Now this is something I can't say for certain. I've never been able to bring myself to cheat on Liara in any playthrough where I romanced her. In fact I specifically did a renegade playthrough and chose Ashley so I could do whatever and not feel bad. i'm curious about this as well if anyone has an answer for it.

Haha, I certainly understand that. I only have a few playthroughs of the ME games, myself, but that's a testament to their quality because I normally hate replaying games. Still, I literally only have one Shepard that didn't romance Liara and wasn't a paragon.

It was a renegade in ME1, I felt I should at least try something different. I hated that Shepard. I didn't romance Liara that playthrough because that **** didn't deserve Liara. :V

But I completed ME1 with that guy, and decided that it wasn't worth it. I never imported him, and I've never played any of the ME games as a non Paragon, non Liara Loyal Shep again.

If you listen to how her dialog sounds, I get the impression she's joking. The problem is that she's not very funny. When Shepard says "Friends doesn't cut it for me anymore Liara." and she responds "Sounds serious." the tone of her comment indicates that it is some type of bad attempt at a sarcastic joke. At least that's how it sounded to me. I took video of it with FRAPS and I've watched it half a dozen times. That's always the impression I got.

Yeah, I always thought she was teasing a bit.

I was driving home today listening to one of my massive playlists like I've been doing for the last couple of months because I'm in the process of making both a playlist for the ME trilogy and for Shep/Liara so I randomly flip through my playlists trying to find a song that catches my attention and today my current favorite song for Shep/Liara came on 3 times during my drive to and from work and I thought I would share it. The other versions of this song I've heard were done by men but this singers voice is my weakness and I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it and I knew I had to put it on my Shep/Liara playlist.  Without You- by Lea Michele To me that song is Shep and Liara's relationship in ME2 and 3.

I have two complete playthroughs of ME1 as a Paragon with Liara. I modified the save for all renegade options and altered the file to romance Ashley instead. That's how I went into ME2 that way. While I love the story of ME1 I played it the least because of all the Mako crap. I've played ME2 completely 9 times. Most are mostly ManShep's and paragons. About six or 7 of them I think. They were all with Liara and loyal. I do have a FemShep playthrough with no romance in ME2 with Kaiden in the save file. (I modified a paragon ManShep save file into a FemShep Paragon who romanced Kaiden.) I've got a couple renegade plays with ManShep. Both were with Ashley. And while a lot of the renegade stuff made me laugh, a lot of it just makes you feel like a terrible human being for clicking on it. I actually would play that playthrough concurrently with a paragon playthrough and switch back and fourth when I got tired of being a psychotic and selfish bastard.

While my renegade ME3 playthrough ended up with Liara, I was never not nice to her and never did anything bad to her. I just screwed up everything with everyone else. And yeah, Liara does deserve better than that guy, but at least he treats her well. B)

I like the Liara character a lot. Probably a little more than is healthy. But she is lacking in the humor department.

Really, now? I never knew this. That's actually a very nice touch. I have to give them credit for that. You do get rewarded, at least some, for being loyal to her throughout the entire series instead of just in the end.

Will she confess to loving you, if you cheated on her in 2 but went back to her in 3?

Also, how does it play out? Do they say something else instead or what?

If you cheated on her but got back with her in ME3, instead of saying, "I love you, Shepard" she says "You mean so much to me". Shepard then has the option to say, "I love you, Liara T'Soni" to which Liara responds, "I...I love you too."

Main difference being that Shepard has to say "I love you" first and when Liara says it she kind of hestitates a bit, I would guess because you cheated on her. When you're faithful Liara doesn't hesistate a bit.

Scene here.

Hey, Indiana Jones did humour just fine. But since Liara's hotter, I guess it evens out.

The I love you first from Liara is only there if you did the DLC.  You can be faithful to Liara and not do the DLC and it the same if you cheated on her.  Weird I know.

My first run was with my canon (Leia) but I did it with the file from Jan 2010 and at that point it was just a rental from Gamefly and I didn't have the Cerberus Network yet.  I kept the game and got when they shipped me the box.  So there was no ME2 DLC in that run.  Shepard was the one to say I love you first with Liara being a little hesitant about saying I love you back.

She does. Apparently that is the only way she says it first. I find that really interesting, and fitting for her character. It's a really nice, small touch.

You have to do the DLC to get Liara to say I love you first.  Like I said in a previous post, you can remain loyal to Liara and not do the DLC.  Shepard is the one to say I love you first.  It plays the same if you cheated on her.  But you get the flatter kiss from Liara and all the same stuff on Mars if you romanced Liara in ME1 and didn't do the DLC.  For the most part the only difference is what lines Liara says (Bugged lines anyway) and the end game cabin scene.

Aha touche.  Can just envision Liara screaming "Sand!  Why did it have to be sand!?" or something.  OOh if we could get a liara/aethyta team up adventure like Iindiana Jones last crusade...be pure awesome.

Shepard: :( You hesitated a little in saying that.

Liara: <_< Well maybe if you had thrown Bioware ten bucks I'd be a little more sure about your commitment to this relationship.

Shepard::unsure: ...I'll get my wallet.

Liara:

It could be spiders like Garrus.  He doesn't seem to like spiders very much.  Sand comment from Liara.

 LMAO!!!

I also forgot to say.  Liara only gives you the blue children line if you did the DLC.  Now, I do not know nor can confirm if she says that if you didn't pick happy ever after when she asks about your relationship with her.  I think my ren femShep went the rengade route, but told Liara it's not tomorrow yet instead of having her walk off looking hurt and disappointed.:crying:

Well, in a roundabout way the last crusade was kinda like ME 3. Aethyta meets Liara, they reconcile, and then Liara's LI dies. :?

Liara does complain about sand getting into certain places on Virmire if she's in your party.

Yeah.

I think it's a pretty big deal for her.

I loooooove that we get that little extra perk. Having her say it first feels right for some reason. After the goofy "friend" stuff earlier, it was great to see such a powerful affirmation of her feelings.

I might love the goodbye "I love you" even more. even though it's like being stabbed in the heart with a rusty blade.

Anyone know anything about the new asari adept?

I only remember something about Liara and Lesbians. Liara and blue Babies and Liara's belly button.

Justicar is nice, but the old Asari Adept is still THE damage monster.

Sure I've been :bandit:'d but well, wanted to answer:wizard::wizard:

Justicar has Reave and that biotic bubble, which at lvl6 can be detonate BY SOMEONE ELSE, NOT THE JUSTICAR with warp (up untill 3 foes at the same time). Normally it's skills are: people inside bubble do more damage and take less damage, and enemies iniside take more damage.

Indeed kumquats, old Asari Adept is THE MONSTER:lol::lol:

Asari Adept is more damage heavy, but a Justicar CAN detonate with Reave, even enemies passing into her own Biotic Sphere (with that Rank 6 "Warp Effect")
