Doesn't mean asari skin is actually similar to ours, but it could be, even given it's in-game texture (as it could also be similar to reptilian skin, or something in between). I don't really care anyway.

Yeah, this is what I'm starting to learn towards now. It's scales, but it's not quite the same as scaled creatures we have on Earth. It's like a mixture between human skin and snake scales. (Not just reptilian because not all reptiles scales are the same. Iguanas, for example, have noticeably rougher and less smooth skin than snakes)
This also serves the purpose of making them even more alien in design than if it was just pure snake-scales or human flesh.

Check out the bar that was in my hotel! I had hoped to use the picture that I took on my phone but it seems I deleted it... or was a few beers too deep to take it properly
So here's the generic stock photo of the bar that had me in stitches when I saw it. (I stopped laughing when I saw that it had $11 beers)

About the asari skin. I looked at secveral reference picks and Liara's skin looks very similar, if a bit more fine than, the skin of serpents.
while I do not own a snake I have touched several; their skin is really pleasent to touch, not slimey or clammy like many believes nor is it particularly rough, simply more, yeah well, textured than smooth human skin. I can easily believe the asari having a similar feel to their skin, it would obviously be warmer since they are mammals.
Obviously there are many kinds of scales and what the asari has is not armoured scales like that of krocodiles or many monitor lizards, nor is it fish scales, but fine near-smooth slightly textured skin similar to that of serpents.

Well if memory serves, in addition to what Moreeman mentioned we had another depressive talk about the endings (or lack thereof), a rather unpleasent talk about asari maiden fertility, our general dissatisfaction of Shepard's behaviour when "comforting" Liara after Thessia. We also talked about how the Thessia mission seemed devoid of the depth and quality of Tuchanka story arc and needed more smaller missions and getting to know Thessia as a world and we talked about the absurdity of the Beacon's implications and consequences with opinions ranging from the asari already knowing about the reapers and could completly understand the beacon to other believing that the asari berely got anything of real value out of it, I being in the later group.hollow22_ wrote...

Exactly. Snakes have a bad reputation, but you feel me. People just don't seem to know what I mean when I say it seems that Asari have skin like a snakes scales. That's actually still a really smooth, sleek type of skin to touch.
I think people just have a negative kneejerk reaction when I compare Asari to snakes. A breath of fresh air to see you know what I mean.
