That fanmade ending is actually really well done, especially considering what he had to work with. The walking backwards through the Citadel, back to the Relay...with the flashes of most of the squad coming up, just the same as the original game gave you, except it has more people..it's a nice touch.
But most of all what impressed me, is the basically entirely new footage. Everyone has seen fanmade videos that simply cut out parts of the ending or put in footage from earlier in the trilogy...this guy DOES that, but goes further, once Shepard leaves the Citadel. That bit with waking up to Liara staring over her, then a motion-ized form of that now pretty famous picture of Liara holding Shep at the end...it's all really impressive and took some serious work with models and such on the part of the author.
Was that perhaps made in Garry's mod or something like that? Some modelling program?
Edit - something else. Yes, the very end with it just being a death hallucination is awkward, but read the comments. It's meant to be taken as if it was multiple endings, not all 1 coherent ending. The author just didn't want to upload a bunch of different small variations.
The author even *says* that most people should probably just stop the video at the end of the segment of Liara holding Shep, for a complete ending. So I'll take that. The rest are supposed to be variations similar to what you might get for different ems scores and such.
I consider it the ending over at about 7:47 or so, before the "I love yous" start.
