I didn't think so...  She said that both Liara and Tali chewed her out for working with Cerberus.  Maybe she just got confused?  I haven't had her read Redemption yet.  That'll be interesting.  And then of course there's the whole LotSB thing, too.  I love watching her play 'cause I get to experience someone else's first-time through the game!  She was so pissed off at the reception she received from Liara!  I was like "Honey, join the club..."

At least Liara gave Shepard a kiss unlike the VS with just a hug.  Liara hugs friend Shep where the VS just gives a handshake.  

I wasn't pissed, I was almost heartbroken.  Especially after getting renegade points for the hacking.  When Liara asked for help the second time to get to the observer, I said no.  This was the first playthrough, but I ended up doing them anyway.  Shep was just being stubborn at that point.

Oh yeah, I know the feeling...  (wrote that a while ago, long after I'd done LotSB, though)  I was lucky and never had to wait for LotSB.  The day after I ran Illium I found out about Redemption and LotSB, bought both, and felt all was right in the universe again.

But I'm torn with whether I want her to do LotSB right away, or wait 'til after the SM...

Well, figure out how she reacts if or when she listens to what Liara has to say about Redemption. Because I remember my first three playthroughs, I hated Liara and wanted to breakup with her. And I felt like that for a while, until I saw this scene. Then I felt like **** for moving on to Tali.

Decisions decisions...

I was those that had to wait for LotSB to be released.  I do have it for my PC, which I need to get back to playing.  I've been trying hard not to play much ME right now.  But that is a battle I'm slowly losing.

I normally do the DLC before the SM, but the cabin scene afterwards.  My Shepard wanted something to look forward to while going through the Omega-4 relay.  My last playthrough I did both the LotSB and Arrival after the SM and left the cabin scene after Arrival.

I got the hidden dialog but I still felt confused, angry and sad in it. Sorta like that I did not know if there was anything between them. If the two years did in the end destroy what Liara and Shepard had.

I do remember questioning if Liara and Feron did have something going on.

But I was more of just bothered by the sudden change. It was 2 or 1.5 years since I last played ME1, so I already vaguely remembered Liara. But when I met her in ME1, I already knew she wasn't the same person anymore. The old Liara was dead. And the new one was threatening people, and asking you to assist her in murdering someone for data. And while mostly brushing you off. Plus the pale skin and the deeper voice. The girl I romanced in ME1 was dead. And the person that replaced her was not someone I wanted to live with. She was a stranger.

And then seeing those Liara DLC lines, where she still wanted to kill people "because they must pay", really through me over the edge. I didn't know if I wanted to continue the relationship or not till LOTSB came out. I had to refuse to play my canon Shepard.

Completley the opposite for me, I loved the Shy and cute ME1 Liara; but the LOTSB made me like her even more. She has a wild side, and still showed that she cared and loved Shepard at the same time; it was her added confidence and determination that attracted me to her even more in the DLC, and the romance scene just proved to me how much she loves Shepard.

No, you misunderstand. LOTSB made me love her.

It was this that made me "GRRR"

This was the original plan for her becoming the Shadow Broker. It was on the disc, and we knew about it for months before LOTSB was even announced.



Not only that, it just felt like nothing was ever enough for her. First you hack terminals. Then hacked more terminals, to help her kill someone so she can grab some data. Then (apparently) killed the Shadow Broker. And still she gives you an excuse not to go with you. And instead thinks she needs to kill more people. And no matter what you did for her, you still came last in the end.

What I liked about what they changed in LOTSB, is that she isn't out to continue a "they must pay" spree, nor just using the base for data searching (which could be done on the Normandy). She instead became the Shadow Broker because we can use his contacts and resources, and she doesn't want to throw it all away (which makes sense). She also wants to make things better. And though being the SB still came first, she still wanted to spare time with you, and did. She was willing to put work away, just to be with you for a night. She did a give and take.

That initial plan was probably because they didnt had time to incorporate a mission like that in the main game, and they just needed an excuse for Liara to not be a squadmember, so they recorded that just in case. Good that they scrapped it, sure even for them was just too odd, and a dlc was made instead with plenty of time

The first time i played M2 i was sad with the Liara cameo, and went to her office a couple of extra times to check how she was, but never went through my mind to cheat on her, i just looked at her picture in the cabin and hoped for a resolution in the next game... then Lotsb came, and i felt complete again

I think Cerberus will go after Liara to get to Shepard.  TIM is watching them closely.  He knows where the base is now, thanks to Shepard/Liara.  I also think TIM has set Liara up from the beginning along with Shepard.  Just my gut feeling.   Gawd I hate that guy so much.  I'm like Ice-T in New Jack City...."I want to shoot you so bad, my dick is hard."  LOL  Love that line.

True, it could be the reapers, but considering they are starting at the bottom of the galaxy map(according to devs at E3) and moving upward on the map.  With Hagalaz being towards the top of the glaxay map is another reason why I think it's TIM and Cerberus.  I might be wrong, wouldn't be the first time nor the last.

About what Vigil said, the reapers went after the Citadel first.  That is probably where they got most of their information about where everyone else is located.  It's looking like that won't be the case this time around.  Shepard and the Normandy already screwed that up.

If you take Redemption into account, the Reapers are well aware of the Shadow Broker, however the question is, do they know where his base is? Unless they manage to track through Normandy somehow I doubt they would find it easily.

When the last invasion happened Reapers used the Citadel to access the rest of the galaxy, however right now they basicly just invade from the south of the galaxy. I would imagine you still need some sort of coordinates for various systems, so unless Collectors had all that I doubt they would get to the SB base fast.

Then again, Bioware might just deus ex machina the whole thing again at the beggining of the game

Thankfully, the location of the SB base is not public knowledge. Only Shepards crew and cerberus know where it is. The Reapers would have to analyze Cerberus' databases to learn where it is. While it seems Cerberus is actually working with the reapers, it seems it's not actually the case, their goals just seem similar at this point, for whatever reason. Therefore I doubt Cerberus will just give the information to the Reapers for which I'm thankful. Cerberus attacking SB base isn't nearly as bad as the Reapers attacking it.

You made my day with that bit of information. It's about time at least one LI would say: "You've had your chance and you chose not to take it." It was kind of obvious though. Lots of characters now will only be temp squaddies or have cameos. Romancing a character after a 1 hour cameo or 2 hours of being a temp squaddie would just be weird. Frankly I can see Liara not wanting to start a new romance in ME3, she certainly is a duty comes first person so starting a new romance during ME3 would not be high on her priority list....I think.

I imagine the ME1 characters will be re-romancable. I think Kaidan's voice actor tweeted to have done lines that seemed very man to man.

I think Liara will be re-romancable in ME3. Though it's questionable if you'll be competing with Feron.
