That's interesting. May be a bug though, if this is the case.

take a not-so-vocal squadmember alongside Liara - one that has no idea who jack would be.  Vega, Prothy the prothean...etc etc.
Liara sould trigger the name line. Femshep, Broshep - does not matter.  I dont know if romance (with jack) affects it or not, though.
Although try reloading a save prior (with your garrus/Liara femshep PT -
they'll alternate positions...see if Liara then mentions it, otherwise

I took Vega, all I got was, "I don't know Lola, she kinda reminds me of you" or something.

I didn't take Prothy though, I may just have to do that. But EDI, Garrus and Vega all talk before Liara. <_<

Romance? Possibly, but that would mean FemShep gets locked out automatically. Hmm..

i not play the game whit male shepard, i play the entire trilogy whit Female Sheaprd,

but i wacht one video about this dialogue, in this video liara in the Gryssom Accademy reveals the real name about Jack, only whit male Shepard,

this is strange,

but Jack not have real preference whit male or famele, so why not heppern the same ?

and maybe this revelation come only if you have romanced Liara in ME1, Jack in ME2 and Liara in ME3, but only for Male Shepard

For Grissom I HAD to take Javik to get the line. Vega's dialogue kept overruling Liara's and I was like "Dammit Big McLargehuge!"

Apparently Javik solves this mystery, as Maro notes. I took everyone but Javik, because I didn't need another biotic on the mission.

Shepard (bottom):  I would like that...but just as friends.  I don't think it's going to work.

I would have suggested "Just us" or "Just the two of us" as well.
Your Shepard responses fit in great as well.
And then of course the mandatory hug/hold hands - kiss - fade to black.

One thing I really liked about that scene though was how Liara talked about her past, I would have loved to be able to have a conversation with her where you simply talk about her past and getting some more insight into her life.

Well, I had Javik with me when I heard Liara talk about Jack's real name ( which is Jennifer in case some of you don't know ). I had Garrus once, but Jack was "glad" to see him and that overruled Liara's dialogue.

I don't understand how you (or anyone else) could complain about her "character" since the writers didn't have the sense to write any of that for her. Complain about the writing, not the characters who end up being nothing more than playback devices.

That is what I meant. I complained about her as a character from a metagaming perspective, we never hear anything about her backstory which I felt was a shame.

How would you change that line? What should Liara have said instead?

I like to think like this: 

Liara's "just friends" could simply be a way to tease Shepard. Which seems reasonable considering the reply Shepard gives ("Friends doesn't cut it anymore") which Liara replies with more teasing ("Wow that sounds serious!"). And the part where she says that Shepard should feel "extremely lucky that I feel the same way too". The whole conversation after "just friends" seems a bit teasy if you have romanced Liara earlier. 

You may also see it from the perspective that Liara's not sure if Shepard really likes her. Then she pulls the "just friends" just to see how Shepard is going to react.

Apart of me wishes I never got that line, because if I did LOTSB, and then re-stated that I wanted to continue the relationship after Mars, then I shouldn't be told "Just Friends". I think it really comes down to not wanting to keep "confirming" with her. So "Just the two of us" would make more sense to me.

But how I interpreted it was that Liara teased Shepard into committing. That she's been friendzoning him, so he'd go crazy, and take action.
