Bioware... letting EA make this anouncement is horrendous. A PR Fubar to the extreme. I'm sorry... without an ending that actually makes sense and then closure for that ending... a lot of Bioware fans will jump ship and never buy their product again. I include myself in that category.
Without an ending that makes sense and provides closure to so many things left open I predict a mass return or trade in of all Mass Effect games. There will be no point in replaying the games. None at all. I'm sorry... what little faith I had is has now left the building.

And this one as well. To show them why clarification isn't going to cut it. Not quite as long as the one you posted though it's still a big one, well worth watching though.

Yea that one is perfect, deserved mention in my signature area.

A lot of fans have all ready jumped ship, Bioware has jkoined ranks alongside my brother and is dead to me since I saw that "Final Hours" thing. Whether this ending tidbit of cutscenes, text slabs (im betting 20$ they will be included - thats where personalization comes in *eyes casey disdainfully*), and buzz aldrin narration (im speculating, cynically) ... fixes any of those gaping plot holes is yet to be seen...but... yea no, bioware have forced themselves into a despicable corner. I still dont think they can fix all the wrong theyve done.

Liara isn't sure about this news on the "clarified" endings.

Having Shepard and Liara being together in the end? You can pretty much forget that.
[/list]Are there going to be more/different endings or ending DLCs in the future?
No. BioWare strongly believes in the team’s artistic vision for the
end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise. The extended cut DLC will
expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned.

Personally Traynor reminds me a lot of Liara in ME1. Nervous and a bit nerdy, trying to adjust to suddenly serving on a front line warship, but also brilliant. And Traynor would make a pretty good information broker actually, given her ability to pick up important facts from a mass of information
I got a ME1 Liara vibe from her too. Maybe that's why I like her character XD
Wulfram wrote...
@jlb524 Yeah, I don't think this sort of thing is worth putting in the epilogue, really. Particularly not for a romanced Liara.
That would be a really dumb thing to do.
But what will be in the epilogue? Shepard is still dead or stranded on Earth and the crew is somehow really far away on some random planet with the relays still destroyed. I'd imagine it will detail what the crew did afterwards.

If they keep the ending (and they will) that can't happen.

There's an interview with Jennifer Hale over at The Escapist and she hasn't been asked to record any new lines for the new ending, so make of that what you will.
Well, if they follow the end of Shepard being alive, then they are going to need both the male and female voice actors for Shepard. The DLC is supposed to come out in summer, and I guess they will soon start recording. Also, the interview was done before the DLC was announced. Hale and Meer are under NDA and are not allowed to reveal anything about the future of ME3.

Read the text. Bioware will explain what happens, but not change it.
The crew will still get stranded on Gilligan's planet, Bioware will simply explain how they got there.

I'll keep using my headcanon ending and try to enjoy the trilogy. Not sure if it's going to work. And it's sad to think there won't be any more awesome Mass Effect stuff after this. Can't quite determine if I'm feeling angry, sad or just bitter.
I just had to write something about this. I will try to talk of Liara again now. Not sure how easy that's going to be.

Yeah...If I were to guess...it seems like they will add in a few more cinematics at the end (like you said, showing the crew leaving Shepard and getting on the Normandy...showing why Joker leaves with the Normandy, etc. I think clarifying that will just introduce more plot holes) then epilogue slides after the crew lands and....bingo!
Anyway, there's still this.

So... I just got back, and, well... this is just awful. Guess that's it. No possibility of a successful ending, no motivation for the Reapers that makes sense, no varied ends. I'm not sure if I really expected them to actually fix this mess but at least there was hope before.

That is what I believe too. It does not matter that they show how Garrus and Liara got onboard the Normandy, the fact that they even fled in the first place is a plothole. It goes completely against their character to flee during that moment.
Explainaing the endings wont really make them better. In the end we still get an ending that betrays the spirit of Mass effect, just so Casey Hudson and Mac Walters can have their grimdark!endings.

Gosh....this is so utterly frustrating!<_<
Edit: and as they are so proud of their game and really like it maybe they should start buying it themselves. I for sure will not throw more money down their throat!

I think she will. Even with the new status quo she has around 900 years to go.
But I´m done with ME and anything the heads of the dev team put their hands on. They aren´t getting me twice.

The thing Bioware need to realize is that you can "clarify" this ending as much as you want. The unlogic will still be there (SPACE MAGIC). And even IF they somehow manage to explain it, it will still be a HORRIBLE ending. Nothing will change that. Even if the relays somehow did NOT blow up the major parts of the galaxy everyone will still be screwed. Even if the crew somehow survived on that god forsaken planet they're not getting what THEY deserve either. FTL drives won't take the fleets anywhere from Earth (would take hundreds to thousands of years just to get to a nearby system), everyone will starve. Shepard and his/her LI will never meet again (poor Liara).
This is an OUTRAGE!
The problems with the ending come in two catagories. The first is how they told it, which they seem to be fixing with the DLC. The second is what the story was, which they aren't changing but is my biggest problem.
