I just heard this song and flashes of inspiration came to me for an ending.



It's from Coldplay.

Using the destroy ending... beginning after the reapers have started to fall all over Earth. We see Liara and Garrus standing with others at the top of the hill where they first started their mad dash to the beam. We see hundreds of different species's soldiers moving about checking wounded and helping those they can. A real blending of everyone helping each other no matter their race because the war has bonded everyone together.
We see Garrus or Tali or even Wrex comforting Liara who is teary eyed believing Shepard is dead.
Suddenly the beam up to the Citadel, which is still there, activates drawing everyone's attention. It flashes once and we see Shepard, beaten all to heck, but carrying Anderson's body over his shoulders. Liara's eyes explode open and she begins to run across the area between them. Which is when this song from coldplay kicks in and as she is running towards him (or her in a lot of cases) we see flashes of Shepard and Liara from the moment they first met, shots of ME1 together with glimpses of their love scene, then the same for LotSB, and finally moments from the 3rd game. Some smiling and some tearfuilled, but basically telling the story of their love for each other, culminating with liara reaching him (or her) as Shepard drops to her knees and gently places Anderson's body on the ground. Liara would gather him (or her) into her arms as others are rushing towards them from Shep's team, and Liara is holding them like in that picture that was posted. London ruins I believe. As we come to the end of the song... that scene fades out slowly and right at the end we see a bright and beautiful scenery of a rebuilding Earth or Thessia and Shepard and Liara looking out over the rebuilding just as three or four little blue children come running into the picture.

I thought that was very cool. Wish someone could put that into like a still shot movie to this song.

hmm I listened to all three themes to have them fresh in my mind and I think my favorite is the ME1 Love Theme, there is just a certain melancholy to it but at the same time it is sweet and peaceful, ME3 is more on the sad side, like trying to show that these are your last moments and you should enjoy them. 

I missed Jack Wall in ME3, the soundtrack was good but not the same

In my experience ME3's theme didn't seem that sad at all, which made it so incomplete for me. It has too much of a childish kind of setting, and reminds me for some reason of the renaissance (don't ask). And I agree, ME1 probably has the best one. I just used 'Reflection' as an example. I love how ME1's theme has that heart beat rythm that keeps going. Masterpiece.

I simply can't see myself playing through the games again, though. Even if they would have made the ending better, I can't sit there and go through every sacrifice and decision, knowing it will all end, and there's nothing I can do about it. Conventional video games do not appeal me either.

Very nice, but I can't shake a certain pervy look off Shep's face there.. Must be the smirk...

edit : I think I worked it out... I don't think I'll be able to explain it neatly though... his eyes are a bit too... open.. and staring, of a sort. If there was a way to soften his eye expression, it'd look totally amazing. To me. Just my two cents, very nice renders all the same.

I agree about the theme from ME3... but the ending to it when the love scene actually starts I think is very nice.

Great renders, still figuring out the stuff myself.

I wouldn't worry about that. I've just spent about three hours writing up the part of the ending that I came up with whilst working this morning and I'm not even finished yet. I tend not to rush things.

Though I didn't realise quite how substantial what I'd thought up was going to be when written down, heh.

Nice job on those screens. We need some moments like these in game. I know us Liara mancers got the best and most involving romance in the trilogy already but is it so wrong to just want...even more Liara?:innocent:

I was actually a little bummed out when there was no (even slightly) different scene for a romanced Liara during the time capsule scene. A little remark and a bit of touching to show their romance would've been good. I mean they were ALONE in Shepard's cabin... why the heck not?

Y'know, none of us know if there will be a non sucky ending. Right now, I have my cynical hat on so I'll say just get it done and over with. I don't think Bioware cares enough to give people a non sucky ending. But that's my cynical side, and it's certainly not a Bioware statement.

Don't you hate it when you meant to do one thing and you end up doing another? I MEANT to write the next section of my "fit into the story" fanfic. What I've ACTUALLY written is basically the entire finale part to the ME1 part of this fanfic.

Oh well, at least I should be able to get that part up quickly now when I reach that far given that most of it is already done.
