Yeah but It might be a bug, someone forgot to turn a flag when you pick the destroy ending or something, I think EDI has the lowest "friendship" rating so it is hard to get her to come out, in the same vein Javik has one of the highest frienship scores attainable so a lot of people get him (myself included, and I freakin hate Javik )

*snips*

Oh yeah I got Javik too and I only used him on Thessia, so when he came out with Liara I was like "what the hell? I used Vega WAY more than you, dude...."

I hope it was not a bug, tho'... I like my whole crew alive and kicking

I don't know about Ammonite, but I liked The Left Hand of Darkness.  It's older (1969) and is considered one of the earliest 'feminist' Science Fiction stories because of its take on gender.

I might check those out, then. Thanks

I can vouch for Ammonite. I've read it a couple of times already and enjoyed it each time. It's actually one of my favorite sci-fi novels, it really does bring up some interesting issues/ideas about gender in society as the main character travels to the different parts of the colony and meets the different groups of women because when you take the men away these women had to create a completely different type of society than ours. It is a society in it's early stages but it doesn't take much to picture a fairly similar development path for the Asari.

Thanks Speedy, I'll look for this book too.

I found very interesting the whole asari evolution we see on Thessia. It's somewhat sad to think part of it was forged (or pushed) by the protheans and not some holy mythological figure, but if there's one thing I like in sci-fi is the lore behind the new races and asari have such interesting things...

I know, I did not took Javik to any mission at all, the only one outside of my standard team (Liara and Garrus/Kaidan) I took anywhere was EDI to Grissom Academy as I had just gotten her and wanted to see how she played, and since she kept dying I left her as bridge crew for the Normandy

It's a reasonable conclusion to draw since Cerberus basically went all out and as a terrorist group isn't concerned with any of the laws concerning human augmentation and genetic engineering. Though in Shepard's universe humanity was subject to widespread genetic modification prior to first contact, Miranda being an example of the extreme end of things with her lifespan being about 225 years by her own admission ("Half and again" compared to the average human which is already 150 years). Shepard is stuffed full of cloned organs and cybernetics which according to that research terminal studded every muscle fiber in the body and glow in the dark if you think mean thoughts or some rubbish.

So being able to punch Yagh and fire weapons that would break human bones as well as survive grevious injuries leads me to believe that Shepard after Lazarus is way more than the average human. More along the lines of a transhuman.

I've been saying, Shepard is the first Astartes! Astartes can potentially live up to 1,000 years, so there's no problem!

*snip*

So Shep=Aphrodites.... now we know why everybody loves them some shep.  so does this mean that Liara is Helen now?

I just don't like the EDI part. It wouldn't kill to keep her alive (she DID have changed her programs a lot).... Oh well... [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/angry.png[/smilie]

I'd say that's still up in the air.  It seems they (writers) had disagreements about it.

AHA! So I'm not crazy to think that answer sounded fishy! [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/wondering.png[/smilie]

didn't EDI die if you picked destroy?

She does. But from what jlb said the writers were not 100% in favor of this.

Well, at least they didn't kill Liara.... that would be a major messed up thing to do

In some situations EDI doesn't die when you pick destroy though, it's weird and may be a bug but.... then again....

Yes but a meatbag that even HK47 would approve of, I'm not gonna lie when i first saw legion in me2 i was hoping for him to turn into a HK type character, I'm glad i was wrong.

Am I insane for having high hopes for The Extended Cut? It just feels like that with all the fan feedback they can't screw up

Nope this interview with weaks whether its unofficial or not gives me glimmers of hope just because it confirms that not all the writers were on board for the ending

Hola amigos.

I finally made a Liara T'Soni album here on BSN. It's got some awesome pictures in it, and my profile is open to everyone, so feel free to take a gander.

I didn't draw any of those by the way. Got them off of Google Images, so I don't know the names of the artists.

Anyway, just thought I'd point that out.

You're welcome.

Thessia is the mission I love to hate. I'd been so looking forward to getting to visit Liara's homeworld and then when I actually got there, the game made me feel like a class A jerk after the mission. It was interesting getting to learn about Athame but it really annoyed me that all of it was fanciful tales of how the Protheans were meddling with the Asari for years. It does make me wonder though just how much Liara will continue to like the Protheans if her and Javik write that book because the more we learn about them the less I like the Protheans as whole even if I do find Javik amusing.

I think Liara will always like the Protheans in the sense that she'll always find them interesting.  She definitely won't romanticize them in the same way as she once did.

As for the book, Liara and Shepard can retire off the royalties for that thing XD

Javik was my squadmate on the Thessia mission & I liked the dialogue.
You are right, though, I had some mixed feelings about the whole Asari/Prothean thing...

Protheans were a bit of Roman Empire a bit of... hell I can't even describe, but if every one of them if like Javik, they're major self-centered a-holes... But I guess it comes with being born and raised in the biggest empire in the galaxy... they played gods and and hoarded races.

I'm impressed by how strong Liara is. The first time she impressed me was during LOTSB when she was pressured and suddenly took the decision to BE the Shadow Broker.... Then after Thessia.... Sure she got sad and all, but man, she saw her world crumble (literally) and her History class too, actually, everything she loved and believed was destroyed somehow, but she remained strong and went forward.

I would have loved to see how she deals with those informations later... I mean... religious crysis and all. But I guess that's wishful thinking...

Well you have to place Javik in perspective, he is a war torn depressed soldier nothing more nothing less, it would be as if someone digs up from the past a Roman Legionnaire, is he going to talk to you about the achievements of greco/roman art and architecture? about the great philosophers? about the trading hubs and networks that where formed thanks to the roads linking Europe, Africa and Asia like never before or since until the 20th century? most likely no, he will talk to you about how the legion fought, about how the legion conquered, about how other civilization where "civilized" and absorbed into the empire and about the might of rome.

With that in mind I think although the writers tried really hard to ruin the protheans by turning them into a cookie cutter evil overlord space empire they can still be salvaged in a future game/book/comic if done correctly

Fair warning if you look up Liara right now on D.A, some ahole has put mod pics of liara and foot-jobs.Why do people feel the compulsion to demean Liara, in such a fashion? And it's almost always mshep in these images.Do other mshep players find it insulting?

(Oh and this one is nice.)

I heard someone asked Merizan if it was possible for Shep to be reunited with Liara and she said it is, depending on your choices. So hope that's true! :crying:

I can totally imagine on Asari's MTV: "109 AND PREGNANT!!" then we get this whole episode featuring the life of Shepard-T'Soni household and how those cute baby children are doing.

And something scandalous about onde of the kids trying to biotically get daddy's new shiny weapon....

yeah a little bit there should be no degredation of Liara allowed but this is the internet so itts bound to happen.  In private though well you should join PETA where you can discuss the merits of omnitools, chocolate and other types of fetishes that Liara might be into.

Also here's a link to a good blog i found on the endings
