I think Liara will always like the Protheans in the sense that she'll always find them interesting. She definitely won't romanticize them in the same way as she once did.
As for the book, Liara and Shepard can retire off the royalties for that thing XD
That's likely true, she's spent far too long studying them to lose interest but reading some of those updates she made to her notes as the game progressed once Javik joined the squad it was easy to see that the Protheans had lost a great deal of their romanticized appeal for Liara.
I can just picture Liara and Shep living off the royalties. Shep might go crazy without anything to do though so Liara will have to think of ways to keep her entertained so Shep won't start doing target practice in their yard or something.

Protheans were a bit of Roman Empire a bit of... hell I can't even describe, but if every one of them
if like Javik, they're major self-centered a-holes... But I guess it comes with being born and raised in the biggest empire in the galaxy... they played gods and and hoarded races.
I'm impressed by how strong Liara is. The first time she impressed me was during LOTSB when
she was pressured and suddenly took the decision to BE the Shadow Broker.... Then after Thessia.... Sure she got sad and all, but man, she saw her world crumble (literally) and her History class too, actually,
everything she loved and believed was destroyed somehow, but she remained strong and went forward.
I would have loved to see how she deals with those informations later... I mean... religious crysis
and all. But I guess that's wishful thinking...
I was more surprised that after loosing on Thessia Liara attempts to comfort Shepard and then when it's Liara turn to be comforted Shepard does a really poor job. The motivating her to get back to work and help the refugees was a good idea but Shepard should have comforted her first, give her a shoulder to cry on, then motivate her to get off the bed and put her Shadow Broker network to good use. That's what you are supposed to do when you love someone.

Well you have to place Javik in perspective, he is a war torn depressed soldier nothing more
nothing less, it would be as if someone digs up from the past a Roman Legionnaire, is he going to talk to you about the achievements of greco/roman art and architecture? about the great philosophers? about
the trading hubs and networks that where formed thanks to the roads linking Europe, Africa and Asia like never before or since until the 20th century? most likely no, he will talk to you about how the legion
fought, about how the legion conquered, about how other civilization where "civilized" and absorbed into the empire and about the might of rome.
With that in mind I think although the writers tried really hard to ruin the protheans by turning them into a cookie cutter evil overlord space empire they can still be salvaged in a future game/book/comic if done correctly
Javik himself cracks me up, the only time I really want him to stop talking is on Thessia because of how if affects Liara. The rest of the time his dialogue is some of the more interesting since we really didn't know a lot about the Protheans before ME3 but they aren't quite as likeable as I had expected them to be. Which isn't really a bad thing, it was just unexpected. The writers did seem to be trying to turn them into an evil overlord space empire but I found it more interesting that I could see where the Salarians got there need for genetic experiments and uplifting other species from or that I could see where the Turians got their militaristic culture from and it seems the Asari pretty much owe them everything if Javik is right because they seemed to interfere more with the Asari than any other race. At least going by what Javik has told us.
