About Liara's change in lotsb, dont think it has more explanation than a BW redesign choice to make her look more mature and give her a HQ texture, because in M2 probably they just reused her M1 skin, but because is outdated it didnt looked so good as the other M2 squadmembers
Now if we want to go in it and find an ingame explanation![]()
I will suppose that because her skin is blue, is more realistic her lips are also blue, and if i recall good her tongue is dark purple. A human tends to have lips that are a little darker than the skin color, while the tongue has a blood-type color. I assume the asaris are similar on that. So my conclusion is that the pink in M1 is lipstick
Now why she has different eyes color?
Well, if she has no lipstick on now, maybe is because she took a quick shower in her appartment before putting her armor on, that would mean that she had to also take any kind of contact glasses off before showering. After that she went to her computer and got attacked so she fleed.
That would mean her real eyes color are a deep blue as her lips
Well, what if she put first the deep blue contact glasses on before the lipstick and then got attacked?
I dont think so, first she was in a hurry, second, the snipper shots are in the living room window, so she was in that sector when attacked and there are no cosmetic tools around. So is not like she was doing those things there. Probably all that things are in the bathroom but she just didnt care, because there were better things to worry about than personal appearance.
Now why do you think she hide those gorgeous deep blue eyes? they are too attractive for asaris and she dont want to be hit on constantly? or other...
I always find it kind of pointless and ultimately hopeless when fans try to explain changes that bioware themselves have not given a reason for, other than gameplay. LotSB Liara is a redesign, artistic freedom if you will, and that's all there is to it.
Compare it to a comic book series that changes its artist. The protagonist looks different now but there's no need to wrack your brain to try and explain it.
I think multiple versions of Liara gives the player an opportunity to choose his favourite as his personal "official" Liara. (And as you can see you can even change her appearance in game with some modding, so what's not to like?)
