I just hope that when the terrible movie comes out they can coast on the sales from the brand recognition to the point that they can make the second and third games into movies as well. I just really want to sit in a theatre on the opening weekend of the third movie and see how people react to the god child, particularly those who haven't played the game (if you can give EA credit for anything it's that they can advertise the **** out of things, enough so to draw those who haven't played the game).

How can anyone hate the final conversation with Liara? The gift scene and the words spoken between her and Shepard were one of the few things that were great about the ending.

The only thing I disliked about that final conversation was that she mentioned it was also a way of saying goodbye.  Uh, honey...  Blue babies!  You had better not be saying goodbye!  I will take that bondmate thing, though...

I am not sure what is to dislike about that. Both Liara and Shepard knows that there is a very good chance that this is goodbye, they do not pretend otherwise.

I just didn't like the implied fatalism.  It was there in ME2 as well, but it still felt like Shepard was saying "Suicide Mission my ass!  I'm coming back from this.  We're all coming back from this."  And it's not like the others were laying on the "Oh god I'm never going to see you again" either.  Tali joked about angling for a promotion.  Garrus (Garrus) demands that you come back alive if you romanced him, as do Miranda and Jack.  With Liara it was just "Whelp, it's been quite a ride, but I know you're gonna die..."

Exactly! I just knew I had to say goodbye to Liara just in case, but I don't expect it to be a self-fulfilling prophecy!

I guess I just don't see it that way. I think Liara simply acknowlegeds the the fact that there is a (good) chance that they might not return. 

"It can also be a way to say farewell."

It can does not mean it is.
