I would suggest playing through one of the ME games, preferably the first one and romance Liara (who else? ;D).
This alone will give enough inspiration for many pictures, take screenshots, write down small notes and spend a lot of time analysing the conversations with Liara.

Inspiration will come the more you read and the more you explore the world around you.
Colorbooks with animals, plants, rocks, etc. is a great way to get inspiration for hybrid humanoids and also the environment around the characters you make.

Anatomy is important, it expands your knowledge, your proportions and make you an overall better artist.

I bought the old one, but I can't seem to find it any more, but two new editions have been released, one with the human anatomy and one for animals. Worth the money.

The two books I recommended above is for the more advanced artist and a good place to start out is with the books from George Grant Bridgman and Andrew Loomis.

Those are the only two I have read regarding the ending that are catered towards Liaramancers.

The Lightspeaker got three really good ones aswell, but they are played out during ME1.

 Does anyone know if other characters show concern for Shepard's well beng during missions in ME3 or if that's just Liara? I've brought her to every mission, so never had anyone else ask if she's okay or such. There's something like three or four such moments if I remember correctly.

It started when Liara convinced her not to destroy the Rachni queen on Noveria. Shepard had been ready to destroy the Queen, but Liara's compassion and eloquence won her over.

2. Did you romance Liara on your first playthrough?

Oh yes. Shep had been flirting with both Kaidan and Liara at frst, but ultimately he was just no coompetition.

3. How did your Shepard feel about Liara's treatment of Shep on Illium? (pre-LotSB)

Frustrated, hurt, and betrayed. It had been two years for Liara, but for Shep it was just a few days since the last time they had been together, and with the uncertainity she was experiencing about being told she'd died and been brought back? Shep needed to feel like there was something, anything, of her old life still intact, and Liara's initial standoffishness crushed her.

4. What did your Shepard tell Liara about how she/he felt in the cabin convo after LotSB? Worried/Hpeful/Frustrated?

Worried. She was still working with her crew to find a way to make it through the Omega 4 relay alive, the thought of facing the beings that had killed her before was a lot to deal with. But under the hope was hope born of knowing that Liara would be there for her.

5. Did your Shepard visit Liara before going back to Earth to stand trial?

After the Normandy made it back from the SM, Shep dropped each of the aliens in her crew off in the location they requested, and then made her way to Hagalaz. She spent a few days there before giving in to the demands of duty and returning to Earth to face the charges against her.

6. Who are Liara's closest friends in your headcanon?

All of the squadmates from the first game became friends to one degree or another, but it wasn't until Liara learned about Aethyta that she could explain why she felt so much at ease around Wrex. But Ashley is, perhaps, her best friend other than Feron because of all the missions where they were the two who were backing Shep up.

7. How many blue babies should there be? None? One? Five?

At least one. Still working on my post-ME3 fiction, so not yet certain how many more than that they had.

During missions? Hmmm, that's a tough one, and I don't really remember.. Perhaps Garrus does, but because Liara's the only constant during my missions, I don't really remember what the others have to say sometimes.

Its actually pretty likely that Benezia's influence on a young Liara affected her development and it makes sense from that point that Liara is the secret guarded type.

Anyway, we love our Greek influences here, not so much the Greek tragedy. But it would be rather... interesting, if Liara got kidnapped by Cerberus, and then Shepard calls in favours from friends and launches a more modest 10,000 ships to get her back. Of course, with Cerberus going off the rails in ME 3, I don't think kidnapping would be their style..

Anyway, isn't it also probable that Aethyta actually left of her own free will, because she didn't want to affect Liara's development? She's exactly the sort with a damn tough outer shell, but a soft gooey centre. So she made up a few reasons for her and Benezia breaking up, and then went on to watch over Liara from the sidelines, as it were. By her own indirect admission, she's not exactly the finest role model. Although I do wonder how Liara's half sister grew up.

If you had visited the thread earlier you would have seen it even earlier and had a happy headcanon. 'tis the work of Neeh, supremely talented regular poster here. There are a couple other gifs floating about as well, one especially funny one of FemShep expressing her fascination for Liara's scalp crests.

Yes, but is that the truth, or is she just saying that for Liara's benefit? Their relationship didn't seem to be as clear cut as Aethyta made it out to be.

That was my thinking as well, that it wasn't Benezia that cut Aethyta out. But Aethyta who believed she would be no good at raising a child and left because she did not want to have Liara learning from her and rather from the Benezia whom she also said was "a hell of alot nicer than I am".
And I think Benezia kept quiet to Liara about it as it might be a bit difficult to explain to her daughter that her "father" left because she did not think she would be a good influence for Liara's upbringing.

Can't comment on anything regarding Javik. Mostly because I don't own the "From Ashes" DLC.

It can be very helpful to have a well-established headcanon ending if you want to be able to play through the game more times It's not perfect, but it's a solution for now. A lot of good video and text endings floating around here if you need motivation too.

Most of my Sheps are paragon and I think I picked the furstration line a few times. It's the one in which he says he's tired of the council not listening to him and his friends not believing him if I remember it right?

Personally my Paragon always picks the hopeful part, because Paragons are delusional like that....
But that quizz was more about Shepard's who romance Liara.
My Paragon's girlfriend punshes him in the face.... most romantic moment in ME3. <3
