And my favourite non romantic scenes have mostly been said, but I really should mention the scene in ME3 where Shep checks out the Cerberus console about his/her reconstruction and Liara says  "I knew it was you the moment I touched you"

I b'awwweddd hard.

I have to agree, while there are dozens of non-romance scenes that are wonderful that one really sat well with me, the way she delivers both the lines. in the "I wish you told me Shepard" Liara really sounds distraught over her friend/partner's emotional pain.
And the "I knew it was really you the first time I touched you again" is also great, both in choice of words and performance.
While I am not entirly sure I would call it non-romance, yeas it does happened without romancing (or so I, think haven't actually played ME3 without a Liara Romance) I think its effect is way more powerful in romance.
I always pretend that my Shepard would want to give her a kiss at that.

LotSB has the best dialogue in the entire trilogy - hell it's some of the best content in the entire trilogy anyway, if not outright being the best content. I think it has some of the best romantic dialogue as well as non romantic, though on the romance side there's parts of ME3 that can compete.

You know, the first couple of times I really liked that tummy pic... Now it just creeps me out.
I worked out it's because it "de-Asaris" her, basically reduces her to a body part. :?:(

I have to agree, it's really tasteless. It's essentially - it's like how in Miranda's sex scene, it's really immature because there's that part where it just zooms straight in on her ******.

If it was a full body picture - or at least included her head, it'd be more tasteful, but without...it's like missing the point at why Liara's sex scenes are so good and just seeing them for pure nudity and nothing else.

On the non-romance dialogue thing...no love for the spontaneous Virmire line? "I don't know which is worse: the geth or the sand in my...nevermind."

@RubyNorman,  I like the concept so far and I'm not sure if you got my PM (my internet connection has been really wanky today and I'm not sure if the message actually sent) but I need to know if you meant it as a story or script before sending you the edits on grammar and formatting.

Thank you  I got your PM. I'm going to reply it right away. And I'm still waiting for Liara to appear in your fic.

Agh! I'm tired of drawing Liara's lab coat and coloring Shep's hoodie. I hope it'll turn out ok. Maybe next time they won't need those things
Just kidding, maybe next time I will do a BroShep/Liara fanart.
@The Lightspeaker: I like your newest fanfic. I LOL when reading the "... blue..." part  :D

Oh yeah..I forgot about that one.(That line is best delivered in french. IMO) Did anyone else notice that freckleshep could compete with Miranda for the 'dat ass'  jokes, in ME3? I mean Ihave to say Fshep has the better **** compared to Liara...

One exchange that didn't happen in the game that I enjoyed writing involved Garrus:

Garrus (after dropping the Geth ship on Feros): Was it good for you?
Shep: Eh, I've had better.
Liara: (blinks in confusion): Wait, what did you mean, 'was it good for you?'

I loved that part! (Big fan, btw. I'm pretty sure I like Del better than my own Shep ... ) I'm on my second read-through of your fic right now. I'm replaying the trilogy (again) and using Dark Energy as sort of a supplement to get me through the "dryer" side missions stuff. Actually, I have it open on my iPad to read while driving the Mako to designated points ... I'm sure the squaddies don't appreciate the worse-than-usual driving.

I have to say - going back to Feros after reading Del's adventures totally changed the experience. I could almost smell the thorian creepers and imagined how gross-warmish those areas were. When they would get close enough to melee, my thoughts jumped from "mushrooms ...." to "keep your mouth closed, Shep!!" And when it was all over, I totally swiveled the camera over to Garrus and Liara and wished for your lines ...

I've played through those missions so many times, but thanks to your fic, it's like all-new game content for me.  Thanks so much for writing!

No, because quite frankly the whole movement is getting way out of hand. Sad to say Retake/holdthe line has become the joke at my local bar.

Patron 2"Hold the line, mate!!"

People, come on! I agree the Retake/Hold The Line movement isn't as organized as it should be, but at least we're doing something that matters. We HAVE to do this. There IS no other way. Some say retakers are in denial - guess what - YOU'RE in denial. Mass Effect 3's ending HAS TO BE CHANGED. Got it? It has. To be. Changed. For Liara. Headcanon is only a mediocre and temporary satisfaction - we need a real change. And now when we actually have a plan for an action you ridicule it? This pisses me off so much. This is why humanity has failed whenever something actually happened - we don't dare. We're cowards. Now just for one second, ignore that. I admit that I'm a coward, but I've decided to give >amount of f*cks: 0< about it. I'm doing this. Join me if you have any personal integrity left. Freak's sake...

I think the point is that it's not Liara, it's just blue skin. Atleast I see it just as... well, skin.

Thank you for your support, but please stay polite. Everyone is entitlted to their opinions on the matter and if they don't want to struggle any more we can hardly blame them. It's not like the fanbase has been very encouraged by Bioware's responses so far. I will keep trying to drum up support. :)

The banners were made by the lovely DrowVampyre and I believe she used the most romantic picture of Liara she had in that size. If you have a large image you'd rather use, I can see what can be done. We'd prefer one without Shepard in it.

Most of my friends really don't mind me talking to them about Mass Effect, since they talk to me about WoW and other stuff, but just not in the bar. We're not going to the bar so that we can talk about ME... at least usually not :P.

Sorry, I think I just snapped when the community that I've fled to in hope of something better than the sh*t I'm experiencing in real life wasn't all rainbows and castles. This movement could change human history... is sort of gets to me when people get as arrogant as BioWare themselves and ridicule us ("Are we going to change the endings? No." = DIRECT INSULT).

Hm, that's actually a good point.

Let me think about this...

Personally, I don't like either. For a very similar reason in that I can't see any of the character of the girl model there, it's just...skin. No personality or anything.

Yet, my instinct isn't to call what you linked not artistic.

So, why? Am I just being a hypocrite with my standards, and they should either be both artistic or both not? Well, possible, I'm not discounting that possibility. But, there's a difference between the two - even aside from that one is in black and white and one isn't - which I'm not really counting because I don't thinik B&W automatically = art...it's in the intention of the shot, I think.

I don't get the impression yours was meant to degrade the model, it's clearly meant as an artistic piece - yet in the Liara one - it's taking a screenshot of the model during an emotional sex scene and removing her head and such. I get impressions of the Miranda sex scene, as I said. I feel like it's trying to just focus as much on her nudity as it can, rather than anything else. I realize this may not be very fair of me, but I'm simply trying to explain the impressions I get.
