^That would be met with a simple "You didn't give me much chance to explain since you were so busy calling me a traitor." Garrus and Tali kind of know already so the only people to explain it to are Ashley/Kaidan. And I'm reasonably sure new guy James Vega would also like to know how Shepard survived. Being a soldier he was probably indoctrinated by alliance propaganda years ago and learned all about Shepard's treachery when he vanished, was declared KIA and suddenly returned and had joined Cerberus.
I was talking more about their response to why Liara never told anyone what she did and kept the secret for herself.
I imagine Cerberus wanted to keep this a secret at the time. Afterwards, when the Lazarus project was finished, it was 2 years later and Liara may not have felt like talking about it. As to how Liara is going to explain this, if she does at all, I have no idea...
I'd like to see Liara and Ashley become friends in ME3. Ashley didn't really trust Liara in ME1 (I suppose she had reason) but she must have got over that by ME3, plus Liara's come out of her shell a bit since ME1 so maybe she'll be more likely to socialise with non-Shepard members of the crew. Of course now that Liara has given Shep to Cerberus and become the Shadow Broker Ashley may have even more reason not to trust her.
But who is going to tell them Liara is now the Shadow broker? My Shepard certainly won't....

If it comes to pass that the base is destroyed and Liara safely extracted from the crashing ship, naturally Ashley/Kaidan will have some questions though it would no longer matter because then the shadow broker is gone...
