Anyway, there's still this.

Wow.

Those sliders actually gave me more closure than the actual Mass effect 3 ending, and left a more bittersweet taste in my mouth as galactic civilization recovered in it. :crying:

There's probably going to be a blue baby. Accepting Liaras gift will probably determine whether or not it's Shepards.

Why isn´t anyone speculating that Liara got pregnant when her and Shepard actually had sex??
Doesn´t that seem more, you know: Possible??

But maybe at that point they still had hope shepard would survive?  that either of them would survive. But come the end when you go shooting up into a beam of unknown...the increased liklihood your not coming back..sorta slaps the realism back into you, choking out any flames of hope.  Sort of a ...last chance moment.  Not sure i would agree with it but...eh Liara's choice, shes the one thats gonna be raising that kid alone :(

Shepard was always going to die let's face it. You might not like it. But it's true.

On top of that one thing I've been thinking about is whether or not maiden stage Asari can even get pregnant. For all we know Shepard, and Liara might have had to wait a hundred years before they could even have one.

So I'd personally settle for the one child.

Let's say Joker FTL to a planet instead of going through a Relay, and we know this because of the Extended Cut. A planet that's near our solar system. Then they can get picked up, because they're close enough for the fleets. Salarians, Krogan, Humans, and Asari now have a planet they can farm food off of. And if the Quarians are alive, then there's Live Ships that the Turians can get food from as well. And all species start working to get back home, and repair Relays.

nono, i was totally putting on my jayne face.

Serenity:
Zoe: "do you really think any of us will survive this?"
Jayne: "well i might!"

The whole hero has to die and be a martyr lost its magic for me after my first trip to afghanistan.  HATE.

also in regards to the whole maiden pubescent argument - i say meh..its open to lots and lots of speculation.  there is nothing definitive in mass effect lore that really confirms or denies it.

I disagree. The tone of the series wasn´t one where the hero dies in more endings than the villains will work. I don´t get why in the last decade or so many authors think heroes have to die and/or live a misserable life in order to make stories better.

Why? Please don't bring up that outdated and completely untrue argument that says the hero always dies if it's a good movie/game. If so Luke skywalker wants a word with you. So would Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas.

There should've been an option for Shepard to survive, he's always survived against impossible odds so he shouldn't just always die at the end. That's just a cheap plot to invoke some sadness. If the galaxy hadn't gone completely to hell and Shepard and Liara could've met up again after the ending I wouldn't have been so dissapointed with it as I am now...

Somehow I have this image in my head....new cut scenes in black and white....funny piano music...a slide of text inbetween. Didn't a silent movie got an Oscar this year? That was very artistic...maybe Bioware is striving for that?

If they let the same person handle this who did the fantastic photoshop of Tali's face....I wouldn't know what could possibly go wrong?!:bandit:

Or everyone's experimenting with Reaper Tech, that 20, 000 years later, everyone's is cybernetic regardless. Not all Geth were hit by the Destroy blast. etc. There's a way to write around everything.

How do you account for the binary of galactic life being hybrids or organic?

You can't write an entire story arc around that bs. Think about it, really.

This is something I want to know too. But even if they are rescued, Joker would never forgive Shepard for killing EDI, and I won't blame him. And Shepard won't be able to forgive herself for killing the Geth, right after she saved them all.

screw all that, Bioware's version can go rot in a dark hole in hell. I'm writing my own canon, and my friends don't goddamn die because it's edgier and more artistic. I only got back half an hour ago, so I'm doing the angry bit that you guys did hours before, please forgive me. I may stay angrier for longer though, so... I'll probably just lurk if I start ranting. Erm, someone please just tell me to go away for a bit if I start ranting?

so for me BioWare not go to create new species and new world, BioWare have made all in this series, so if the Realy not expload and the Normandy dont go in the strange tropical planet, Mass Effect Universe not finish,

for me Mass Effect is made by Asari,Salarian,Turian, krogan,Quarian,Human,Volus,Elcor,Batarian,Drell,Vorcha,

not exist Mass Effect without this species,

i have loved ME for Liara and for all the species in this Universe.

Shepard's story should be done after Mass Effect 3, but death is not the only end to a story.  Thinking that GrimDark endings automatically equate to "good" endings isn't any more ridiculous than thinking that "good" endings require everything to be saccharine.  There are shades of grey in everything.  A price must be paid to make the journey have impact, but it's not necessary for the hero to die at the end.

Well it seemed like they were near a relay when it was destroyed...if not why would the Normandy crash? The magic green/red/blue ball of energy didn't destroy anything else just by touching it (except for the Reapers possibly).

I've heard that EDI can come out of the Normandy at the end when picking the Destroy ending.  Can't confirm it...I got Liara/Javik and then Liara/Garrus.

Nah, ranting is fine.

I'll takea wait and see approach with this thing.  I don't have high hopes for it and will probably end up rejecting it in favor of my own slightly delusional head canon I've created over the past month.

Ok, I can't stand it any longer, every time I see Doozer's avatar, I want to ask this:

Doozer, what do you hear?

I'm doing my best to keep an open mind about the DLC thing. I'm very interested in what will happen with PAX tomorrow, and ... well, chin up, everyone. While my unhappiness with the ending brought me to the forums, the community and kindred spirits of other ME fans kept me here. Whatever happens, I'm glad I got to (kinda?) meet everyone, especially in this thread. You guys inspired me to do fan art, something I haven't felt to create in years. I'm even working on some little ME comics (opened my DA account back up, links soon).

So whatever happens and before we all go our separate ways in the coming weeks, I wanted to say thank you. For everything. (Liara quote not intended, but I'm leaving it in there.)

Like I said. 20,000 years later, ending A) The Blast only affected 10% of organics. And those 10% are still around in the other endings by people experimenting with Repear Tech, Borg style.

There's a way to write how all three endings end up at the exact same point years later.

That neither confirms or denies anything really. It's extremely vague. There's still room for a blue baby and still room for a happy ending.
