Drop the Mantis and use a Carnifex with a clip and scope mod. Stasis bubble and rapid fire single headshot kills are unbeatable.
The only bad thing about playing an accuracy type build are all the krogan players and the vanguards that insist on rushing/nova/bashing everything and always getting in the way.

The Carnifex is insanely accurate for a pistol, to the point where you can effectively snipe from across the map.  It doesn't have nearly the amount of zoom as a proper sniper rifle, even with the scope mod, but it does allow for 6 shots before reloading and you're not horribly gimped if something gets within 10 meters of you.

The cake is a lie....just wanted to let you know!

By the way...anyone else slightly miffed that they didn't show the actual kiss in the date scene in-game? I know I am. They stand there with closed eyes, blindly trying to aim for the other's mouth....and then...fade to black and BAAAM we're back at Shep standing somewhere.

For a date scene that locks the romance with Liara that is pretty lame!

It faded to black because right after Shep took her right there on the Presidium.

I'm just upset that after rekindling the romance in LotSB, telling Liara how much you care for her on Mars, and then telling her you want to be together shortly after Mars, Liara defaults to the "Just friends" line.

Granted she follows up with letting Shep know she's interested in spending the rest of their lives together, but still...

I still think the lamest part of the entire Liara romance has to be the scene in Liara's quarters just after Thessia.  No matter how you play it, at least as a femshep, you are kind of a **** to Liara.  It really needs one of those Paragon interrupts (like in LotSB) where you just hug her and comfort her.  This is the love of Sehpard's life and the woman/mono-gendered-being she wants to spend the rest of her life with and she acts like that?  Really?  Fail.

The whole "confirm the romance" scene is a very close second. :?

Actually you do get to see Shepard and Liara kiss on the Citadel Date if you are romancing her for the first time in ME3. You don't if the romance is carried over from previous games. I played through on my paragon playthrough in which I romanced Liara in ME1 and was faithful through all three games and didn't see the kiss. In my renegade playthrough I jacked up my relationship really badly with Ashley which is who I romanced in ME1, and ended up with Liara as my only viable option. So I romanced her for the first time. I never chose renegade responses with her in any game and wasn't in a relationship when I talked to her, so I romanced her right there.

So yeah, first timers get to see the kiss. Long time Liara boyfriends/girlfriends don't.

Well that doesn't make sense. Both should get that, while romancers from the previous games get dialog that the relationship is still going, not the "just friends" crap.

This is clearly due to gameplay constraints. The Paramour scene on the Presidium is clearly meant for people who started with ME3, or otherwise didn't have a romance with Liara beforehand - it is how they lock in a romance with her.

Remember that everything beforehand is a bonus - it's a reward for staying faithful to Liara. A default, non imported Shep, doesn't get all that with Liara. He has to work his way up and then tell Liara he wants to romance her on the Presidium.

However, I'm only explaining it - not defending it. It clearly doesn't work as a "one size fits all" scene and that scene pretty much only works for a Shep that has not romanced Liara before - it is incredibly jarring and weird for a Shep and Liara who have been totally flirting with eachother for ages now to go through the "friends or not" conversation, again.

Personally - and I don't know why they didn't do this - I firmly believe that what they should've is simply this: if you tell Liara you want to still be with her, in that first conversation on the Normandy - you get locked in right then and there. You should've gotten the Paramour achievement right then.

This would also have freed them up to let the scene on the Citadel be a proper date and more flashing out of their romance.

I mean, it's weird enough that you don't get locked in because if you tell Liara you want to be with her, the game pretty much proceeds as if you two ARE a locked in couple. There's that whole "flatterer" scene, and characters make references to Liara/Shep being together...these aren't complaints. I loved that the relationship was fleshed out and more organic, and was visible beyond specific few scenes on the Normandy, and could be seen even in missions and such.

It is odd that they fade out instead of letting you see them kiss, though. Guess they wanted to save that for the heartfelt climax scene. I'm not going to accuse ME3 of being too tame, when it shows more than any ME game. I reserve my "too tame" complaints for ME2.

Its the same for Carnifex only the Carnifex has a lot more shots/clip and refire is very fast. I can out shoot any inf using any sniper rifle, thats includes the Black Widow (yes I have it). I can make 5 head shots in about 3 seconds , on a regular basis, which is not possible with any sniper rifle.

Ah, this got posted while I was typing up that other post. I definitely want to respond to this, because it always struck me as a bit off, too. Also interestingly enough - both the "paramour" scene and the "after Thessia" scene suffer from the same problem - they don't really differ for a Liara Loyal Shep, and a non loyal Shep. The writers attempted to make it a "one size fits all" scene, and in both cases failed.

The Thessia scene has it the worst. To my knowledge, there are literally no differences in this scene between a Shep that's romancing Liara and one that isn't. Oh sure, there's quite a bit between a Paragon/Renegade, but I'm not talking about that.

And it really stands out here - even a Paragon Shep is entirely too distant and cold to Liara here to fit a romance. Watch this scene again, and this time look at it as if Shepard is not romancing Liara. Make more sense now, seem fitting? I think it does. Therein is the problem - they didn't want to overcommit Shepard in case you weren't romancing Liara, so in the end he acts too cold if you are.

I think this scene is a very powerful one, for Liara, not Shepard. Going into her room after failing to save Thessia, and seeing her crying on her bed even before I went up and hit the interact key - it tore my heart out. I completely sympathized with her there, and the amount of emotion being portrayed - you could easily feel the despair she was going through.

But Shepard? Because they didn't write a version for if you're romancing her...it's just off. A Liara Loyal Shep really should've sat down and physically comforted her, too. Hugged her or something. He didn't act right at all, and I've said why.

Disappointing, this could've been a powerful scene for their romance, instead of just Liara. Shepard being weird totally detracts from the entire scene, too.

Honestly, I'd say this probably happened for the same reason a lot of stuff near the end falters - including Thessia itself - it was just rushed. Compare the beginning parts of the game to the end, and it's a major difference in quality. It's no coincidence that the vast majority of the romance with Liara happens in the first half of the game - that's where all the effort went. Then they had to quickly wrap things up so scenes had less and less variants and considered the personality of your Shep less and less.

I actually prefer the wider FOV with the pistol scope over the SR scopes. I can headshot just as well and still have a better FOV to see enemy movement and choose targets without having to unzoom and rezoom, which wastes time.

That's true.  I know that I've let a few bad guys sneak in too close and I try and zoom with my SR (habit, mostly) and wind up completely losing track of them.

As for which SR to use, I tend to prefer the Valiant.  Talk about quick reload!

edit: Guh...  Figures my totp would be about guns and not Liara.

Ah, that's too bad, you will need to buy Spectre packs since its a gold weapon, but it's probably one of the top 3 best weapons in MP,  for most classes.
