Nice pic, but I have some concerns about those lines... The implications are... unsettling...

Good night all. Don't blow up the thread while I'm counting blue sheep, okay? :P

It's funny.. the minute they say "I love you", everything goes to hell and everyone is literally screwed.
Thats some really bad writing right there.

We waited over 4 years to hear it, and we got to enjoy it for about half an hour.

Maybe you did. My Liara and Shepard are quite happily enjoying it forever more with their little blue baby.

*sticks fingers in ears and closes eyes*
Ending didn't happen that way. Ending didn't happen that way. Ending didn't happen that way.

Edit: Another top of page? Gimme a min.

I enjoy every bit of it despite if the ending was bad, sad or didn't make much sense. I like the part with Anderson and the Illusive Man and the Synthesis Ending (mainly the part with EDI putting her arm around Joker and leaning on him and knowing that my LI, Liara survives). Yeah of course I'm disappointed that Liara and Shep did not get a chance to have those little blue children, marriage and old age at the end but I still enjoy ME3.

Now that you mention it what the hell does an omnitool fetish entail? Does she like being scanned by it? Does Liara just have to have it on the entire time? Zapping? What is it what's going on there

I think this is it.

Close enough anyway...

I have another question to add to jlb's; during the pre-cerberus romance scene, if Liara says "I love you" first, what happens if you pick the renegade option instead of "I love you too"? does Liara get upset?

No, the dialogue is just weird and doesn't make any sence. I clicked it only one time and will not do it again.
Good Renegade lines are very rare with Liara in ME3.

I think one of the good ones, is in the 'flatterer' scene.

1) Does Liara speak 'English' to Shepard or Asari translated to English via magical translator thingy?

I don't post on BSN often (I think I have a post count under 10) but I wanted to point out some lore from either the books or a ME1 codex entry:
http://masseffect.wi...wiki/Translator I think.

Liara is speaking the asari naitive tongue, as the only way to have a "Universal Translator" is to have members of both species learn the others language and translate, and keep translating as new dialects or words come into the vernacular of both species.  So Shepard speaks English, or whichever language you choose, and Liara hears the asari language.

But any peolpe like the hold Shadows Broker is able to speak more den 15 or 17 lenguage without translator,

Asari its able to study and speak another species lenguage, and for me Liara is  able to take English lenguage from Shepard from mental connection,

Asari live 1000 years, is possible that Learn another lenguage.

not is necessary use a universal translator, and its possible in some case this hardware is put from bio-chip in directly contanct whit brain.

i'm italian, and i'm able to spek and write in  Spanish,

so is possible some aliens in ME is able to spek more lenguage.

Morning.

Yeah, I'd say people use sub-dermal implants for translation.
In the comics Illusive Man speaks asari when he's on Illium, he didn't even know the language, but learned it from a reaper device he touched indirectly.
I like to think that they're communicating without machines, but realistically, way too many languages to learn.

I've always ignored this point and to me they're all just speaking one language (like galactic basic if you will). The one thing that's off with the whole translator stuff is the lip sync. If Liara spoke a different language, her lip sync would not be consistent with the english language. Plain and simple to me.

@Fingertips

I want to apologize to you for calling you a troll, since for what I've gathered you're not. But what else can you expect when you come to a thread and the only thing you post is "Jeez lots of pics to report kthxbye :]". We haven't seen you taking part into this thread and then you come to inform us you're reporting  pics which, as far as we know, shouldn't concern you, when you haven't even taken part into this thread.

So yes, I apologize to you and agree that maybe there are some pics that should be tagged as NSFW. For me tagged or no tagged is not really a problem since I'm always browsing this thread on my own home PC and there's no danger someone else would see what's on my monitor. But a lot of people seem to be browsing this on school or work PCs so I see why some pics might be problematic.

But I also would like you to think your own behaviour a little. You said you have kids so I assume you're a mature adult, so maybe you could then discuss like adults do. Perhaps instead of just saying "hello, I'm gonna report your pics, have a pleasant day", you could say that in your oppinion there are pics that should be tagged as NSFW and that you wish that from now on people would tag such pics, while other pics are still okay. And then you can explain that you have children who can accidentaly see such content if they're just posted on the thread. And don't worry, I won't start talking you about parenting, I know kids are curious and you really can't prevent them seeing stuff that is on your monitor if they're walking by your room.

As a sign of good will, here's a SFW Liara pic, for all of you guys ^_^

I agree on the point about the lip syncing problem. You would quite literally experience a conversation like you were in a 1950's godzilla movie.

There's also the problem with the use of the term "subdermal implant". A subdermal implant would work a lot like the codex in the MGS series. That is to say, a fancy cellphone/two way radio via satellite that allows for long distance communications. If used in the sense that the ME series portrays it, you'd have the problem of listening to two voices at the same time: the original alien language plus the translated version. They'd both basically drown each other out. Lots of "huh?" moments.

I belive the proper device that would be in use is a cochlear implant. Replacing the organic ear canal with a cybernetic version to allow for near instant communication (again, there'd still be lip sync lag) without actually running into the problem I stated above. Would allow the user to hear the world as they normally would, but alien languages would be translated and presented with a more "natural" sense and not bombarding the user with sensory overload, especially in densely packed cities.

Hey, for all we know it's actually a small brain implant. Just stick in somewhere in the region of the brain that processes language and all that and hey presto, translator.

Didn't Shep say something like "and in galactic?" instead of saying "and in English?" when she didn't understand some technobabble? So I figured Shep speaks galactic to anyone that doesn't speak English, but uses a translator when people speak to her in an alien language.
I'm sure Shep would be interested to learn Liara's first language though, I imagine galactic would be a pretty boring language because it was made to be simple for everyone to understand so I doubt they'd want to be speaking that all the time.

I just wish you could change face patterns on the Asari...

You can! It's the fourth customization option I think, called "Pattern" (you need to unlock the same class 3 times to get it) it will change the uniform pattern and the face pattern too :)

haha funny thing, it seems for some people is quite difficult to unlock her the first time (Ask to ananas haha) so unlocking them 3 times is quite impossible lol:P:P

It's
ok though, yesterday i was using the asari vanguard but i was really
wishing to get the adept because that's my fave class and i never get
adepts anyways.

haha I "forced" myself to learn play vanguards because I got the asari one,  but the adept I think has never been programmed on my copy of ME3 since I've spento tons and tons of credits on specters packs and nothing, and I also wish from the adept since it is my fave class too:(:(

we're not knocking them, atleast i wasn't the drell can be very useful
especially that melee of there's but I just wanted an Asari adept

have a asari vanguard.  Also Ananas sorry to leave you out of the blue
party but i just got my adept from a spectre pack.  so I'm happy now[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]  *steps in and gives ananas a hug*  It's ok someday there'll be an asari with you're name on it, maybe tomorrow

I told ananas the same thing on saturday, and we confirmed the one is in charge of his MP shop is a damned volus, since it always gets shotguns and shotguns and shotguns... concerning the blue party well... as ananas told me, if we want he can make a mountain of shotguns and paint them into blue lol.

Just for tease someone here...

They're so fun to play with the biotic dodges and stuff. Liara didn't seem to do those, only normal rolls.
