the new homefront comic, the first issue detail Vega's backstory

edit:  no idea why they're together though

Why are they hanging out? Where's Shepard? Whats the context to that scene?

Definitely, LotSB was excellent but the romance arc with Liara will make it worthwhile! On other playthroughs, I had to pick my love interest as my motivation but in my head, I was like - "Naw baby, this is for you." lol

Hell yeah, man. And you don't even know how right you are to think that, yes. But you will as you play through with a Liaramancer. Image IPB

Thanks, I noticed that when I brought Miranda one time- there was some additional dialouge. Tali or Liara.. It didn't take me long to decide. Except when I saw how sad Tali was about her father, I wanted to keep her happy through my Shepard - but I think I'll like Liara's arc better. So far, I like how their love starts in ME1.

Yeah. The Liara/Shep romance has a really neat, interesting start. Their romance is really unique and not like any other videogame romance I've ever seen.

About the 'Retake Omega', that would be so cool because they can still build on our past decisions. The whole, "It's about the journey rather than the end.', is something I don't believe works for everything. Like our lifespan, all of our endings are going to be horrible in some kind of fashion unless we die in peace/sleep. It's just how we can make it less of a ****ty end. Lol. I am actually worried about the endings because of what everyone is saying. All I know is there is three different choices, all suck ~ I feel like I'm not going to enjoy it. Maybe why I'm staying optimistic because I didn't make it to the end?

"It's about the journey rather than the end!!"   I'm telling myself that in hope that the ending won't be so depressing.

I see..yeah, that's right. You haven't seen the endings yet. Well, don't worry about it until you get there. It IS poisonous, but you don't know that until you see it.  No, you won't enjoy the ending.

On the bright side, you'll be able to handle it easier. You KNOW it's bad, you can mentally brace yourself. Me? I had no idea. I kept myself from spoiling the game, and I was on a HUGE high as I was finishing up the game, so when it went to ****, I've never before had such bad whiplash from a game. I was not prepared at all, and ti made me...furious. I'm STILL burned horribly by it. Lost, the TV series, doesn't even begin to describe the burns this gave me.

But you may be able to better weather it. At any rate, keep us updated as you play through as a Liaramancer now, let us know how Liara converts you, yeah? All the details, as you go through all the missions and such.

Edit - I can't stop listening to this song, lmao. It's really growing on me.

It's perfect chilled music for browsing forums like this and such. I really like it as a song related to Liara - like, even aside from the lyrics, the sound of it fits her.

edit 2 -

That comic is from the interim between ME2 and ME3. Shepard is likely held up in whatever the Alliance is using as a brig of sorts. This is probably Liara meeting Hackett and researching Mars and the Crucible. Just happens to run into Vega.

It's impressive what people can do with the modeler. This is quite possibly the most suggestive image I've seen yet, that isn't an outright sex picture, as well. I'm rather surprised this isn't NWS. I would've thought you should use a NWS tag, and linked this.

Still, I find this tasteful. Liara's expression really sells it. though some of the posing looks a bit awkward - I'm not sure what it is. Something about the way her arm is stretched looks a little awkward.

I have beaten ME3 four times. I also have two 'almost complete' playthroughs. Urrgh I hate that speech at the start, in English. It felt so overdone and cringe worthy. The un-romanced no-import version of Mars is bland. I barely got to the citidel on that play-through. Kaiden actually says it to your face at the london scene "We both know the score, we know this is goodbye." and it makes the gift scene even more heartstring pulling.(It's like Liara is holding back from saying it.) I dont think I could go through ME3 again. It's so depressing, the whole game is depressing..its even more depressing in Italian..

So it is. So it is. (Well, I don't know about the Italian, but still...)

I can't go through it again, especially with my italian broshep Dullin. Those two V.A are so T--T

I don't mind the ending, so much as I mind the forshadowing. Why must there be so much of it! French and Italian versions kill me twice over, and then some. And I dont like playing the English version..

All the comics traditionally have terrible art.

Like, even Redemption - it's so bad that it literally doesn't look like Liara, and if it didn't tell you it was Liara, the asari in it could easily pass for any other Asari. And the art for all kinds of people is bad and humanoid characters always have the weirdest faces.

Everyone always looks like they are melting, too.

Welcome to the ME comics. Seriously. They are all like that. Look any of them up, and tell me the characters actually look like their in game counterparts.

True. Come to think of it, I only owned one ME comic : Redemption, and I bought it just to get the story of how Liara retrieved Shep's body. Liara doesn't look like Liara in that one too but then, I just want the information.

Homefront is about Vega? Not interested in him; he's just an extra gun I could 'carry' along for missions and I hardly use him anyway. Useful for early missions and discarded for latter ones. Image IPB

Liara+AdeptShep=AwesomeSauce. I see what y'all meant about not worrying about tanking and the like. Even took Tali with me, just cause I like her nearly as much as Garrus. (Who I use liberally with Liara in my Vanguard playthrough.) Am I the only one that imagines banter between Shep and Liara while playing? Well, in the case of ME1, perhaps Shepard attempting to make friendly banter, Liara misunderstanding it, and Garrus explaining the joke as they blast things into oblivion. Then, awkward, stilted banter, and after weeks of tutorship between Garrus and Shep, Liara finally learns how to tell decent jokes. (Not that she isn't funny. Her dry humor is awesome, but I don't see her posessing the ability to tell actual jokes. Or finding humor in teasing.)

