I think you are correct on this one. The child is a not complete copy of their mother due to the genes being randomized. Otherwise clones would have been produced.

I think some trails from the father will be pass down as well. Since Matriarch Aethyta headbutted a Krogan.

So what I'm trying to say is, if you have a problem with my pictures per se
a)
feel free to tell me. I might not necessarily agree with it, but as
long as it's civilized I'm allways looking for all kinds of feedback.
B)
know, that even if it might not seem that way at first, I allways put a
bit of thought into this stuff. I have no interest in turning Liara
into nothing but a hot sex object ...

I have no problem with that picture. It's just the way it was posted. It's a part of Liara that we've come to love, nothing wrong to admire it

I liked it. Although I have one nitpick to make.

You mention that Reaper tech was involved in Project Lazarus, which is wrong.

If you can point me to where they explain how Lazarus worked, I'd be all for upping my research.  I mostly just handwaved that in to explain how Shepard seems to heal the scars from Lazarus so quickly.

Except that Morinth pretty much is an exact replica of Samara.  Granted, she's the only one of the three who looks anything like Samara...

There are the video logs on Cronos station.

Now they never really explain directly how Lazarus worked. The fact that Reaper tech is not mentioned would suggest it was never involved. Compare it to the logs about EDI where Reaper tech is delibratrly mentioned.

If Bioware wanted to reveal that Shepard was implanted with Reaper tech, it would have been said in the logs. As it is, it seems clear that it was simply "normal" technology  used, especially with the "I am going to throw money at it until Shepard is revived" line from TIM.

"EDIT"

And for those with long memories. I was indeed one of those who was 100% certain that Reaper tech was involved in Lazarus, I even brought up in the Liara thread a few times. So I guess the joke is on me.

So "wrong" might be a bit strong of a word to use.  It kinda falls into that in-between undefined state.  I'm perfectly willing to believe it was just lots of brand-new tech developed specifically for Lazarus.  Ultimately, though, the part where I talk about it in Returned was a throwaway line that never really confirmed things one way or another.

On a sidenote, is Liara worth bringing as an Adept? I love taking her with me on my Vanguard, but we're both pretty squishy, especially so at low level with crappy powers and crappy armor. I just rescued her from Therum, so I haven't gotten a chance to try her out. I'd love you guys forever if you saved me some time. :D

Simple answer: Yes. If you feel too squishy, bring someone like Wrex or Ashley along, they are both excellent Tanks.
Liara is very powerful in ME1 and ME3.
And don't let me start with the Stasis bug in LotSB....

Thanks. Image IPB I would've really liked to bring someone tech oriented with me, but I suppose that since this is only a speedrun, then it doesn't really matter at this point. Besides, I do know that Liara gets ridiculously survivable if one maxes out Barrier and supplements that with Electronics. She typically lasts longer than Garrus and she doesn't even have Sheild Boost.... Add Predator L armor and she rarely dies at all. (My game seems to refuse to give me any human Colossus armor through. It's being so mean to me. Gives me a crap load of Quarian/Krogan/Turian Colossus armor, but no human. Image IPB) Ah well, I have managed to match Liara, Garrus and I in our Predator L/M armor.....

As I said. If Bioware did not mention it in the videos it is most likely because it is wrong.

I know it was meant as a throw away line but mentioning Reaper tech just made the line stick out to me. And maybe I simply misread it but I felt it came out as if it was fact.

So the story was 25 years after the reaper war. Now there was "5 years later", so now we're at 30 years after the war?
She spent 5 years on random jobs while being depressed without Liara... just... whoa... :o

I will prolly finish it all the way tomorrow since I at least want to take part in that Turn On/Turn Off thing. And I can suffer through it by just dreaming that its all gonna get better this summer since I trust Weeks as a writer. Plus I can imagine a conversation between Weeks and Hudson or Walters going something like this:

Hudson/Walters: So Patrick I really don't like the way then ending you are writing is going I thi....

