Hey guys, I just wanted to share a thought with you and see if anyone felt the same. During the final 'gift' scene in the romance's conclusion, when Liara offers her 'gift' you've got three options, to either accept or decline it or ask about the nature of the gift, I instantly chose acceptance, because I thought if I received a gift from somebody I loved in real life, its nature won't matter, because it's a symbol of love and appreciation, and it's not about materials, it's about what it manifests and represents. So, I felt the same about Liara, she gave me a gift, so I accept it without hesitation, the fact it's coming from her is alone beautiful. I know, she's not a real human, she doesn't 'feel' or appreciate, she only scripted, but Bioware have crafted their characters so well, they're believable. Damn it, she's so admirable and lovable.

Asking what it is results in a more interesting dialogue

Okay I need to find out where the conduit is. I just need to get through his memories one more time.

Okay, Liara, you did this before, you can do it again. Just nee-

Wait....

I don't recall this. Since when was I in his quaters with him? I don't recall... taking off my uniform for him... slowly.

Yes. That fits much better! More amusing, too.

Thank you!

I was unsure of what people would think of it (I expected flaming) since humor is not my strong suit. But I am glad you liked it.:)

Well the thing is, that's consensual, and it also serves the purpose of still being an embarassing thing to be caught thinking about, eliciting an amusing reaction from both Liara and Shep when they realize what thoughts are being probed. As well, it shows off Shep's interest in her and can get her curious about humans in a romantic/sexual way.

All without actually degrading either of them.

I don't feel there's anything wrong with asking about it, especially since it sounds kind of intriguing. It doesn't come across as doubting her or anything like that and I don't think she would take offence at Shep asking about it.
And besides, asking her about it leads to her implicitly referring to Shep as her bondmate, so that alone makes it worth it.

As
Zwei133 and
frudi  have said asking her makes the scene better and give it more emotion  so you must always ask her

I know this isn't proper roleplaying but I know that the mechanics will let me ask the "right of wheel" questions later so I always exhaust the investigate options. I'm just too curious to see everything that Bioware have created!

Well, there are actually investigate options that disable other conversation options.

Still think about the five years part... that hit me hard when I started to think about it more and more. :(
I make no "demands" tho, I strongly believe that whatever he writes next will be powerful in a way or another and I'm okay with either way.

Seems like adept is the way to go in ME1 ? I've seen vanguard suggested too as an "adept with a shotgun". They don't yet have the ME2/3 style biotic charge, right? Going with Liara right when it's possible to get her, was there even biotic combo explosions? I really can't remember.

True but that's generally the exception rather than the rule...

I've never seen Adept recommended to be honest. Vanguard just has way too many extra benefits for very little downside. You lose Singularity and Stasis but gain Shotguns and Assault Training. Stasis is pretty bad in ME1 (makes opponents invulnerable whilst stunned) and Singularity is very similar to Lift.

For biotics I always think Vanguard>Adept>Adept is the way to go through the games.

No way, you haven't seen fun until you pair an adept with Liara in ME1. It turns the entire game into Garry's mod or something crazy.

yeah i know i was saying it was great because of the emotions it pulled from me as i read it.  and considering Asari lifespans five years is probably only like a few more months in their eyes.

I have beaten ME3 four times. I also have two 'almost complete' playthroughs. Urrgh I hate that speech at the start, in English. It felt so overdone and cringe worthy. The un-romanced no-import version of Mars is bland. I barely got to the citidel on that play-through. Kaiden actually says it to your face at the london scene "We both know the score, we know this is goodbye." and it makes the gift scene even more heartstring pulling.(It's like Liara is holding back from saying it.) I dont think I could go through ME3 again. It's so depressing, the whole game is depressing..its even more depressing in Italian..

After i finished the game for the first time i wanted to kill myself :( the most depressing thing for me is that when i jumped in the game my goal was my Shepard to survive and live with Liara with their little blue children (because bioware usually rewards the players who give everything they got in their games) but when you say your final goodbyes with the crew you kind of "realising" that maybe this is a one way trip. And for me the multi-level depression was starting to  growing.
My EMS was around 6800 i I chose the red ending but still in the end i expected the game to make me feel "satisfaction"
instead i felt like a genocidal greek hero:crying::crying::crying:

Um, I don't know if it's official or anything, but just clicked the Mass Effect-movie page at imdb, and saw that Camryn Grimes is supposed to play femShep and Mark Vanderloo maleShep in the movie.
Just some thoughts on this: who the fudge is Camryn Grimes? Are they announcing the cast yet? Mark Vanderloo IS maleShep, but is he really good enough as an actor? And most importantly: who will play our beloved Liara?

You have to ask Liara, the bondmate line ... ohhh ..... and the smile after that..... It was totally worth it.
@moreeman06 I'm a PC player.
I play as an Infiltrator in my canon playthrough and MP. I tried to play Vanguard in ME3 and it was fun, when I play Vanguard in MP I die every 2 mins. But after playing as an Salarian engineer, I never want to be an Infiltrator again, Energy drain + that Geth pulse or something = top/second of the group. I don't have much experience in playing with biotic. :( I let Liara do all the biotic works in my game.

Which will begin with coaxing us out of the foetal position. Well, me at least.

Count me in on the MP too, already on moreman's list. Got my Asari Adept to 20
