best team ever! B)

Liara is Shepard's sex object! Wait... that came out wrong.... What I mean to say is that Liara isn't Liara Croft. Despite what sunnie may have to say on the matter.

And she's only saucy with Shepard, not the movie screen. Bah.

This is on a technicality, since Liara is 109. But since it's almost always Liara taking charge in bed, I can find no good reason to disagree.

And I already said, it's unfair on the asari, since they outlive just about every race out there. They're practically a race of cougars in that sense.

Liara might be older if you go by simple numbers. But she is still relativly young by Asari standards. =]

Well she is 100+.

But then again in ME1 she says she is considered barely more than a child or something along those lines. So does that make Shepard a cradle snatcher in the eyes of the other Asari? Just something I have wondered.
