Thoughts on what Liara will do after the universe is saved?

I don't think she'll go back to Thessia until she enters the matriarch stage, but I can see her working on the Citadel as a diplomat. I can also see her returning to archaeology.

ToP - I love this so much! Image IPB

Provided the SB base is destroyed in ME3 and she wasn't romanced, I'd say there's a good chance for her to become a diplomat of sorts. By spending so much time at the SB base she shows she still doesn't mind being practically alone, despite travelling the galaxy and being an info broker for several years. She might go back to archeology. Though with possibly more prothean technology being found and used during ME3, one might say the mystery of the protheans has been solved. With the rest of the galaxy now safe from the reapers, as the last protheans intended all along, they can now be left in peace. I don't see Liara going back to studying prothean ruins because there probably isn't much more to learn from them.
It goes without saying that, if romanced, Liara and Shepard will spend a lot of time together.^_^

Granted you completed Picancle Station in ME1, Shepard should still have a house on Intai'sei (unless it got repossessed after Shep's death) Liara and Shep could settle down, get married, have lots of little blue children ;)
And if Normandy is not impounded after the war, perhaps go to archeological digs, go back to Therum, have some nostalgia :P

She already knows EVERYTHING about the protheans. From Shepard's vision and cipher.

I am thinking when this is over she will try to find the origin of the Reaper

She might know everything, but what about technology, artifacts, data storages that might be found at the dig sites? Information is not everything, maybe she would want to open a Prothean museum on the Citadel :)

Link?

After the abortion of DA2 though, while waiting longer for ME3 will suck I'm pretty happy if they want to push it back so we get a quality product - it'll simply make it even more enjoyable when we get it.

Yeah right? 'ME3 delayed again' rumor coming out the same time as another 'multiplayer in ME3' rumor? Those guys are putting more and more effort into making these lies look legit. I'm getting sick of all these baseless rumors...

If Liara wanted to get back to archaeology she could always study another species if she's bored with the protheans. I noticed while reading the the info on random planets there's various planets that suffered mass extinctions, I dare say there are even more on unexplored worlds.

I wonder how often asari change careers. Liara had spent 50 years studying the protheans, that would be a human's life work but Liara's still young for an asari. If I was going to live for a thousand years I'd definitely go back to university to do another degree (hell I'd go back now if I had enough money) so maybe after spending 50 years on her archaeology Liara would like to go back to university to study something else.

The only redeeming quality of multiplayer would be if you got to play as different species.

And yes, that is my veiled way of saying "playing Liara would be amazing" :P

I'm pretty exited for this new Star Wars MMO BioWare will be releasing in approximately 1 - 2 months (if all goes as planned) and I've been replaying ME1 again lately. While walking around on the citadel, doing some minor assignments I figured it'd be really awesome if you could return here in a Mass Effect MMO, playing as a character you created (whether Human or Asari, Turian, Quarian... whatever) and just do tons and tons of activities on the citadel. Sure we're looking at a 4 - 5 year dev time, but for me this would be a much better alternative than ME4 becoming a pure shooter with multiplayer and no more rpg elements (I'm kind of afraid ME will be turned into Battlefield  5: The Batarians attack!)

Anyway, I'd love to play as an Asari in an MMO set 1000 years after ME3, while hearing about this great hero 'Shepard' and his/her beautiful and smart bondmate, Liara. --- Ahh a guy can dream...

Edit: 50 children? Holy C... Let's start with Marriage/Bondmate ceremony and save the children for later shall we?;)

No MMO for Mass Effect, I will hate that kinda my PC sucks with games, if they did for a console maybe. I think though Multiplayer is not for Mass Effect that just me. I think beloved Liara and Shep will do things after they complete. I'm sure we will be able to travel and explore, do things. I hope that we do. I know there will be left over things to do anyway once you complete the main story.

It doesn't seem we know too much about the avarage asari once she reaches the matron stage. It's common knowledge most maiden Asari can't wait to get out of their parents' house and make some money by either dancing in a sleazy bar or joining a merc band. After a few 100 years they reach the matron stage, chose a partner (Most asari don't seem to be too picky about whom they chose to live with, Liara being the sole exception so far - another point for Liara) and kind of settle down, have some children and repeat this with as many partners as possible until they reach the age of +/- 700. After which they're called matriarchs and most of them seem to take on the roles of advisors or politicians.

This isn't much to go on. Surely in those 300 - 400 years of matronhood an asari does more things than act as a blue baby machine right?

Urgh god no. I am sick of when a new interesting universe is created, people's only reaction seems to be "Let's make a MMO out of it!". Let ME stay a single-player franchise with potential MP spin-offs.

I would love to see a Mass Effect MMO - but Bioware is not going to create two sci-fi MMOs at once.
