Morning all. Or afternoon, or possibly even evening!
This may be a little long-winded but I'll try to limit myself. To cut to the chase, I'm on my third playthrough, and I've been getting some different different dialogue in a couple of areas with Liara. They aren't major, just one or two different lines, but I was wondering whether anybody else had come acrosss them, and knows what triggered them.
I should mention that I never romanced Liara in this playthrough.
Ok. so the first is to do with Matriarch Aethyta. When I first talked to her, she still mentioned that Shepard was Liara's boyfriend, and Shepard still said the, "Nobody messes with my girl," line with the Renegade interrupt. Not sure what caused that. However, when Liara and Aethyta begin talking about sex appeal, I was expected the thermal clip line. Instead I got a variation I'd never heard before.
Liara: "What? That's not true, Shepard listens to me."
Aethyta: I've seen the way you two look at each other. I'm surprised your panties haven't caught fire."
Nothing like a little UST to make things interesting! Has anyone else had this line, and/or knows what triggers it?
"You'd never do that."
"They're dying by the millions! I told those people on Thessia we'd save them!"
I got:
"Liara, you had nothing to do with the attack on Thessia."
"Nothing to do with it?! I told those people on Thessia we'd save them!"
Shepard also lent forward towards her, rather than pace to one side. I know these are very minor, but if anyone has any answers as to what causes these small changes, it would be greatly appreciated.
I got both the Renegade interrupt (I reloaded and didn't use it later) and the line about Shepard and Liara during Liara-Aethytia conversation when I romanced nobody in ME, Miranda in ME2 and ME3. I don't really know why they happened, since the only dialogue that can trigger the romance in ME3 with Liara if you haven't romanced her previously is later in the game, near two shops.
About the dialogue after Thessia, I'm not sure, since I played with the Italian VO, but I think I got the "They're dying by the millions!" part.
The first two are a bit weird if you romanced someone else, but they don't trigger the romance. In the last dialogue with Liara on Earth I got the friendship cutscene. In my opinion it's some kind of bug that during Aethytia's dialogues (and maybe Thessia) recorded Liara as romanced.