Weeks: *Paragon Interupt* Really you don't like what I'm doing, well lets see how it went when you wrote then ending hmm? How many weeks of damage control have we had to do? How many fans have taken to the forums in uproar? Oh thats right neither one of you has been paying attention to your Twitter accounts or been on the BSN forums, nor have you been out in public since release. Let me do it my way to FIX your ERRORS!!!

Weeks: *Renegade Interupt* (punches them in the stomach) I'M TIRED OF YOUR SNIDE INSINUATIONS!!!!!

Not that I could see Weeks doing either one of those things but its nice to dream isn't it?

ME1 is not balanced at all (though no Mass Effect game is so a moot point) the key to winning Mass Effect 1 is stack Biotics, as much as you can. There is one enemy type in the entire game that are not weak or affected by Biotics and those are flying drones, of which the only time you will encounter JUST flying drones is on the Moon mission. The grandmaster power of Biotics, the one you want to spam as much as possible is Singularity. Basically think of it as an area of effect lift spell, so long as everyone is floating around they can't shoot you and therefore it doesn't really matter if you're squishy or can only use pistols because you aren't taking any damage from the floating people.

Tech in ME1 is almost useless, it's good against flying drones and Geth though the most useful thing it does is let you open things for loot.

Of course I'm always of the opinion that tanking is useless in anything short of a turn based game, why take damage when you can deal it? They can't hurt you if they're dead.

Pretty much this.  On lower difficulties you can get by with one biotic and some good weapons.  On higher difficulties you definitely need at least two biotics in your squad.  You also want to get away from the idea of "tanking" in a game like Mass Effect.  Tanks work because they can get healed.  Even stacking all the regen buffs you can find, a few moments out of cover on insanity will take down even Wrex.  Medigel does not a healer make.

I don't disagree, but I ended up liking tech a lil bit more after a few
playthroughs, it just felt abit more RPGish and tactical, overheating weapons,
debuffing, and silencing other tech and biotics. Biotics were in most cases just a stun or pure crowd control.

Also, someone requested a bigger version of my display picture thing, and since I'm horrible at converting it ended up at a stunning 44mb, wich is curious since the mp4 is barely 6 ,_,

Quite right. I only wanted the tech guy so I could unlock things. As I alluded to, a large part of that is so that I can attempt to get my hands on Colussus armor. I keep hoping that the next crate will have one. Or the crate after that. Not that Predator L/M/H isn't good. It's just as awesome, but with shields, however I like the look of Colosus better....

Anyway, really the only two tech abilities I end up using are Overload and Damping. The shield attack isn't really what I like using it for considering it's pretty easy to strip shields with your weapon of choice. However, on harder difficulties, the damage protection many enemies have make killing things... not particularly difficult since by high level you're pretty survivable, but lengthy rather. So, I like the passsive 30% damage increase. Tack that on with Warp and you make Immunity useless which is really helpful against Krogan who are really the only things that manage to kill me at this point of the game. Damping, I like to use when I can't get everyone in a CC. Like the Shiala clone on Feros. Usually I can manage to get all the zombie dudes, but she sometimes manages to slip past Lifts or Singularities. At which point, Garrus lets loose a tech mine.

Other than that, yeah, tech is largey useless. One of the reasons Infiltrator is so boring in ME. Gets awesome in ME2, but ME1, it's meh. Just spam Immunity and snipe everything. I don't usually end up using anything besides Overload and Assassination with Immunity. Didn't really notice the biotic aspect of the game since I could simply outlast everything and shoot it. Got to say though, the combat in ME1 doesn't stand out until you use biotics. It was pretty boring before I scrapped my Infiltrator, which was my first successful class in ME. I'll probably only pick that class up again in 2.....

I discovered the Mass Effect universe in January. I played ME1-ME2-ME3 in sequence with my first char, a soldier femshep, and I'm in the process of doing another run with an adept femshep (I've done about 50% of ME1 storyline so far). I plan to stop my gameplay in ME3 just before Cronos, until the EC is released this summer. I mentally can't go through the ending again at the moment.
