Most Asari names end in 'a', but I like to think that Shep and Liara would name a child after Ashley. She was a good friend, and Shepard's obviously upset about her death.

Nah got the real thing two decks below.  Just requires a bit of legwork to get to and a whole lot of smooth talkin' - if she has a problem with shep staring for long periods of time I suppose she could always send up a replacement pic... but until then...

And the Prothean sphere. And the old helmet.

I don't think either of them will have a problem as such. The problem would be that there's so many clothes in the way.

Nyxeris
Liselle
Falere
Mornith(even if it's an alias)

Most do end in 'a'.  That is certain but not all.

Yeah, Lightspeaker pointed that out to me earlier as well. Hence the edit, and I let the original stand as a testament to the rocks that I have in place of a brain.

Yeah, I miss those too. And the dog tags.

But the photo I miss because it was something that's there. So if Liara isn't around, apart of her still is.

I have Leia Shepard looking at Liara's picture right now.  Funny this question gets asked.

Yes, I miss looking at Liara's picture.  Even though she is two floors below.  I also miss the prothean sphere and N7 helmet.  Seems like everything that was from the DLC (excluding SB model) we didn't get back.  Dress/suit from Kaumui as well.  I want it all back.  The dog tags Anderson tosses at Shepard does not look like the same tags Liara gave back.  The new ones have N7 on them and the ones Liara gave you did not.

Did that prothean sphere amount to anything? ...i think it sent out a message - but my memory is a little hazy (hated the firewalker missions) did it do anything in 3 at all?  or can I still pretend it was glorified paperweight Shep sent to liara for her birthday and unfortunately went down with the broker ship obviously.

Nothing.  Which is making me not want to do those missions with this redo run I am on now.  I'll end up doing it anyway.  I would think Liara would like it.  Maybe Shep gave it to her.

Cerberus sent an email claiming they're studying it. But for some reason it's on your coffee table.

Ah the old switch-aroo trick.  What cerberus really got was a melted down and molded ball of normandy's cutlery with a rigged explosive inside..  Like hell im giving them prothy tech.

That's a winner right there.  Well played.

Liara's thought on Cerberus getting any intel from her.

There was something about the sphere sending out biotic data. It wasn't mentioned in ME3.

Am I the only one that thinks an asari child should have an asari name? And what's with the predilection to name kids after dead people?

It seems some of the asari names are ancient greek or roman names.  So, I went there with the names I picked for the first two anyway.

Well, I don't think race or nationality should be a factor. Nothing wrong naming your kid after some Lord of the Rings character after all.

Why not? We're in space. Free from orgin. You don't need Earth names. You don't need American names. You don't need Freedom's Progress names.

Your free to make your own nationality.

I miss the picture, used to checking it all the times in ME2, she looks so beautiful, innocent in it and I was afraid of cheating her :P
And the dog tag, her gift, how could it disappear.

A homogeneous galactic name-giving culture sounds kind of dull.

True for the name thing my Shep has two little blueberries.  One is Lily Benezia because i just love the name Lily and even though i don't like the name Benezia i would think Shep and Liara would atleast want for Benezia's name to live on somewhere so why not as a middle name.  The Second is Medea, the name of which i stole from Kil although i had to explain to herr secratary the myth behind the name.

I honestly expected to get this one up a LOT earlier in the week than this. However I hope the result has been worth waiting for.

Author notes/idle thoughts:
- Firstly, credit again to Luxure and moreeman06 for editorial stuff. Be a damn mess without someone to look over it first.
- Also a nod of thanks to Kilshrek who has been listening to my random rambling about this for a while.
- This one is set between Virmire and Ilos. Enough said.
- Again should be suitable for stand-alone reading or (my recommendation) reading in conjunction with my other short stories.
- This is longer than any of the others, including the preamble it comes in well over 3,700 words; 900 words more than Sorrow.
- As ever I've tried to choose a title that represents the overall theme and feel of the piece. Tough one this one, I have to say. Its very different from when I first invisioned it and thought about calling it "Loss".
