I like to think that Aethyta got out of the Citadel before the Reapers took it to Earth. You know, just so Shep can say to her babies "Your grandad fought the war with us. She made reapers cry"

She could probably lead them if she had to, but not that she'd want to.

Actually in romance scenes the "renegade" option isn´t really renegade. It´s just the same as saying yes or no to someone. Nothing renegade about that. Heck! You don´t even get any points for it.

So, just pick the lower option and have a fun evening playing chess with miss. amazing-she-has-the-guts-to-hit-on-the-Shadow-Broker´s-girlfriend.

Yeah well...I have some bad memories of talking to Jacob in ME2  Choosing the "renegade" options there resulted in pretty disgusting flirting or at least I experienced it like this. Not that the paragon options were that much better, mind you!

I just can't bring myself to romance anyone besides Liara...in all my play-throughs

I can just see it....a whole commando of asari girls led by Aethyta beating husks up with their spines. That would be pretty epic!!

Jacob?? I steared clear of his (might I add horrible, horrible) romance when him and my Shepard where talking about his relationship with Miranda by answering when he asked why Shep was interested in his relationship status by choosing the middle default option (I think it was that one, not sure though). Anyway, Shepard answered something like "consider it dropped", and the romance was never brought up again no matter how many paragon options I chose later on.

If Tali was romanced and Javik is with them on the Geth dreadnaught he will mention that "Mating between species, a futile(or pointless) exercise.". Sounds like Javik only sees sex as baby making and to futher the species. This is why I assume he feels that a Shepard who romances Liara is just wasting time since they wont be passing on their genes or whatever.

Doesn't the codex state the baby is only a "copy" of the mother but with their DNA randomised. If so, then Shepard does not technically produce any off-spring that is theirs.

God. Asari biology is so confusing!

Buuuut compared to screwing with either Garrus or Tali (or both depending on whatever creepy fanfic you are writing/reading) mating with Liara can actually produce offspring. Sure, the kid would be an asari, but still more people in the galaxy, and it is partly made from a "blueprint" of Shep´s genetic code.

As for Javik´s comment: I think he says that because he was born during a time where practically every advanced species in the galaxy were on the brink of extinction. So, I guess reproducing became just as important as fighting the reapers. Otherwise I think the Protheans probably were just as bad (or good depending on who you are) to engage in sexual relations with other species. I mean, just look at what he said about the quarians

Sooo...after a lot of thinking and and deliberating, I realized I should have romanced Liara. Sadly, I romanced Tali my first time around...not entirely sure why. Just gonna say, if we all lived in the Mass Effect universe, I would definitely be trying to get together with an Asari (as long as she wasn't an Ardat-Yakshi...we all know how that ends).

True, but my point is that Shepard is not futhering the human gene-pool by making blue babies with Liara. Which is why I think Javik would shake his head at Shepard.

Well, you can always remedy that with a replay. A word of warning though: Once you go for Liara there is no turning back; it´s not that she won´t let you go it´s you who can´t let go of her

And yes, unless you have a death wish, it´s probably smart to stay clear of the AY. Otherwise you belong in the Morinth thread (if she even have one).