Hmm... Actually Liara+BioticShep=AwesomeSauce. Well, I don't know about Sentinel. I might try that class out too. Does anyone here like it? I hear it's fun in ME2, but it doesn't look too attractive for ME1. Kinda on par with Soldier for me.

This.  All that foreshadowing was like rubbing my face in the dirt of this bloody game (and i swear if one more person says or hints at goodbye im gonna...*shakes fist)*.  Especially after finding out about the endings first hand.  Now it's just...no, i cant even bring myself to play a second time.  I dont know how you guys do it.  Even my outlook on the snippets with Liara i sometimes reload for old times sake...don't feel quite the same.  theyre almost anger inducing.  Even tuchunka feels tainted.  Bah.  sucks.:crying:

I had read a few things about the ending before I played. I knew it was bad. When I finally got to the end, I cried and hit the table in furious. Now, everytime I watch it again ( I recorded it) I feel depression, goosebump, sad emotion.

I don't like that comic's style. It's not Liara. Redemption looks better.

My friend teased me about Javik when I had not played ME3. She said Liara and Javik would be together if I didn't romance Liara. And I asked her "Can I kill him in the game?" XD

This is perhaps the only good thing that came out of my Xbox dying on me. I had to spoil myself on the endings and just the game in general. However, without actually playing the game first-hand I'm incapable of getting the full impact. I'm mad, yeah, but I'm not devastated. Not yet anyway, and I don't really foresee myself becoming so simply because the blow is expected. I've also had a nice opportunity to break down the ending to it's literary bits and look at it without the emotions getting in the way. That, in turn, has helped me pack the ending and all its horribleness, up into a box and stick it somewhere out of sight.

Doesn't that sound awful though? I have never rejected canon for any kind of media before. Never. But that is what's happening. If the ending DLC does not fish the ending out of the Sea of **** that Hudson and Walters torpedoed it into, then ME3 will never have an official ending to me. It will be up to the community to make their own endings up, like they are now. Geez, this whole fiasco was completely unnecessary. Bioware knows how to end games. They're kinda known for it. What the hell happened?

Evolution had some nice artwork, i mean young TIM actually looked like a younger TIM  and the people Turian and human in general looked much closer to what they are in game.  but yeah  from what i just saw homefront's art isn't really my style

i just downloaded and read the comic it takes place on the citadel after they escape earth and that panel is one of the last ones.  the meat of the story is a flashback into why/how James joined the Marines

also just so you guys know it was written solely by Mac, and it was eh..., i couldn't find any info on the Liara one (hers is the last in the series)  but the Tali and Garrus ones that are next are written by the members of the writing team who worked on the characters (Weekes and Barlow for Tali, and Walters, Dombrow, and Barlow for Garrus)  here's hoping that Sylvia gets to make a contribution to the Liara one, or even better bring drew and John back for a one off on hers.  I swear that John Jackson Miller is the only thing that made redemption palatable for me and i loved how he did Invasion and Evolution

By the way, does James have a nickname for Liara? Loco, Lola, Sparkle... ?

Walters/Hudson happened.

That's what I think. That supposedly "fake" forum post about Hudson and Walters hi-jacking the ending from the other writers doesn't seem that far-fetched. Just look at the rest of the series. Hell, just look at the other 95% of the rest of ME3. The ending does not match up with what came before thematically or even as a writing style. I've seen arguments about ME1 supporting the ending of ME3, however, if this was really Bioware's intention to end the series like this all along, then they would not have added Legion. They would not have shown us the Morning War from the Geth's point of view. Why the hell is EDI friendly if the ending was their intention?

It. Does. Not. Match.

You do not explain a critical part of a work's theme to your audience with a character that "knows" everything. You never try to counter established themes, and the proof for those themes that occured in game with evidence that "Came Before." No audience will take that character's word for it. It doesn't matter if said character has experienced hundreds of wars with synthetics attempting to wipe out their creators. If you do not establish this within the media, or, as in ME's case, you show the exact opposite, then whatever you hoped to accomplish was doomed from inception.

This is what I mean by angry, but not devastated. The ending does not make me sad. It makes me angry because it's actually insulting. The ending is downright insulting. It takes the established rules of writing and makes a parody of them and then BW has the gall to think we won't notice. The only reason I'm even holding out hope for the EC is because of the extremely high possiblilty that Hudson and Walters shut out the rest of the writing team. I trust in the writers. I do not trust Casey Hudson and Mac Walters. I will probably never trust them again. I only wish Drew had not left for TOR, perhaps things would have been different.

Goddess i said i was going to bed but hmm..... James=Tarzan.  I wish the comic really wasn't that good it was too short to get any real detail and all you find out is that his Uncle is the father figure in his life and the reason he joined the marines while his real pops Josh Sanders is an abusive druggie who used to force him into work as a courier.  basically what you would learn if you listened to his dialogue on the normandy.

As for the Jane part
Shep:  *shoves Ash into the pic*  Jane... I mean Ash meat Tarzan.  *in childish voice*  Tarzan like Jane?
Liara:  Shepard its not necessary to talk to him like that he's perfectly capable of normal interaction
*James sulks up to Ash and smells her*
James: *gorilla grunt noises*
Shep:  you were saying doctor
Liara:  *puts palm over face and shakes head*  Goddess you humans can be so barbaric
Shep:  I can be even worse doctor
Liara:  *intrigued* really?
Shep:  my cabin 10 min....
*Shep and Liara walk off leaving Ash cornered in the cargo hold*
Ash:  guys help please...... guys this isn't funny anymore

ok and now I'm finally going to bed
