Um, I don't know if it's official or anything, but just clicked the Mass Effect-movie page at imdb, and saw that Camryn Grimes is supposed to play femShep and Mark Vanderloo maleShep in the movie.
Just some thoughts on this: who the fudge is Camryn Grimes? Are they announcing the cast yet? Mark Vanderloo IS maleShep, but is he really good enough as an actor? And most importantly: who will play our beloved Liara?

Uh that sounds weird...Mark Vanderloo isn't know for anything else besides his looks...and Camryn Grimes? I just googled her and she is like what? Barely above the 20? Yeah..not going to happen if they want to stay with the time line. And moreover, why would they have a male and a female Shep in the movie? Doesn't make sense, does it?

Pretty much this...why would I watch a movie about a Shepard that isn't my Shepard. And a Liara that isn't voiced by Ali Hillis? That just wouldn't be a Liara now, would it? And I doubt they let her play the role <_<

If you search a little bit about the movie you will see it will have the script of the 1st game Shepard will be a Male and no actors have been announced whatever you will see now its fake they only have some screenwriters-producers...etc it's in the early stages of development

I wouldn't pay any attention to that.  It's likely pure speculation.  I mean, it's basically a "who looks like <character x>" game that you see everywhere around the internet.  I've seen Matthew Fox, among others, tapped as "who will play Shepard in the movie".

@moreeman06 maybe another day, my parents dislike seeing me playing games. And it is Saturday here T.T . 20 years old this and that.

I only watch the movie because I want to see Liara. I'll probably hate it and that Shepard anyway.

@moree thers actually a (really old and really just a shell) nuclear missile planted outside the aviation museum near NAIT.  ...guess where it's targetted   (its also loaded with sandbags...so hopefully if that thing is ever launched the target's home needed a new paintjob anyways)

I would watch the hell out of a movie about the First Contact War.

Honestly, though?  My biggest hope would be for a The West Wing style series about politics centered around the Council races.

bloodrage survival games.... i have just the arena to house those in.  and there actually is an old missle over there, oh well i hope that Casey's jet can evade it

Just think about this from their perspective you think for example if they make a movie about the first contact war will be the same as shepard chase saren across the galaxy?The mass effect trilogy if handle right it can be a great success the script is phenomenal personally i will go watch the movie.if it comes out

I don't mind the story being about Shepard or different actors playing the roles if the movie is good. It's a Hollywood version of a video game franchise though, so the chances of that being the case are close to zero.

If Liara's the canon LI. It has potential. If Ashley is Shepard's LI I'm out

A mass effect movie would probably be pretty bad, and would likely be a very shortened version of Mass Effect 1, with lots of events and such cut out entirely. Like, Feros might not show up at all.

Also, Shepard would almost definitely romance Ashley (and be a male) and the alien characters would be greatly reduced in how deep they are, and made into jokey/gimmicky side characters that you don't take seriously.

.......no.......just no to this movie if Garrus, Liara, Tali, and Wrex are reduced to comic relief.....and Ash is so damn annoying I would never be able to take that romance seriously.
