lirara is the best girl in mass effect... cute , sweet , intelligent , sexy , the dream girl of many......
but.. She lives for 1000 years..... shepard lives 150 years at most.. this is a problem.... when he dies... what will do liara??? shepard must find a way to live longer....

I'm pretty sure that Shepard will live significantly longer because of all the cybernetic parts grafted into him by Cerberus as well as the bio-synthetic fusion used to bring him back from the dead. I figure these processes added probably a least double the years to his life considering Miranda flat out states she will live double the life of a normal human and a lot of what was done to Shepard was based on her father's work with her.

It's possible that Shepard's lifespan has been increased when he/she got revived by Cerberus.

I'd expect Shepard's cerberus implants to more likely reduce lifespan, than extend it. They're clearly not integrated perfectly, what with the renegade scarring. And even if they don't have problems themselves, there's surely a limit to what can be replaced without getting to a "no soul, replaced by tech" stage

I don't find Shepard dieing before Liara especially problematic. Liara will mourn, move on, likely find love again, and carry her memories of Shepard with her to the future. That's what Shepard would want, surely.

More problematic is Shepard growing old while Liara's still young. I think Shepard might start feeling guilty - Liara should be enjoying her maiden years, not stuck watching someone she loves deteriorate.

And there is a way: The cybernetics that Shepard received during project lazarus.

With diseases and afflictions almost entirely eliminated in the ME universe, Shepard doesn't need to worry about getting sick and dying. When he dies it'll be of old age, or organ failure most likely. Good thing is that Shepard received implants to help or even replace his natural organs. Meaning Shepard might not even age at all (since he's effectively a cyborg) or if he ages he'll age VERY slowly.

I'm a sucker for happily ever after endings so in my headcanon ending, Shepard and Liara visit Garrus and Tali on Rannoch several decades after ME3. Garrus remarks that Shepard doesn't look a day older than when they fought together, Shepard replies that he doesn't feel a day older either. Forshadowing that Shepard will live much longer than normal humans.

for me the age between Shepard and Liara not represent limit or problem in the relationship,

remember Miranda can live 120 year, and Shepard can live more respect Miranda , probably 150-200 years,

but Shepard can live forever and ever in Liara.

Well you said you didn't like the horrible ending, which is understandable, and then you said something about the treatment of most characters.. I just want to know what you meant by that and which characters you were referring to.

Between the game and comics... I think it is heavily implied that Shep will live a lot longer. I guess it depends on your interpetation of comments by Miri and TIM.

As for Liara moving on... I don't see that happening even though it is the Asari way. Not after all they have experienced and gone through to be together. I believe Shep and Liara's love goes much further and deeper than other unions. I don't see her wanting to or finding love again or even getting together with someone else after Shep dies. She will certainly live a lot longer even if he does too... but I don't see her taking another Bondmate or lover once he passes on to the big Relay in the sky. I see her enjoying their children and continuing to help rebuild Thessia.

I probably said it a thousand times before but I thought it was a cute mannerism of Liara. And the sceptical expression it often times gave her allways reminded me that even behind the shy "facade" there was an intelligent, critically thinking "I hear what you say and I don't believe a word of it" mind. (Not that this allways matched the conversation at hand )

But maybe that's just my personal Liara crazyness talking ...

Raaaaaage .... no wait, something happend? 'Cause I'm pretty sure Shep and Liara are on a rehabilitational vacation on a tropical paradies world right now!

On a more serious note, it's nice that they wanted to show us Liara and other quaddies surviving. But the whole flight scene is so out of context and character that even if I wanted to, it'd be quite hard to accept is as my canon. Not to forget that depending on one's views on the technological state of the galaxy all implications for those characters futures don't appear to be particularly postive.

So yeah, it's certainly possible to make something out of that with a bit of fantasy and story bending, but as it stands now in the game ... hate it


And tbh, even with implants I don't think Shep will live that much longer than other humans. All the war and several cases of (almost) dying must have taken quite the toll.
I think it's even possible s/he actually wouldn't want to live that long after all s/he's gone through. Certainly not in a suicidal way but in a sense of tiredness we allready saw in ME3.
I could even see it a sign of Shep's love to Liara, because s/he wants her to move on instead of spending her still rather young years on caring for an old, fragile human.

Not a particularly bright view of things, I know, but seems realistic to me.
And 100+ years of Liara snuggling and melding and blue baby producing isn't actually that little after all

Shepard, Kasumi, Miranda, Samara, Zaeed, Ashley, Jacob, Kai Leng, Thane, Tali, Garrus, Aria, Harbinger, Kelly, Kal Reager,

Chatacters I felt handled well: Legion, Mordin, Liara, Vega, EDI, Joker, Traynor, Cortez, Anderson, TIM

You're such a negative person Ananas. Here, read what Andro said. And it's true, you know. And regarding what Shep's been through, that's the point, after all this, a time to rest would be great, and what's better then living for 400+ years with your blueberry love ? I don't think there's anything better.
