I can't wait to see Liara's epilogue. Some want that a mystery, so they can make up their own canon, but I'd honestly prefer seeing an official one.

She's trapped on that planet for the rest of her life.

End of epilogue really:crying:

Was reading through the announcement thread for this clarification DLC, and came across this. I found it highly amusing and figured it might cheer some people up.

Green Lantern is Justice League, but your point still stands.  ;)  And that's where I think a lot of people are missing the mark.  This wasn't just a bad ending for one game.  This was a bad ending for a series of games.  100+ hours worth of gameplay for many of us.  I saw a list yesterday of the top 6 "worst endings in video games," none of which were Mass Effect.  Some of them were definitely head-scratchers, but each ending was the ending to that game, and that game alone.

Not only was the ending unfulfilling for Mass Effect 3, not only did it not address anything that you did in Mass Effect 1 or 2, it effectively took a **** on the entire universe, much in the same way Dragons of Summer Flame did for Dragonlance (except that there wasn't any "twist" ending there).  Some people think that the next game will have to take place so far in the future that none of the events from this story arc will matter.  And that's a reasonable assumption, but...  Synthesis means that everybody is part robot (or something).  Destroy means there are no more geth.  Control means...  something...  And that of course ignores the outcome of the geth/quarian conflict, whether the genophage was cured or not, whether Wrex/Bakara or Wreav were in charge of the krogans...  A few thousand years in the future those things would probably still matter.

Without Mass Relays long distance travels will take years to decades. Think if we had to go back to sail ships. Krogan numbers for instance are going to matter little on Rannoch. Same with Rachni (second biggest cop out in the game).

Just venting.  getting it out of our systems the disappointment of this new proposed clarity adding of cutscenes to an all ready ****ty ending.  Nothing new really.

Oh, you are correct.. I was confusing Thor's rather crap ending with GLs rather crap ending... /uploads_user/1070000/1069890/43395.gif
But it's still the same, as you pointed out! They didn't end the series, just that segment of the story.

Ah, so, they finally addressed the elephant in the room. Nothing new then. Polished crap is still crap. Headcanon full steam ahead. And my eternal pledge to never drop a single cent into Bioware's pocket again. They can suck on rotten eggs.

Well, I personally don't think they ended the series. I think they just wanted to reset it for ME4. So 20, 000 years later, everyone's making first contact again. Only a small few turned into cyborgs because either the blast didn't effect them, or because certain groups did Reaper Tech experiments. Wrex and Wreav are both dead, and either cured, or evolved past it. Quarians and Geth are either canon dead, or canon alive, from survivors from Homeworld attack. And Rachni are dead, or somehow still alive again, despite the Queens death. And Mass Relays were destroyed or damaged, and only recently repaired, allowing Turians, Asari, and Human meet again for the first time in years.

What I want to say about, and to, Bioware and the lead people on Mass Effect 3, cannot be published on a public forum. It probably does have three colours though. And lots of speculation, can't go without that.

But having said all that, I feel that I may only hang around the Liara thread every now and then, since there is no real reason to visit the BSN or indeed offer my custom to Bioware in the future.

Blue babies ahoy!

There's no accounting for Destroy AND synthesis. It has to be one or the other. And personally I don't care about the next ME game, not when they shafted Shepard and crew. They can take the clarification and stick it where the sun don't shine.

I will probably get flamed pretty badly, but I think we fans may have been a bit too whiny and demanding. I mean, we have demanded more closure and clarifications, fair enough I can understand that. But when we are finally being given exactly that (and with no charge even) some people are still raging.

Actually I disagree with you. Customers who PAY for a product and are NOT SATISFIED with the product, HAVE A RIGHT to complain about that product. And as a producer that sells said "for profit" product, resting on "artistic vision" is nothing more than a huge slap and disconnect from their paying customers.
I also believe that the movement shot itself in the foot by staying "too civil" and letting a few people be too generally vague about "what exactly" was wrong with the end. Clarification and closure were really the wrong punch words to use for this, because in reality the issue with the ending is that it was all an asspull that didn't fit with the other 99.8% of the series, and the decision against ending a great series on a high note should be fatal (and is fatal with me).

Easy boy, easy! I understand you are frustrated, but seriously, completely changing the endings have never been in question. I know many would like it so, but please: Do people really think Bioware/EA would use those kind of resources just to please the fans?? And not to mention; there are people who genuinely like the endings. Doesn´t their opinon count as well??
The Mass Effect brand is, no matter who people look at it, the property of Bioware/EA. They can do whatever they want with it, even if it displeases the fans. Yeah, I know, it doesn´t seem fair to those who have invested themselves in the games etc. etc. but that is how the machine works. Blame the machine, not the man (no pun intended).

Anyway, the DLC or whatever it is will be free, so at least you don´t have to pay for it now that you have declared you won´t give Bioware anymore of your hard earned moneyImage IPB

And remember: Don't sell the skin till you have caught the bear.

There's probably going to be a blue baby. Accepting Liaras gift will probably determine whether or not it's Shepards.

That doesn't really make too many people here happy. They wanted to share some actual peace time with Liara, not have that whole heroic schtick where the hero dies but their love lives on in their child.

FTS I say, I wanted to travel the galaxy with Liara.

Like I said, if they can write around it. In Control, the Relays are damaged, and the Citadel probably disappeared with the Reapers. If they're damaged, then no one is meeting anyone till they're repaired. Same with Destroy. Citadel blew up. Synthesis, the blast didn't effect everyone. Making many places uneffected. Or everyone's experimenting with Reaper Tech, that 20, 000 years later, everyone's is cybernetic regardless. Not all Geth were hit by the Destroy blast. etc. There's a way to write around everything.
